GeorgieGran Coupe has taken itself out of the running for me, unfortunately. From 2021 they’re going to be rear-wheel drive, which is no good for me.
Oh well.

Lord MucGeorgie, that may be the series 4 grand coupe, doubt they will go back to RWD, as the Two series (F44) is based on the mini platform, which is used in the 1, X2 series.

GeorgieLord Muc – Hold the ‘phone! The article I read (Auto Express, August 2020) was regarding the new 2 door 2 series Gran Coupe, not the 4 door 2 series Gran Coupe. My bad.
Hope springs eternal. 😉

Lord MucGeorgie, the naming conventions the brands use, make it so confusing. ?

GeorgieWouldn’t it be nice if the 2 dr model were made available to us.
November 10, 2020 at 4:23 pm #129098
JanGeorgie, it used to be. It got taken off in Q4.
November 10, 2020 at 4:34 pm #129099
GeorgieWhile it would be no good for me, there are obviously plenty of Gran Coupe fans here (for whom rear wheel drive isn’t a problem) who might like one.
Bad enough that car manufacturers are cutting their 2 dr options in favour of 4 dr, but to deny us 2 dr fans the few 2 dr cars still around is infuriating. My current Golf GT is 2 dr, but they’re only 4 dr now. Seems we’re only allowed smaller Mini’s and assorted, under-powered ‘pod’-cars in 2 dr nowadays.

BradMe and lord muc have had our gc for weeks now and we both love it. Plenty of power and there’s always sport mode. Hard to fault really. Maybe the only problem is getting in and out with it being low down but the doors open wide. Maybe get a few fingerprints on the infotainment system but as expected. Can’t fault it.
