I’m sure all of you who have one on order, have been eagerly waiting (as of I) for Q1 24 to see what will be updated… and now the msport is available! (With 3 different packs too).
now the question on my head. If we want to switch to the msport model with the dealer, will they have to raise a whole new order with the factory, or will they be able to trim msport with the original factory slot?

Now thats a fantastic looking car. Its the same spec i had on order before changing to m sport… must say the blue on it looks better than i thought. congrats!
February 23, 2024 at 2:12 am #259191I agree with the rest, those dealers are being difficult for no reason. My dealer changed my model to Msport in less than a week and changed it on the motability account. My i4 arrived in storage last week and I also requested that I get a March collection date to register it as a 24 plate which they were happy to do and had no issues with it. Crazy how the other dealerships are behaving it’s sad to see which is not a good look for BMW to be honest.
One thing I’m not looking forward for though is that weak 6 speaker system with 100w amp. Wish I forked out the extra £900 for the HK system as I heard the base model speaker sysyem is total pants! Kind of regretting it now as the 10 speaker Hi-fi which I thought it had would of been okay at least!
February 23, 2024 at 7:52 am #259199I did have issues over pick up with the salesperson adamant that the car could not be held and had to be registered straight away, I asked to speak to the manager to complain as my argument was that I’d been told when ordering that the car would be ready in November that if I had to wait 3 months longer than they said then they could wait a week longer for me to collect. The manager was excellent, he couldn’t apologise more for the fact the salesperson gave me incorrect information on the seats and told me he’d have the car ready for me to come in and see whenever I want to make sure the seats where OK. I thought he might have been funny over a handover date and say the first was fully booked, but he took me into the sales office and I was given the option to pick any time to collect so I’ll be picking the car up at 10 o’clock on Friday the first. He told me that it’s purely down to the managers discretion whether to hold a car and it’s obvious that the dealers that won’t just want to boost February’s numbers. I’d advise anyone having problems to ask to complain to the manager, especially mentioning the fact that they are months late on delivery anyway.
February 23, 2024 at 10:46 am #259216@Matt (& all others waiting excitedly)
I’ve had mine since November ‘23 and I can assure you you will not be disappointed when you pick up next Friday.
Same colour as mine (if that’s Mineral White) only I specced the 19” alloys, tints & lumbar support.Car has been faultless so far – smooth, silent & relaxing to drive or can go like sh*t off a shovel when & if you want it to. Try putting it into Sport mode and put your foot down where safe to do so and watch the smile grow on your face.
Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone come pick up ??
February 23, 2024 at 10:57 am #259222@Silverfox48 thanks for the update, it is mineral white and tinted, no lumbar support as I’ve had it on my last few cars and due to my problems it seems to make things worse. It’s good to hear your loving the car, I know what you mean about s*it of a shovel! I had an extended test drive for a weekend and I’ve never smiled so much in sports mode, but the other half wasn’t happy because she kept banging her head on the headrest when I put my foot down!! How are you finding the range, what’s your average mpkwh?
February 23, 2024 at 11:03 am #259223Apologies if you have mentioned this before but, what wrong information were you given on the seats?
February 23, 2024 at 11:12 am #259225Range has been decent for me – averaging since November just over 3 miles per kw/h.
Been sitting around 180 – 200 miles on a full charge which bodes well for when the better weather comes in. I can easily see the range increasing to between 250 – 300 miles in Spring & Summer.I’ve learned not to be too concerned about range as I can easily plug in outside my front door and charge overnight for a couple of pounds and I’m good to go. Also, I notice a lot of the Tesla supercharger stations have opened up to non-Tesla owners at a decent cost if you were traveling any distance and didn’t want to use the rip-off Motorway services ??
February 23, 2024 at 12:20 pm #259231I’ve just had an email from my dealer who now says March collection will be fine. I’m now booked in to collect on 5th March. I did back them into a corner as I said due to having no communication or notice when to expect the car I don’t have funds available until the 1st week of March. Happy days I’ll be on a ’24’ plate now.
February 23, 2024 at 12:27 pm #259234@Silverfoxx60 That’s great to hear, as you say range won’t be a concern as it will just get popes on charge each night. It’ll be good to be able to have some fun without having to worry about mpg dropping to below 20!
@Kezo I was told the seats had a base you could adjust the angle on, number 3 in the image, the car I test drove had it but the i4 edrive 35 sport doesn’tFebruary 23, 2024 at 12:27 pm #259235February 23, 2024 at 4:39 pm #259249I’ve just had an email from my dealer who now says March collection will be fine. That’s great Edd.
I had a robust discussion with the Sales Manager this afternoon and we are also now picking up the car on a 24 plate on March 1st.
I still don’t know why he was previously so insistent that it had to go out in February, he mentioned that he was following Motability guidelines in shipping it out swiftly, but also that they are currently overstocked with cars.
Anyway, all is well!

