What I would really like to see is less bickering on this forum.

        I agree

I thought dealers would’ve leaked more pricelists by now?

It doesn’t look like you can from the options listed on Volvo site.

              Thanks

hopefully the top spec is added soon.

Not a fan of gear stalks, but one can reasonably disregard the “P(ark)” problem, since the button is redundant. The car will pull the (electric) handbrake on the traffic lights itself, and apply the parking brake when you turn the car off. We had cars with electric handbrakes for 5 years now, not a single time did i have to use the button to manually apply the handbrake. I would assume that the Austral has a similar system, it at least has the button to activate the automatic handbrake (right hand side towards the knee). For the lever itself, i’m not a professional and i don’t exactly know the range of motion you have, but i am reasonably certain that this can be adapted pretty easily, even home made with a 3d printer. For the most basic of options, you just need to zip tie a slightly bent stick to it, to be able to actuate it from the left. I’m just suggesting this janky solution as an argument to point out that it’s a rather simple solution, not to suggest you should actually do it yourself. Further, it’s an electric gearbox (as in, you don’t physically move something to get it into gear), so more sophisticated solutions should be able to relocate the lever entirely – it’d be just a matter of relocating (or extending) the cable that signals the gearbox what to do. Potentially even turn it into buttons rather than a lever, depending on what other (if any) controls are located on that stalk. All in all, i do think it’s possible to adapt the column shift to something you can use, the question simply boils down to finding it (and MB willing to pay for it). The real question would be, is it worth doing so over just finding an alternative (as long as they still exist). After having driven two cars with column shift, i don’t even understand why they’re a thing. They’re not more convenient, and they add nothing. Especially in the Austral, where there is already a huge “lever” type design element in the centre console anyway, just make that the gear stick.

I’m going to contact mota in the new year and see if there’s anything they can do.

I’ve had the same nightmare as Waltersoprano while viewing the reviews of the new VW Tiguan that also has the shift on the right-hand side of the steering column. For myself who also uses a remote control on the wheel for basic function of the car means they have moved the wiper control from the usable right to the out of reach left. They do do a remote spinner that controls the wipers so wouldn’t be a problem there but it means a lot more buttons to manage without taking my eyes off the road and I already get the looks when I sometimes hit the horn instead of the indicator. Of course the wipers are automatic but sometimes I just need a quick flick on the wiper control when there’s muck on the screen that needs a single wash and wipe. I don’t know if the OP can test drive a car without the adaptions they need but for me its out of the question as its a spinner and remote controls for indicators. Lucky for myself I’ve a couple of years at least before I need to look for a car but as if its not hard enough finding something that can carry a scooter in the boot and is easy to get in and out of we now have to contend with where the sodding gear shift is too. ?

my brother test drives cars for me so it’s not much of a issue. I’ve not seen many reviews mention that the gear changer has moved I only noticed because I noticed it in a photo.

Are there not any adaptions available?

I’m not sure. I could contact Renault UK.

has anyone on here had a gearstick modified before?

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about. This is the new gear changer

Had something similar with my T Roc.

satnav would go mad, traffic sign recognition would show wrong limits, sos button would light up.

after parking the car for 10 mins the system would reset.

No doubt the charger will be broke.

could be a staff members car to stop people attempting to use it

take a photo of it and send it to the company that own the vans ?

Went in to look at minis a few years ago. Was told that the specialist was at the bmw up the road and was just left to view the cars myself. No offer of another salesperson to talk me through the car etc. In the end just went back to Renault who in my area treat customers well.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Personally,</p> I’d say hopefully not. Just on the basis SUV drivers have sufficient choice as it is. Many who need lower cars with large doors for transferring from wheelchair to driver’s seat are very limited. Next to zero choice. Unless they balance the choice and say put the C class coupe on the 3 door version.. I don’t see the need for them to have another SUV type made available

That’s not very nice. You need to contact them if you disapprove of car availability. As has been discussed before the production of 3 door cars has decreased a lot in the past 10 years

All of them included in AP,unless you want a seperate roof colour, but design at the AP price with seperate roof colour comes as standard I went for the SEL DSG Auto AP £499.00 plus black roof £430.00 total payment £929.00 so quite happy for a £2900.00 plus car, did not like silver white, can look a bit grey so got the pure white

do you have a date for delivery yet ?

I ordered first week in March and have been giving 16th June for delivery.

just had a look at the troc configorator, ye gods thats a complicated bunch of paint choices. how do they justify pure white being 375 and pure white with black roof being 805. and in your case silver met white being 625 and with black roof 1055. crazy. vw really do make the most of their options list lol. so what paint is free with them, are any of them??

you get any paint colour for free. It’s the two tone colour that cost more since it two colours.

if the person wants white silver metallic it’s free. If he wants white silver metallic and black roof it’s £400.

I went for one colour as I didn’t want pay for a black roof.

is this for the T roc ? If so you get two different shades of white. Pure white and white silver metallic.

                                                  I went for Ravenna blue
