Just like every other brand I believe sales were hit when tesla dropped prices, it is not hard to work out that with other brands taking teslas sales due to more reasonable prices comparision, the tesla dropped their prices and the other brands loose sales. think about it this way. the amount of people I have spoken too at chargers state if telsas would of been cheaper like now they would of got a telsa as their motor is the most efficent out there, not their terrably inefficent id’s.

I get EV’s in a big way, I pay £8 with loss to charge my 77kwh battery, in the summer (now) I get about 300 ish of mixed motorway and country a road driving and some small amount of market town driving.

then in winter its about 250 ish miles for the same amount, there is no diesel or petrol that can match that, yes I try to be eco… more so with my pocket.

Nice long trip up to Lancaster University yesterday, 155 miles both ways at 3 hours each way. on the way back, around 8pm, we stopped at Keele services south on the M6, interesting that only one of the disabled bays was occupied, then found out why. walking into the services, the main eateries are over the bridge. unfortunately, no lift available and the escalator was corderned off and not working. Only way to the bridge was up some three flights of stairs! Wife was fuming, as there was no provision for disabled guests. so drove on to Stafford services, great station, only wired thing us that the WHSmiths is self serve? Strange, perhaps the loss of fraud against staff if financially viable At all service stations, Lancaster, Keele, and Stafford plenty of gridserve chargers available, at Keele, the Tesla chargers were very busy ( what do you call a bunch of Teslas? A battery? Wife though a twxt of Teslas lol)

Their is a reason you see tesla chargers full during busy periods and that christmas in the papers article, my parents live 15 minutes from a services, I decided to charge at one on christmas day and went in a saw the massive queue for the tesla chargers and laughed as I parked into a gridserve bay (which they can still use with adaptor that comes with the car) which was 1 of 10 and only me and one person were using them… what I do know with a friend having a new tesla is that he got 1 year of free use at the supercharges, which is why they are all always full.

The statement reads to me (and I am not judging you so please dont take offence) you spoke to this dealer and explained your issues, they decided to help you out and do something they should have not without the ok from motability and that is deliver the car to you and have you enter the pin at home. It was forgot as in your state, you were probably happy to have a person to talk to that you felt comfortable with. So for some reason during this they and you forgot to do the pin, the next day the boo boo was noticed and not unreasonably they asked you to return the car if you could not come in and do the pin as if they would travel to you again for this they would be a loss and down on money.

I wonder did you then call motability to have a complain, which in turn put the dealer who had try to help you out in a lot of trouble with motability for not following the correct procedure, what you should of done is ask the dealer how to fix the situation, your first question when they said you needed to come back in the car should of been, can I come and sit outside in the car and enter pin on the tablet why I am sitting outside…

Again I may be wrong, but I am presuming this might be the case

            @oscarmax
please be careful with your wording here, just because someone has panic attacks and fills anxious and does not want to leave their home, does not mean they are not fit to drive, I know I dont like going out much, I dont do public transport because of ptsd, but I still drive, infact the car is my second home, I am very comfortable in it!… and thats not even my disability the ptsd, although it could be easily.

Do you think they’ve got the prices mixed up on the website? I mean, it’s super great that the Skoda Eniac has come down so much booked an ID5 for 2 1/2 grand seems too much like a good thing?? Unfortunately, I’m looking for all electric are very affordable, full four-wheel-drive large SUV. Only full 4wd is crap base spec X-Trail (shame I’d jump at higher specs!), the Tucson top spec hybrid (but only 30 odd MPG)…. Was hoping to see what Volvo offered but alas nothing – But an I.d 5 for £2.5k in RWD is very tempting!!

well if you can squeeze the budget, the 7999 kia ev6 is 4wd and does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds 😛

Is it not the case that the EU said all phone chargers need to USB Type C, don’t know when it will be enforced but I remember Apple not being happy about it.

the next apple phone has to be usb-c to be sold in eu.

on tesla chargers I use them and I dont have a tesla, if you install the tella app you get option to select charge my non tesla and it will point you to the chargers that have been upgraded with the adaptor to fit your car.  my favorite chargers tbh as they are cheaper than everyone else.

to put this complaint to bed, having a spoiler that allows airflow to go over the window is a no no really as rain will get on window much easier than splashback from the rear, so there should of 100% been a wiper.

But really I thought everyone put rain x ceramic, or a ceramic coating on front and rear window, I have for years and hardly ever use wipers on anything over 45, I only reach for the wiper stalk when its really heavy.