Bit of a push and shove here usually gets the job done when your persistent. Just goes to show that it was possible to collect in March all along and the dealers were playing games. Disappointing to say the least..
February 26, 2024 at 8:29 am #259444I will be taking delivery earlier than expected! 5/6th March. Car’s arrived but the dealer made sure it’d be a 24 plate without asking.
Not had my Ohme installed yet so I’m a little anxious about taking delivery when I’m not 100% ready for an EV.

February 28, 2024 at 5:16 pm #259742Hi guys. Anyone else found switching from sport to m sport an incredible nightmare?Has been a month since requesting the change to m sport. We were on code 111 with the sport when we requested a swap to m sport and sales rep at Marshall was aware of this.
Have just been told a few days ago that they are waiting allocation of the vehicle upgrade and then can switch it over. In the meantine original order with sport is about to go into production already, not motability website nor the order has been updated to m sport. What does that even mean waiting allocation of the vehicle upgrade ? Have seen other comments where they switched it immediately keeping the same bmw order number.February 28, 2024 at 6:30 pm #259752Was tempted to change but from past bmw experience know how good the harmen karmen system is over the standard so can put up with the lighter interior
last 3 cars have had dark interior roof ?
February 28, 2024 at 9:19 pm #259772@marky36 I also ordered from Marshall’s and it was almost straight forward. The rep did it via phone as he told me he couldn’t do it online so he called bmw planning team and kept the same order just changed the model but my motability order didn’t change until last week which is fine as my build is on week 12.
theres others on here where dealers did both together with no issues.

Hey, congrats, I hope all goes well and you’re pleased ?
February 29, 2024 at 10:23 pm #259881@Rowein I’m picking mine up in the morning and can’t wait. Good to hear that you’ll keep everyone informed on your thoughts of the car, it seems like lots of people come onto the forum a month or two before they order and once they’ve picked up their new car that’s all you hear from them for 3 years. It would be nice if everyone that’s able leaves a little review of their new car, no matter what the car is and no matter how short or long the review, all information helps. It’s hard to find good real reviews, and it helps to hear about things that are of more relevance to people with disabilities. But really I just like looking at pictures of shiny new cars ☺️ I hope the wait for others goes quickly and everyone’s happy with their cars
March 1, 2024 at 1:35 am #259883March 1, 2024 at 9:26 am #259889I’m due to pick mine up middle of this month, must admit I’m both nervous and excited. Nervous because I’ve always driven mid sized hatchbacks, A class merc currently and this will be by far the longest car I’ve driven, also nervous about charging it. I’ve got a home charger and joined the Ohme / octopus intelligence Facebook group and obviously only people post their problems but it weirdly does seem less than plain sailing for a lot of folks
March 1, 2024 at 9:47 am #259892MARCH IS HERE. I hope to see everyone’s i4 and all the specs everyone has opted in for, would be good to see some pictures very soon, will also be picking mine up mid March.
I’m hearing even when pushing the car it averages about 220-250 miles which is decent because it will be no issue even on 100-150 mile all-round trips and fast chargers will only take 20-30 mins to get fully charged I’m sure it’ll be way easier to live with once we have it and get used to it.
