Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.

So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

It’s the Enyaq that’s 580 litres wasnt talking about the 5 there. What I meant was given the very small difference between the figures it’s surprising how very much more practical the Enyaqs boot is you cannot put two medium sized dogs in the 5 comfortably and putting my boot scooter in the 5 left very little room for suitcases, you’d be using smaller bags to fit in around it instead As for a banana box haven’t seen anything about that but humans don’t sit like a cardboard box maybe it’s to do with the seat angle but I have been in both and the Enyaq is a lot more roomy. I don’t really care either way as 8 said I liked the 5 but it wasn’t practical with that high boot floor and low roof regardless of volume measurement. I won’t say anymore on the matter as it’s just a waste of time and daft as long as everyone’s happy in their choice that’s all that counts

Yes fair enough, but i was telling you the ioniq 5 is 580 litre boot when you slide rear seats to their most forward position.

Regards to the banana box, can you not see the video at the bottom of my post a few messages back up ?

Its not one box, the guy teste all EVs to see which can take the most 50 litre boxes in the boot and in the rear with seats down and ioniq fits more than the enyaq in its boot and identical amounts with seats down

I always find wheelbase and how manufacturers divide the interior up dictates passenger space. The 5 has one of the longest wheelbase’s in its class at 3m, the Enyal 2.765m but, as long as everyone is happy with their choice of car and it fits their needs, non of that matters really.

I’m really struggling with the brakes on my car. To call them spongy is an understatement.

Is anyone’s car due to be built this week, and has actually been built? Mine went onto confirmed W39 2 weeks ago but now all of a sudden it has moved week

I was given an email from the salesman saying I had a provisional build week 39 then that was followed up with a phone call saying it was confirmed so to expect a delivery mid November- but I have nothing to prove this – nothing from Skoda.Have to say after the test drive itself and placing the order I am decidedly unimpressed with the sales experience

I’ve done 1200 miles in the car, over 1000 on Motorway & high speed A roads and I’m not impressed with the steering, it feels vague and all over the place, constantly having to correct it. Anyone else noticed this?

Have you tried switching off Lane Assist?, mine is awful with it on.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

I’m beginning to think my car is possessed !!

The easy access system works when it feels like it on entry ( have to press the seat memory button), sometimes the flap won’t open, random error messages on screen from sensors not working to speed sign recognition to name but a few and my brake pedal chirps like a budgie when I press it !!!

BUT this morning I was really pissed off when the car wouldn’t open ! Tried both keys and the handle or button pushes wouldn’t work. Had to get a neighbour to take daughter to school. Was just about to call Skoda assist when I tried one last time and the doors unlocked !!
Ive called the dealer to book in to get checked yet again but it will probably be the same story- unless it’s doing it all the time we can’t fix it!
Has anyone got any ideas as I really need a reliable car.

Sounds like a nightmare have you asked if they can do a full software update and reset all the modules? Sounds like something stupidike that. Just a thought but dies it do it away from home? I was just wondering if there’s RFI in your area that’s jamming the car.

If it happens away from home then obviously not.

I would escalate to Motability and get put in a hire car until it is resolved.

@Rich44 I did ask if it was on the latest software and they said yes even though it’s on 4.0 and some Enyaqs are on 4.1. Told me 4.1 doesn’t exist!  Faults are happening all over the place. You never know when some error is gonna appear. Dealer here in Northern Ireland is hopeless. They can’t even phone you back when service is busy even though they take all your details. I have to keep phoning.
Think I’ll have to contact motability and see if they can help in some way as I’m really loosing faith in this car. My daughter this morning was so upset and distressed as she didn’t want to be late for school. We think she has some form of autism and doesn’t like change.

Had ours 3 weeks yesterday, we’ve done 1400 miles without a single issue. A few things I could do with changing like the annoying beeping noise when the tailgate opens and being able to set in eco mode and leave it there rather than setting it in every journey. Other than that I love the car. We have the brown Ecosuite leather interior, everyone says wow when they see it.

Tailgate beeping is a safety issue they all do that even cars I’ve had from 2005 beep it might even be a legal requirement. All EVs are the same defaulting to the normal mode in startup I don’t know why they don’t allow you to set a custom default maybe they don’t want us setting sport as the default lol.

I’m not entirely convinced eco mode really affects much I’ve played around with it maybe it makes it easier to hit the higher efficiencies but other than reduced power to the aircon it’s nothing you can’t do yourself.

I’m on 3000 miles now and my  long term is 3.8miles per kwh which I’m pretty happy with.

                                  @Dee49
sorry you’re having those issues 4.1 definitely exists it sounds to me like modules have been updated and not reset as part of the update as I understand it they update and then are supposed to reset each module so everything is on the correct version. If it’s not done properly I’ve heard of others saying they had weird stuff like charging flap randomly not unlocking and more. I’ve seen some people pulling fuses on various modules to force them off and on and that’s been reported to help matters.

It seems it’s like doing a Windows update when it needs a reboot afterwards not doing it and then the computer acts all weird.

Is there another dealer you can go to that might be better? Maybe lay cards on the table and tl them if it’s mot sorted you’re going to reject the car and they’ll get it back.

Min start is going to be plug it in and upgrade reset reboot whatever their terminology is every module.

Totally understand your situation my youngest we’ve been suspicious since he was a toddler but because he was coping at school no one cared, well until he reached Y11 then he was diagnosed with diabetes and coeliac and he fell apart. He’s def ASD at some level. First day of college he refused to get out of bed, the leave the house, then get in the car, then wouldn’t get out the car. Had to get tutors to come talk to him and even then only way he’d stay all day was if we stayed in the car park all day.

He’s OK now and getting the bus but he’s still regularly a mess. If you haven’t already get the school to assess her and get on the waiting list for an assessment here it’s a 2 year wait minimum. Earlier you can get intervention the better chances of support are esp stuff like exams on a laptop, exams in small group, extra time and a lot more. If they say coping at school tell them to chuff off and do it anyway because they cope until they don’t and when that happens it’s really hard to fix.

Apologies if teaching you to suck eggs and going off topic.

Not an alternative to getting issues resolved but if you have problems with doors and need to access the vehicle remember that you do have the old fashioned option of a physical key, emergency key. See how in this Key and remote of the Skoda ENYAQ, way more than you think. See all features here! [EN] (youtube.com)

I ended up ordering with John Mulholland in Randlestown and they offer a much better service.

They saw a review I did on them and they sprung into action and apologised ! They looked at the car this morning  and it has been diagnosed with a faulty gateway control module. Said it needs to be ordered and programmed for car at factory as it’s chassis specific. Anyway they have requested a courtesy car from motability rac who have already passed it on to Europcar and it’s gonna be delivered my home in the next few days hopefully. There is light at the end of the tunnel. !!

Did a long run this weekend from Norfolk to Dudley arrived with a little under 50% charge, pootled about drove home stopped at a nice site near Kettering big old BP site loads of 300kw chargers. By the time I’d eaten a McDonald’s charge was up to 80% charged at 175kw 11 miles a minute charge, nice.

Lots of mixed driving A, B and C roads plus dual carriageway and motorway managed a nice 3.7miles per kwh on the way there without trying. About 170 miles. Good satnav, acc and the travel assist makes it just effortless
