So I decided to keep the e3008. Why? Well it was all little electric gremlins and apart from the boot opening which is serious, the rest was more of a nuisance. Also because I managed to scrape together £2.4k for another car and just decided that I wanted to keep it and get a wee weekend away for me and the missus and do the two kids bedrooms up. I made this decision while the car was in the workshop for 3 weeks. I do like the car, it looks great inside and out and that colour is stunning. It drives brilliantly just a bit harsh over poor roads. But it’s such I nice place to sit, especially at night. Decided to call into the dealers while passing for an update and they told me it’s ready. I wonder when they were going to tell me lol. The head mechanic was sound and honest. So Peugeot don’t know what to do and only could come up with updates. It had 3 updates and nowt else. He explained that they had witnessed nearly all the faults and he told me that the e3008 he had, the boot had opened itself and he was stunned. He apologised and said that he believes the first batch of cars where just rushed in production to get them out to the showrooms. I went on my way, not amused but not peed either, I made my mind up and hoped that the updates worked or at least fixed most. I only drove it the two mile home and didn’t take it out again until this mornings work and school runs then it was parked up until after 6 when the traffic was quieter and we went for a drive to the coast 77 mile round trip in near perfect weather. So what was the car like? F’ing a lot worse than when I sent it in. Within an hour of driving it, albeit the next day it was showing a new fault sign ‘electric traction system fault: repair needed’. That’s a new one and a mechanical problem I presume so maybe dangerous? The screens went blank again. The radio knocked itself off well over 30 times, just off/muted as a quick roll of the volume knob put it back on. And the strangest one. I reset the trip before the drive. It’s a lovely evening here so I didn’t need climate on, so just lights and radio on. All a-b roads so driving between 30-50 mph and what is the MiKWH showing 2.2 MiKWH. What the hell happened from it went in for it to end up so low and being drove easy in perfect conditions. I’m baffled tbh. A big pile of effing scrap that’s going.

I was considering this car but thankfully went for the Honda ZRV. Which has benn 100% perfect.

Really hope you get sorted one way or the other!

My car was £1999 AP, which was the same price as my previous car 5 years ago, I got £750 for the new car payment and ~£350 good condition bonus payment which made the car cost to me £900 I got half the good condition bonus earlier during Covid etc, but the total cost was even less. Very happy despite the horrific high prices we are all facing.

Good to hear someone getting a good deal👌

Was originally going for the 1.6 hybrid GTs . Beautiful car inside and out . Ended up ordering the Honda ZR-V .
Overall package just tipped the balance!

All I have done is sat in it . No opportunity for me to test drive .Believe me I have watched and read every review out there. Just going to have to take a chance .

Ok, if you haven’t had the opportunity to test one due to circumstances then I understand. If there any issues when you get the car, don’t be afraid to voice them to the dealership and/or MB. Hopefully it meets your needs and you enjoy the car.

Motability are investigating it . I had no other choice but to order car in Ayr.
They have just confirmed that the car is ordered!

@Shuffler3 – Apologies if I’ve missed it but have you actually taken the car for a test drive yet? Seen a few questions from you asking about how low it is, space in the boot, etc. Don’t put an order in until you’ve seen the car and driven it. I know it’s difficult because of where you are and lack of dealerships but if you get the car and it’s not a good fit, it’s a difficult situation to get out of. Hope I’ve just missed something in the thread and I’m bringing this up for no reason. Hope it all works out for you.

My scooter fits in. But it is collapse able if that helps. Did try at dealership more than happy to let wife try for me.

Mine fit in no problem, but I needed a hoist, and the ZR-V doesn’t have the certification yet for any adaptions. I was told it may be 3 months or longer by dealership and motability agreed.

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated ?

Good news, and it looks like you have one more dealer in Northern Ireland to try as well as the Ayr option.

If you’re talking about JC Campbell in Newry, I heard that they are ceasing to be a Honda dealership at the end of February and becoming a servicing and maintenance centre I believe. Confirm that with them directly to ensure it’s correct.[/quot

You’re right they are going to servicing only. In the process of getting it from Ayr in Scotland who are so helpful.

Some difference from the dealer here in N Ireland

Have gone for the Advance in white!

Picking mine up on Monday. When I ordered mine dealer said not many left.Could be a 3-4 month wait if not got now. Did offer the one in the showroom but it was black.

It was the fact I wasn’t allowed to order?

We only have one Honda dealer in N Ireland !

Ah, you’re in Norn Iron! It doesn’t seem right that you are treated any differently to a Motability customer in the rest of the UK, so I’d still be phoning Motability to see what’s going on.[/quote
Explained to Motability what happened. They were bewildered when I told them I wasn’t allowed to order. She checked everything at her end  and went on to phone the dealership. Dealership was closed so she rang Honda in Ayr and spoke with them. They were happy for me to get the boat over and have my car ordered from them.  She later phoned me back to say there is another dealership here  and I should call them in the morning.

They were really helpful and curious as to why this happened. Going to look into it tomorrow.

So I’ll give this other dealership a call in the morning to see how I get on!

That doesn’t sound right. If it’s on the Motability list it’s available to order regardless of quota. If on the other hand this were to be a Honda dictat and not just that particular dealer, then Motability need to remove it from the list to avoid further confusion. Phone Motability and explain it all . Also phone another Honda dealer tomorrow at random to see if you get the same answer.
