It is a bit strange. Google suggests that quite a few people had the email but never owned Renaults. Maybe owned one of the brands under their umbrella?

Also think the 3rd party was a financial part of the company are something like that. Why would a financial part of the company have my details if I’m not the customer?

Finally absolutely nothing about it online from Renault themselves. Maybe they rushed the email out and are now locked in talks with the legal eagles to get them to make it a soft landing for them lol

If I had to renew today and EV was out id order this and I’m basing it mostly on the fact that the old model I had as a hire car impressed me so much, especially the comfortable seats. I can only imagine it has got better.

Oh and in my personal taste I think this and the e3008 are the best looking cars on the road now.

When you were in the showroom did you see the mg cyberster? I’m not really a car man, but that was stunning in the red colour.

        Enjoy the wagon!

Mine was ordered in November last year and can be kept for the 5 years. Ack there’s a big thread already on it and an interesting one.

Yeah never thought about the fact that it was a third party. Mind probably buried in the T&C’s that they will/can do it.

The funniest call was this morning. I don’t answer numbers I don’t recognise unless I’m expecting a call. So a voice message was left in what sounded like am Asian Chinese accent with the worst broken English I’ve heard telling me I need to do x y z as my insurance with my GP had run out.

The last two forms I filled in for people both got 10 year awards. 1. Epilepsy 1. Diabetes.

Brian damage and heart transplant at some stage = 3 year award. It doesn’t make sense tbh. But it’s one thing I never fret about as I know that I’ve a lot of medical evidence to back me up. So I’ll should be doing my forms again around the same time I’ll be picking my next car.

That’s my award through and no changes. Same amount same time frame. How they expect someone to improve after a brain haemorrhage, 5 TIAs and two vasospasm strokes in the next three years is amazing.

Must tell my neurology team that the DFC are thinking I’ll improve in three years lol.

Also just done the switch over to universal credit this morning which was straightforward enough. Except for id verification which was sorted over the phone.

Irony. Just got a text there informing me it’s done and I should receive a reply within two weeks.

So about seven months I believe.

I’ve two people waiting on their reviews to be looked at and they are 5 and 6 months now. And my own was that long ago I can’t even remember when it was sent in.

But as Kezo says we have all had confirmation that they were received and that’s the main thing.

My contract which was signed on the 22/11/24 states.

The hire term is for a minimum period of three years starting on the date of delivery of the vehicle (the “minimum hire term”), but continuing thereafter until either the expiry of a period of twenty four months following the minimum hire term (the “maximum hire term”) or the date on which this agreement is terminated in accordance with the terms set out in the contract hire terms and conditions (ref T&C’s 9/24)(the “conditions”) which ever is earlier.

Sounds like I can extend mine.

Mines is old school lol. Just plug and play and all schedules set by car. It does have a key to lock it but I never use it. Car locks connector in and can only be took out when keys are present.

All my handovers have taken 15-20 minutes. I just tell them I know the car already so don’t need to go over everything. Check car out, sign, then I’m away for a good drive.

Scenic was longer because they would not accept mix of cash and card. But even then it was quick.

If you’ve picked a car and looked in to it well you’ll probably know that model better than the salesman. In out drive it about.

Edit some of my paper work was done online before I went, maybe that’s why it was quicker.

Brydo the smart cruise control on the scenic etech brings it to a whole new level. It can read the speed signs. So if I’m approaching a roundabout it sees the first roundabout sign and the sign below says slow down it starts slowing down and as long as the round about is clear it will slow you down to go through and speed up coming out. It may seem a bit slow but you can accelerate a touch and it won’t effect the settings of SC.

Also reads the road. There is a section of motorway near me with a fairly sharp bend. There are no reduce speed signs at it, but anything over 70 will be dodgy especially if wet. The car automatically reduces the speed to 65 before speeding up coming out of it. It does this in any road that has bad bends in it. Very clever indeed.

I also know what you mean about CC and flicking it on and off to whilst reading the road. So we were EV driving before EVs were a thing lol

Is overstay charges a thing everywhere? They don’t half make public chargers expensive if you need the miles. I only need it on long drives in Ireland and it’s usually between 5 – 10 euro and always applies if going over 80%. I’ve never left a car that has a full charge but believe it’s a similar fine.

Often wondered if those without home charger just grab a little electric every time they can on errands so it wouldn’t apply. Or would they prefer to just stay a while and go to 100% in which case an expensive overstay charge applies.

Head for me as heart says toys and tbh they are mostly meh. Head says comfort above all else.

Terrible car. Or maybe the early production ones were. My boot would randomly open and it wasn’t just mine as the Peugeot mechanic said he took one home and the boot opened on that one.

Most people are smitten by it’s looks and are over looking some problems because of it’s looks. Even the Facebook group had to go private due to the amount of people coming on and slating it. And Peugeot were not just useless to deal with but also rude. Stellantlis not the dealer who was good.

