I’m sure all of you who have one on order, have been eagerly waiting (as of I) for Q1 24 to see what will be updated… and now the msport is available! (With 3 different packs too).
now the question on my head. If we want to switch to the msport model with the dealer, will they have to raise a whole new order with the factory, or will they be able to trim msport with the original factory slot?

If the optional packs are one or more of those listed on Motability, the AP will reflect the pack/s chosen. If you have added a pack not listed by Motability, that will be between you and the dealer as a contract seperate to Motability.
April 18, 2024 at 10:19 am #275809Hello people After placing an order (bmw ix1) how long doest it take to receive the confirmation? Will I get a get confirmation letter indicating the add ons and final AP I have to pay? Motobility account page is showing the standard ap minus the £750 new car payment even though I’ve added some extras.
The dealer invoice will be the one where you see the total charge, including options. The Motability account will only ever show the AP without options. Nothing to worry about
April 18, 2024 at 10:22 am #275810Just to confirm that it turns out my Sport does have the adaptive cruise control for some very strange reason considering I never asked for it and certainly didn’t pay for it. Took the car on to the motorway today and when the car in front slowed down so did mine and when it stopped so did mine then as it drove off mine followed. I’m not complaining but it is strange you’d get this for free.
Could I just ask, if you go onto the connected drive store in the car, does it still show as available to buy at £750 on yours? Or is it not there?

@Cris it still shows as available to buy ?♂️April 18, 2024 at 11:22 am #275817@Ayzze I picked mine up end of March it wasn’t standard and I paid £750 through connected store.
Looks like @budest has dropped on a mistake by bmw very nice.

No idea what happened @JohnK. I had noticed that when using cruise control the car was braking and speeding up depending on car in front so I came on here to ask about adaptive cruise control because I’d no idea what it even was. It’s obviously been some kind of error on BMWs side.
April 19, 2024 at 8:15 am #275867Those still waiting for delivery how are your production times looking?
expecting my msport with pro pack to go into production on 22nd April currently still looks like it will go ahead, fingers crossed
April 19, 2024 at 10:28 am #275875@budest Yeah you got lucky I tried seeing what it would do on cruise control today and if I didn’t brake I’d hit the back of a car, so I have to adjust the speed myself on the wheel. But it’s not the first time BMW have mistakenly added extra options, they added an option for me that I didn’t choose for free (free because it was their mistake to add it on).
For those that purchased the £750 option, how good is it actually and what does it specifically do other than slowing down and picking up the speed depending on the car in front?

Nice one! I should imagine that the most likely reason is that your car was a cancelled order, diverted to you after build, and the original buyer (or dealer) added it as an option.
April 19, 2024 at 12:16 pm #275882Please could I get some help from anyone who’s got their i4 already.
My dealer screwed up my order. They forgot to option H/K and it’s entered status 150. I’m more than devastated. They said I could either put a new order for the facelift or accept it as it is.
whoever has the standard pro pack I4 (HiFi audio system) how is the audio please? I would really truly appreciate any guidance
April 19, 2024 at 1:09 pm #275887@Ryan I didn’t option the HK and honestly if you haven’t had upgraded speakers on a previous car then the HiFi speakers are pretty good, there’s 10 speakers including 2 under the front seats, the vocals are crisp.
The down side is the bass if you want to compare the two, it isn’t going to be as exaggerated as HK can be and the volume is slightly limited, where HK can be extremely loud at the maximum level, I’ve heard it before it’s deafening. Tbf I used to have the base speakers on the 1 series and this is definitely an upgrade, maybe the iconic sounds the car makes would be more of a surround sound/slightly louder but generally I’m happy with the HiFi.
April 19, 2024 at 1:18 pm #275889i appreciate your input lots. Two questions, Are you able to manually adjust bass on the HiFi? And If given the option to trade in your I4 for four months and to receive a H/K one (all other specs the same) , would you?
April 19, 2024 at 1:36 pm #275891@Ryan Yes you can adjust it, when I first got the car I was disappointed I put the bass and treble to the max and it made a huge difference in sound quality.
In my opinion now that I have it I wouldn’t trade it in just for HK especially if you use the speakers to enjoy music at a high quality sound and not to have a club inside your car. It depends how much you need to have the maximum speaker power.
The base speaker is an awful 100 watts, HiFi has 205 watts and HK has 464 watts, so you can imagine these are in between, I listen to music a lot and think they are good.
However if you had Bose, Bowers and Wilkins, Burmester speakers in the past then maybe you want to get HK.
April 19, 2024 at 2:37 pm #275895@AKX i appreciate your time informing me so much, thankyou greatly
im leaning towards just accepting it without h/k :(, but I will wait until next week to see official facelift unveiling first
April 20, 2024 at 11:44 am #275960April 21, 2024 at 2:18 pm #276010I’m being told by BMW genius (very debatable choice of name) that the Pro Pack I4 35 comes with the base (6speaker) setup. Are you able to confirm that it actually comes with HiFi in the UK without optioning it? Do you have tweeters in your pillars?
Thanks again 🙂

