I’m sure all of you who have one on order, have been eagerly waiting (as of I) for Q1 24 to see what will be updated… and now the msport is available! (With 3 different packs too).
now the question on my head. If we want to switch to the msport model with the dealer, will they have to raise a whole new order with the factory, or will they be able to trim msport with the original factory slot?

@Mm7 it’s nice to know our dealers made the extra effort for us by manually calling bmw and speaking to them directly about amending our original slot.
I believe others who have been given new slots, there dealers probably did the easy way and went with whatever the computer tells them.
@Yk i agree, shame that some dealers dont go through the extra effort.
i feel reassured that someone else has had their order swapped the same way, means it cant go wrong now.
Unfortuantly, I fall with the dealers that say that a sport build slot cannot be amended to an MSport build, but my dealer told me a while ago he will try sort something out. Plan was to get me a new build slot from general sales (apparently, they have different build slots for general sales) which may be able to come in sooner. To be honest, anything up until early May I’m okay with, anything later I’ll be severely disappointed. I wasn’t aware build slots get separated for Motab, general sales, etc., unsure if that’s for all people. anyway, still waiting on a order number I can track and new estimated delivery date (i really really don’t want to wait past end of April/start May)
@Ryan thats a shame. Could you not ask your dealer to make the phone call for you? It appears so that this is the only way.
Im surprised they would have separate Motability slots to general public, slots are slots they should be equal and fair as the car technically at retail value costs the same.
Also I called my dealer today who wasnt there but had a conversation with another person and they said some orders were being delayed and this was mainly orders with lumbar support. I havent ordered this. I went to have a look at the online configurator too and it does say temporary restrictions so im not sure how much of an influence this will have on peoples order with the lumbar support.

yes, you’re right. Just waiting on what slot he was able to get me in. If we’re talking about more than 4 months from now, will definitely ask if he can make a call and manually adjust my old build slot
We’ve also got the Red Sea stuff to worry about now since the uk got their big noses involved in other peoples territory again. I know of a few factories closing down for the time being due to parts shortages. Tesla and a few others I’m hearing, wonder if it’ll affect bmw the same

Really? Manufacturers will always (if they can) choose to sell a car to the general public before Motability. That’s because MB pay a reduced fee for the cars, whilst cars sold to the general public gets the dealership full retail price. Simple economics.

I think the only advantage dealers have is probably making more money on finance/px etc.Yes on mine ordered 060823 phoned dealer build date week 9 expected to arrive dealer march so looking towards end of march.
@Ayzee still waiting for my dealer to change on the motability site to M sport. Completely ignored my previous email to him but then emailed me this morning saying still on track for delivery for week 15.
@MM7 Pretty ridiculous how your dealer is dragging it on for so long, soon as I emailed mine to change to M Sport, not long after I received the new order form to sign and the same day it was changed on MB site as well, maybe give the person handling your order a ring instead to update the car on MB too.
@Ayzee There isn’t much going on atp those that have already altered to M Sport with the same build slot, we’re all just waiting on March now.Just got information for my M Sport order, has gone from status 111 (capacity checked) in Nov and now to 112 (scheduled for production) in Jan, production is week 7 so expecting delivery mid March.

I received the updated MB letter through the door this morning confirming m sport change with a new PIN code

Must be country wide that as when i spoke to my dealer said no one on their order list has swapped.
Yes I think it must be nationwide, did you have to wait long for your order to be changed over? did you go with Marshalls?

I stuck with the Sport was happy with it spent the extra on packs rather than msport.
@mik how is there a waiting list for it it doesn’t make sense?
I went with Marshalls and he did it the same day.

@JohnK Thanks for the reply. Yes if your happy with it then its best to stick and saves the hassle. I want to change to the m-sport as I prefer the overall look with the m-sport pack and adaptive suspension. i recommended you visit the showroom and speak to your dealer. It shouldn’t take 3 weeks to place a new order through motability and bmw ordering system
Make sure you mention to him you are a member on the motability forum group and many people have manage to get this changed over
My dealer changed my sport to m sport in front of me when I visited him, he also updated my order on motability system and manage to get me the same build slot as my original sport order