Had an update yesterday and it’s cleared up the infotainment screen which is good, bar that I ain’t noticed much else.

Bandit I sat in an R5 yesterday, cracking wee car. It’s got a biggish R5 logo on the bonnet that lights up which I liked. Also had the adopter for V2L which I’ve been trying to get my hands on. Before I plugged it in I searched all the menus for V2L stuff and nowt came up. When I plugged it in the driver’s cluster just looked as if it was ready for a charge, this was to set the limit on how much juice you want to use. I might go down to my dealership and see if he has one to plug into mine just to see what happens.

If Peugeot are doing an update at some stage id imagine Renault will do the same.

I live in hope of V2L lol

I’m not. I did read it and while I agree with some things I’m neither here nor there on others.

When I first became disabled I refused to believe it and tried to work so it was around year before I claimed benefits and in that time I had blown my savings just paying bills etc, so when I had to order my first car I had to go 0 ap as it’s all I had. Over the years I’ve learnt that I had to save to get better cars. My next car was £700ap and next £3k. I made a lot of sacrifices to do it, but done it and enjoyed my cars.

I do believe that others are not willing to sacrifice and save much to pay high ap’s. I also know that others just can’t as I was one of them. But I never begrudged they guy on here ordering a high ap Merc while all’s I could get is a 0ap Astra. That’s life.

I know little about markets etc but everything is up and even when wholesale prices come down our prices don’t. It’s just a fing scam. So a 30-50k car with everything thrown in at say 2k – 4k is value in my eyes. Yes I would like lower ap’s but it ain’t happening. All this reserve money I’ve no idea but I would like to see autos subsided to manual prices and those that need WAVs get more. And how many cars are being returned for little or no problems, again I believe some peoples heads are being turned by other cars not long after they’ve picked up their own. I’ve done it, mind it was only an ordered car that didn’t even have a build date.

Could more be done, yes. That goes for everyone. Mobility, the customers and DWP. Will it happen, probably not.

My biggest gripe now is that mobility used to be easy and pleasant to deal with. From my own experience and reading others experience on here that’s not the case anymore.

For us the lease holder it’s by far the best, unless you’ve a spare 10-20k lying in the bank which I don’t. My last check was £180 but Tuesday ain’t far away lol.

Ps I hope this hasn’t come across rude or belittling in any way.

I’m on the lower end of a two wage (one benefits) household.

It felt natural because it’s just a car, an automatic car 🤷‍♂️ If you’re planning on doing long trips then have a practice at rapid charging when you’ve got time and not stressed, better that than the first time being when it’s dark and you’re desperate. Wait till winter comes and you get to use preheating 👌 You’ll soon wonder what all the scaremongering and doomsday posters were worried about 😂 Enjoy your new car when it comes and hopefully you saved a few quid on the AP 🤞 (or get back on the phone to the dealer 😉)

Two completely different types of car. Here’s just a few things that I was concerned about and a few things that caught me out because I didn’t know about them and it didn’t happen in my ice cars.

Wheel spin when trying to get out at junctions, the Kona was bad for it and took a bit of getting used to, the scenic isn’t bad. The EV wobble, 1st time it happened I shit them. Thinking there’s something wrong with the car as I thought it was losing power, I didn’t know that eco restricts power. Same when I thought the heating was broken, again just eco mode. I still haven’t thrown any of the EVs around country roads like I would have my ice cars as I’m not to sure about weight and or how it’s distributed in and ev.

Two cars but completely different setups which is why some people worry about swapping one for the other.

Manic I don’t know about the ioniq but I had the Kona and think Hyundai probably have the best EVs on the road. Enjoy.

My last car a Kona didn’t have one and my current car scenic e-tech does and I see absolutely no difference at all. Both have the same range bearing in mind I’d expect a bigger more modern battery in the scenic to be better. Nope I’m still getting about 220 miles range.

Just this last month I seem to be having a problem that others have mentioned in that the scenic does not heat well. The Kona was a steady 21 degrees and nice and so was the scenic. But just recently it blows out cold air up to 23 degrees and I need to set it at 24+ sometimes I have to put it on at full pelt just to warm the car and the burning smell is not nice at that temp.

Funny a doctor just told me last week in hospital that I’m always hypothermic as my body temperature is always around 33.2 to 33.7 lol.

I have had both the e3008 and scenic e-tech and the scenic superior in every way, well except looks. Scenic has big wide doors and tons of leg and head room. The e3008 is definitely not the car you want if it’s room you’re looking for as the cockpit style of it really restricts space.

I would not put anybody of it due to problems I had with the e3008 as I just got a rubbish car. But range is poor compared to scenic e-tech. Boot is bigger mind. Similar ap for different spec. But the e3008 has very little spec anyway.
