The prices change on the 1st of April so it could go up.

maybe the salesperson is aware that the price is going to go up and is just trying to be helpful?

I renewed my license at the end of last year took a few months because it had to to through the DVLA’s medical department but luckily they renewed mine for 10 years. The DVLA were subject to a parliamentary committee review last year that was far from flattering and the outcome was that the DVLA was branded archaic and in urgent need of upgrading it’s systems. I’d recommend you get your license in to them as soon as you can because once it’s passed on to their medical department it will vanish into a void for at least a couple of months. Even ringing their CS team won’t help because they openly admit that they have no way of contacting the medical department once they have your license and you just have to wait for it to go through whatever processes that department deam neccessary. Good news is whilst your license is at the DVLA you should be covered by section 88 that means you can still drive your vehicle whilst the DVLA sort your license out up to a period of 12 months

                thanks for the reply.

I just hope this has no problem with me going to order my new car in a few weeks as by then my license will have expired.

Had a test drive this morning. good smooth drive and spacious inside will likely go for this car as it ticks most of the boxes.

Just read your comment on re the doors on the ZRV not opening very wide, which of course won’t be an issue in the QQ, as the door open at nearly 90 degree’s. Its a nice car ?

yeah just need to find a dealer with a great deal on the ap?

Just back from a test drive.

drive feels very smooth and good mpg

unfortunately not a lot of room in the back and the doors don’t open very wide

although demo car had side steps so that was a factor.

@waltersoprano1 You really really need to take a test drive in a car first. You only get so far with other peoples comments. Do yourself a favour and arrange a visit and test drive at the Nissan garage to make sure the car meets your requirements. Motability encourages you to do so. Besides, Nissan has quite a lot of good vehicles besides the QQ!

I physically can’t test drive cars myself so relie on my brothers comments when he tests drives the car for me. We had booked to test drive the Honda and QQ on Friday but something  came up with my brothers work so we had to cancel both. But we’ll get it done over the next week or so.

we managed to test drive the Renault Arkana and that’s firmly off the list.

Hi, Sorry about not commenting earlier – Just got back from a nice long Lunch in Windsor and chat with a former colleague’, wasting our pensions on good food and plenty of good cheer Kezo! The ePower covered the 36.7 miles (22 on the M4 ) in 42 minutes door to door and returned 52 mpg, mainly in Sport drive, cruise switched off as was the ePedal – no restrictions and almost in silence, most of the way, and I thoroughly enjoyed the instant extremely smooth acceleration when overtaking For the return journey in standard drive with ePedal on – the fuel computer Recorded 65.7mpg! It was 1 year old on Wednesday and has covered now, slightly over 10,000 miles, with no breakdown or repair and mostly in smooth, ‘speedy ‘silence , averaging over the full 12 months and covering 9874 miles to Wednesday evening, some 47.7 mpg – all in all a very good car.

                              thanks for the information.

@Mike 700 has one and has done lengthy posts on it several times. I guess he will have to come out of retirement to do another! Well worth the addtinal £300 in fuels savings.

Thanks. I’ll look up his name.

Fid you find Mike’s posts on the QQ. He gets around 52-53mpg. Whils’t its not got the wow factor as the cabin of the Austral, the running gear IMHO is far superior in the QQ. The ZR-V wotks in a similar way to the QQ, where the engine acts as a generator but whils’t the engine doesn’t drive the wheels in the QQ it does in the ZR-V, especially in sport mode. For £500 you won’t go wrong with the top spec Honda with all the spec’s on it.

yeah I did. Sounds like an interesting car.

Can place a order for new car in mid feb so hope Honda is still on there to make the choice difficult ?

                                thanks for your help

My first car, a Wolseley 16/60 (farina) auto, had a column change but on the left. I’ve only a right arm but tbh you really only use it when at a standstill anyway and it was never a problem doing it with the ‘wrong’ hand. If you haven’t gone and tried it out yet I really would suggest you do so first before ruling anything out.

I was in the Renault showroom yesterday and spoke to one of their product geniuses who asked the mobi guy if it could be adapted but it turned out it couldn’t.

just going to look at the Nissan QQ and Honda zr v

Had a look at this yesterday. The rear middle seat is pretty small.
That and the small boot size is all that was putting me off.

I’m okay with them adding vehicles at any time but I think any vehicles available on the scheme they should honour until the end of the quarter. Obviously this might not always be possible if manufacturers are looking to move on the last few of an older model but that sort of limited offer should be clearly stated on the web site. No more adding/removing/adding the same vehicles a few days apart

I wonder why they do that.

I was told by the dealer that there isn’t a big allocation to motab for these, so they think they’ll run out of allocation by start of Feb.

if that’s true that’ll be one less option to choose from for me

i think you have to ask to put it to the ap and the residue will be paid to you. so you will need to cover the adaption yourself initially. my ap in may was less than the ap and thats what happened they paid the ap and put the rest in my bank same day. but to be sure give them a ring or send a query via the website.
