Just ordered Honda ZR-V. Amazing spec. Plenty of space front and back. Very smooth to drive with excellent mpg. The best bit is immediate delivery no lengthy wait. Can pick up next week. AP £1499

January 27, 2024 at 5:30 pm #256497Has the auto gearbox got creep where it goes steady forward in drive and what speed does the engine kick in 30 or 40 mph ? I only had a 20 min test drive many thanks
yes. Traffic assist works perfectly but the lowest speed you can set is 19mph. It steers as well for you. The engine kicks in at any speed. It’s interesting watching the power meter when cruise is set to 65mph. Sometimes it still uses pure EV mode at motorway speeds depending on the road conditions (downhill for instance) I managed to drive half a mile to my kids school in pure EV the whole way.
January 27, 2024 at 5:32 pm #256498It’s only a 1.05kw battery so 3 miles max but probably only a mile in reality.
January 29, 2024 at 7:37 am #256620Could I ask you the range was 700 miles on the display when you picked up what the range is saying now is in true with the miles you have done ? Cheers

700 miles is 56mpg
625 miles is 50mpg
600 miles is 48mpg
550 miles is 44mpg
550-625 mile should be easily achievable, even a bit more. However it will depend on the type of roads you are driving on and how heavy your righ foot is 🙂
January 29, 2024 at 12:22 pm #256634that honda is decent value. a bit like hyundai tho; all dealers are far enough away that they dont pick up without you paying them big bucks. ive got 8 months before i can start a new deal but dunno if i could afford what i will need. bigger cars or the vans , especially the ones with the ramp are gonna likely be too much. but the honda will likely be on the list of check out

….288 left after doing 236…I have enjoyed the car though!! 45-50mpg will be easily achievable although I thought I’d just enjoy the free fuel ? People look at it more than any other car I have had. The blue just pops and I waxed it yesterday.

….. today it needs filling. Nigh on 480 miles from the full tank. But I haven’t tried to economise tbh. 550-600 will be easily achievable. The car is such a nice space to spend time in…. the Megane had a dark headlining and was so dark inside but this is the polar opposite!! Still loving it so far!!
February 1, 2024 at 8:53 am #256973Many thanks 480 miles from a 57 litre tank is poor but its a 2 litre engine and like you say in eco mode it will do more it’s a lovely car but I’m still thinking to big in size for me but Thankyou for the update
February 1, 2024 at 9:00 am #256974There are 39 miles left in tank and now on 484. 520ish total.

My working 38.28mpg not bad for this time of year, in a few thousand miles this should improve, you will soon learn how to get the best out of a hybrids regeneration.
In the warmer weather and a few thousand miles 45 + mpg
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

I agree I got 56.9 mpg in my Chr 1.8 hybrid on the motorway yesterday doing 70 mph with the climate on 22 degrees it had 3rd year service last week and is running like a dream quietest it has ever been 21000 miles must be totally run in ?
February 1, 2024 at 10:30 am #256980Its impossible to compare one driver with another and subsequently the mpg is difficult to compare between any two drivers, regardless whether its a petrol, hybrid and electric.
The only legitimate way of comparing, is if any two drivers or more drove on the same roads at the same speed in the same weather/temperature.
I only mange 27-32mpg locally, a neighbour with an identica car, who get mid to high 30’s locally. I don’t doubt them as we are two very different drivers.
If I remember @JMC has a long motorway journey that needs to be taken into account, ontop of finding out what the car was capable of.
Don’t get hooked up with someone elses mpg. Its likely to be very different to your own!

Mike comparing your CHR mpg to the ZRV, which is both bigger and heavier is very difficult to start with. Comparing a 1.8 CHR with a 2.0 CHR is much easier 🙂

I totally agree Kezo I will book a 2 hour test drive

Do you really need a family car, when your mostly drive alone?
February 1, 2024 at 1:38 pm #256998For reference over 320 miles I’m getting about 38mpg. I drive in eco mode but I have a heavy right foot. I get much better mpg town driving than I do on the motorway.
The car is fantastic though. The advance trim is absolutely brilliant. My last car was a 2020 Audi A5 and the Honda ride comfort and interior quality is more than a match.
The best value for money on the scheme by a country mile imo.
You can also use the adaptive cruise in start stop traffic. I just set it to 19mph and the car does the rest. Very impressed so far.

February 1, 2024 at 1:48 pm #257000….. did you look at the receipt? The reason it’s such a good deal is motability only paid £29,881.37 for the car plus my £1499 AP, totaling £31,380.37! The car costs £44k+!! They got a massive £9,512.11 discount before VAT!!

that’s right Kezo but the blooming Yaris and Clio even on highest height to low for me to get in and out ! And the Yaris cross oh my goodness the battery problems on the Yaris forum ! Leave it 3 days it won’t start saying it’s the Turkish battery ! Pity the Honda jazz is such a silly advance payment
February 1, 2024 at 2:55 pm #257010I didn’t see that.
Wow… that’s some discount. I highly doubt it will be that price for long.

Also take into account the ZR-V is £900 – £1500 cheaper, than the base CH-R, which could be put to petrol and considering your not an high mileage driver, would make it equal if not cheaper to run than your current CH-R.
February 1, 2024 at 3:36 pm #257013Yes that’s what I’m thinking Kezo ?