@johebr Phone Motability, your answer is there….

nope in wont be, if dealer has registered a ultimate as a gsline, or a misshap at the factory order sheet it will show as a gsline, this does happen on rare occation believe it or not, vin will show as gs line, registration will show but it was missbuilt to higher spec on  the line, A good example of this was with bmw 5 years ago the line had 1000 cars to produce all but 200 were sport the rest were msport versions, vins say they were, as did paperwork, but only 197 were built in sport version..

Bmw let the customers have the free upgrade, but they stayed as sport.

to be honest if your budget can stretch to the ionic 5 ultimate, that is the most fully loaded car on the scheme in my opionion. if you have another 900 you can add the tech pack  that features Remote Smart Park Assist (RSPA), Parking Collision Avoidance (PCA), Automatic flush door handles, driver seat position memory function and relaxation seats on both driver and passenger seats. if range is more you thing and its not to low the ionic 6 premium is the right one to go, its only second to telsla globally for efficency.

the nissan in evolve trim is pretty much fully loaded, but even advance trim is good.. there are some good options on cars at the moment but the price is steep. the ionic 5 ultimate does have a lot though and the cooling seats really do help in the summer (i dont have one a friend does) i have tried the ev6 and loved the power, but a 8 month old demo with 6k on it should not be rattling (noises) like it was so it was 100% crossed off.

I know nothing about this case, but it has always been the case that Motability orders are worth a lot more to dealers than just the handling fee, so nothing new there. Motability orders count towards group and manufacturer volume targets which can result it bonuses or additional discounts worth thousands. That’s why some dealers offer discounts to Motability customers that are way above the handling fee – yet still make a profit!

yes I look at it as once a dealer lies to you, walk away even if it means a longer drive, also if looking for a deal be prepared to travel, a dealership that has competition the same distance from you as another is quite happy to negotiate some times, when i got my tiguan tech pack 5 years ago, it had leather, upgraded stereo and pearly paint all which I got for free.  It used to be every quater, but from what I heard they manfuactures have switched the target discount to monthly.

easee is a great charger, but the Ohnie is compatible with all smart tarrifs including ovo, the renault is compatible though and it does not matter what charger you have. But I would go with the Ohnnie as if you went with ovos plan you would always be stuck choosing a compatible car

Very ugly motor, would not drive that even if they gave me the 2.5k IMO.

lol have to agree Think the design team need a fine this time

phone the charger company and tel the your not happy that you in the car and still no charger and ring motability too.

that range sounds about right but o be honest is good most evs you can knock 20% off the claimed range especially when you add motorways into the journey.

the extras are too much and at my age I look at why pay 8k for a car with extras when you can get one with those extras std for that, then like it is said above if someone rear ends you causing a write of you loose heavily.

Let us know how you get on please? Looking at both of these yesterday, but none were available to test drive unfortunately. I liked the higher driving position of the Ioniq 5 but preferred the wrap around cockpit of the EV6. Either one though are both stunning to look at. Leaning more towards the EV6 GT Line AWD because of the impressive performance figures. I’m also lucky enough to have free 150kw charging at my place of work.

well the ev6 was dropped from the list ride felt like a xr3i from the 80s (a bit bumpy and rattly in cabin on a car thats done 10k the id5 felt good but seats not as comfortable as the megane e-tech ones and I place my back comfort over all things, for once a car manufacture was not lying about having the seats ergo designed.

one more to test (the id5) then it looks like its a megane.

A very good review what worries me is the low 160 mile range in the cold winter ?

I read it all, that was because he left the car not in use for a long period, all ev’s will loose range if battery gets completely cold.

he missed a lot of points too, in winter if regularly used its about 185 to 200 (all ev’s suffer range loss in winter), this last month I have been at 250 to 275.  I have seen peoples post who only drive in cities at 308.

the tech is very helpful for people like us, especially when paired with a google home hub and smart products at home. you can tell google (cars os) to set your heating to 21 in winter 10 mins before you are home, if you have a smart bulb on driveway your car can turn it on for you via voice etc, there are many pluses to this car.

I am not a Tesla fan but their is a reason they outsell most ev’s space wise yess model 3 is smaller, but interior space is not compared to ice equivalent.  It depends what you need, model y is not as efficient but those numbers you have quoted are winter numbers. Would it get a Tesla model 3, no it’s too low for me. But not all of us need high seated cars. But I am sure many others on the scheme would benefit from it don’t you.

as for the controls well Tesla voice is second to non and doing anything is only a voice command away, the same can be said though of any car  with android automotive (currently only megane etech and austral) but if Volvo get back on the scheme, this also allows you to watch Netflix l, prime, Disney if you have an account to those as well as YouTube why charging.

It were tesla does knock others down a peg, their motors are much more efficent that all the brands.