April 21, 2024 at 8:48 pm #276029I’ve confirmed now the ProPack doesn’t even come with HiFi. I’m devastated. Will be reordering due to my dealer screwing up my order and not adding H/K. Feel awful… 7months wait down the drain
April 21, 2024 at 8:55 pm #276030@ryan feel for you bud, what are your options now? You might have to look at an after market upgrade which is a pain but not ideal but at least the option is there I guess..did they say why they didn’t add it on to your build? Was it a mix up? I had to choose between m sport pro or tech pack did go with tech pack in the end think the m sport is sporty enough and love my music and heads up display is a nice touch
April 21, 2024 at 9:02 pm #276031@Ayzee
they tried to deny liability by claiming the option wasn’t available to add on during the time of the order and now it is, which is a total lie, and makes it even worse. They said accept the car how it is (wrong spec) or re-order for another 5 or so month wait. I’ve been eagerly waiting its arrival checking the status with genius daily – so it’s heart breaking to hear. Totally torn on choicesApril 21, 2024 at 9:08 pm #276032@Ryan it doesn’t sound like your dealer is trustworthy. Thats soo annoying for you. As its now come off motability, how would your dealer agree the new code with motability ?? im sure there is a way but does he guarantee it.
April 21, 2024 at 9:11 pm #276033@Mm7 Motability have already accepted the application for the I4 7months ago. The order the dealer makes with the factory is completely independent of that, it would just be as if the cars delivery was delayed
April 21, 2024 at 9:35 pm #276034oh i see so you went for the pro pack m sport and added £900 for the hk system and he didn’t add it on and now its gone to 150 status.
i hope they are offering you something for their errors maybe 20% off extras or something.April 21, 2024 at 9:50 pm #276036@Mm7 yes! That is exactly what happened word for word, it’s still 150 (production week starting tomorrow), but it’s doomed now, H/K was so important to me (hence why I was happy to pay £900). I’m not sure how Motability will feel about aftermarket audio upgrades
April 21, 2024 at 10:05 pm #276039Terrible! Its a difficult one because overall you would be waiting a whole year for it. On the positive an extra 4 months would mean you get the car you want, a face lift model and hopefully some gesture of goodwill to reduce the AP or discount off extra’s for their mistakes.
I would be tempted to put in a complaint and speak to the manager and say you wont be leaving a good review on the motability website under the dealers and then make a decision after that. Theyr’re probably unbothered about you cancelling it as they know someone else will take the car.
April 23, 2024 at 10:30 am #276212BMW genius don’t know about their own products so I suggest not listening to everything they’re telling you because BMW configurator lacks information therefore they assume based on what they read. I am very aware that the Pro pack does not mention HiFi speakers which is why prior to collecting my i4 I was not too happy but I LITERALLY own the car and I drive it everyday, M Sport Pro consists of 4 speakers at the front doors, 2 woofers under the front seats, 2 at the rear doors, 1 in the center dash and 1 woofer hidden in the rear I believe.
If you were to have base speakers you do not have a center dash speaker, I had 6 speakers in my 2020 BMW and visually there were only 4 speakers, 2 at the front and 2 at the back in the entire car (with 2 under the seats = 6).
These HiFi speakers are definitely better than the base speakers, even when I went to pick up the car collection day I asked the dealer why he informed me via email it has base speakers and he denied he ever told me that. Iconic sounds require HiFi speakers at the minimum for a good experience and I guarantee you that it has 10 speakers, 7 you can visually see and 3 under the seats.
