Folks, as a fair few of us have now got the cars and many others are awaiting delivery in the coming weeks and months, it might be useful to have a dedicated thread to discuss all things about the car. Please feel free to discuss/share/contribute/pass on experiences/post pics, etc. As a new owner myself and first time electric driver I have found this forum and indeed the facebook groups invaluable for answering my many questions… please ask away, no question is too stupid!

@des so are the kids getting a new bedroom and mrs a romantic weekend away, which all sounds nice or is the car effing scrap that’s going?
So I decided to keep the e3008. Why? Well it was all little electric gremlins and apart from the boot opening which is serious, the rest was more of a nuisance. Also because I managed to scrape together £2.4k for another car and just decided that I wanted to keep it and get a wee weekend away for me and the missus and do the two kids bedrooms up. I made this decision while the car was in the workshop for 3 weeks. I do like the car, it looks great inside and out and that colour is stunning. It drives brilliantly just a bit harsh over poor roads. But it’s such I nice place to sit, especially at night. Decided to call into the dealers while passing for an update and they told me it’s ready. I wonder when they were going to tell me lol. The head mechanic was sound and honest. So Peugeot don’t know what to do and only could come up with updates. It had 3 updates and nowt else. He explained that they had witnessed nearly all the faults and he told me that the e3008 he had, the boot had opened itself and he was stunned. He apologised and said that he believes the first batch of cars where just rushed in production to get them out to the showrooms. I went on my way, not amused but not peed either, I made my mind up and hoped that the updates worked or at least fixed most. I only drove it the two mile home and didn’t take it out again until this mornings work and school runs then it was parked up until after 6 when the traffic was quieter and we went for a drive to the coast 77 mile round trip in near perfect weather. So what was the car like? F’ing a lot worse than when I sent it in. Within an hour of driving it, albeit the next day it was showing a new fault sign ‘electric traction system fault: repair needed’. That’s a new one and a mechanical problem I presume so maybe dangerous? The screens went blank again. The radio knocked itself off well over 30 times, just off/muted as a quick roll of the volume knob put it back on. And the strangest one. I reset the trip before the drive. It’s a lovely evening here so I didn’t need climate on, so just lights and radio on. All a-b roads so driving between 30-50 mph and what is the MiKWH showing 2.2 MiKWH. What the hell happened from it went in for it to end up so low and being drove easy in perfect conditions. I’m baffled tbh. A big pile of effing scrap that’s going.
I was considering this car but thankfully went for the Honda ZRV. Which has benn 100% perfect.
Really hope you get sorted one way or the other!
Holy Molly, bit of a rollercoaster the 3008 is putting ya through. Whatever happens its only a car, easily replaced.
Carwow done a review on the 5008 a few days ago. They are bonny cars. Not sure if they are on the scheme at present.
Also they sone one of their range tests with various 80kw or so cars. Most only managed 80% of claimed range 300-350 miles, which is a out double the range of cars 3 years ago. They will always get better range and better efficiency as time goes on.
Took the E3008 into the dealers yesterday to get the heating checked as well as the random warning lights that pop up (traction, red spanners etc). Despite my experience of the heating only blowing warm/hot for about 3/10 attempts, sods law dictated that it was working on the drive to the dealers yesterday! They couldn’t find the issue with it of course and despite putting the diagnostic thingy on the car, it apparently didn’t show any record of the warning lights. When I booked the car in earlier this week, the service engineer did get in the car and the traction warning light lit up when he was at the wheel, so he did see it for himself. The dealership themselves were very good and thorough and I am happy with their service, but will just have to monitor the situation. Any warning lights do usually go off after a few minutes of driving, but it is still disconcerting driving while the red spanner or “take to repair centre” (or whatever the message is) is displayed…. just in case it’s for real!
I did have a couple of other electrical gremlins recur during the first month or so of having the car (including losing my preset radio stations at least twice a week) but they seem to have ironed themselves out now. I have only physically done one OTA system update as prompted on the screen, so I don’t know if others have been done in the background.
Anyhow, my main worry is still that the heating will again let me down in the depths of winter. The service technician told me to take it back to him if that happens, and hopefully he can be better placed to diagnose the issue when it’s not working.
Bit peed off this morning with the car not preheating and it being covered in ice, so dug around for any info. In my case the app rarely works as it just keeps stating ‘command in progress’ but never does send the command. The other few times it says ‘command failed’ and it’s turns out that you can not precondition the car if battery is below 50%. How effing useless is that.
So I was hoping to run down a full charge to see what range it gives and now can’t as I have to plug a car in with 43% battery left to defrost it in the morning.
Declan I forgot to reply. My heating is working fine. Mind tbh as this is my second EV I’ve found the heating to be a bit meh on both. Either to warm or to cold. I find the best for me when I need it is to put it up to 23 and fan 3 and blowing into foot well. That seems to keep the car the ok. And in an EV when its cold your feet or cold, no big roasty ICE next to them lol
Declan I was reading something on the FB group this morning about the car blowing out cold air, something I noticed myself. They recommend to turn the AC off and to push the recycle? Air button to stop this and keep the car warmer. I have noticed that the AC does tend to stay on and I have to turn it off.
The car didn’t charge last night even though I checked and it said it was charging, so I couldn’t preheat this morning as I was under 50%. TBF within three minutes the car started to blow out warm air and it didn’t take long to heat up.
Cheers Des. My app has never worked. TBH, I only wanted it for the pre-heating function anyway. But I keep the car in the garage on cold nights anyway, so shouldn’t be too much of an issue, except those nights that it’s out to charge. I wish I could have put the charger on the garage wall so that I could have put the lead in through the window to charge the car inside, but my electricals didn’t allow for that.
The car not preheating below 50% is a bummer alright, but probably reflects on how much energy the preheating process uses. You’d probably be left with 10%, lol! Best to preheat when plugged in anyway, but messed up your test though.
Cheers about the heating info mate. Yeah, on the odd time that it has worked for me, I have it on the same settings of 23 and fan 3, although I do blow it straight at me. Must try the footwell direction the next time it decides to blow out warm air!
The car does blow out cold air but I read in the blurb that this is due to the forward momentum of the car whilst driving. I always turn the AC off every time. On my last trip home from the service centre I set the heating to auto and 23, but in all honesty, it was barely warm. I shall try the recirculation method. I am wondering if that just mists the car up though…. We’ll see.
One thing for sure though is that I’m not going through the winter with a temperamental and barely effective heating system…. I’ll follow your route if that’s the case!
I’ve not done many miles at all this week, but I have a 10 mile run to Magherafelt this afternoon, so I’ll give the heating another try.
I have noticed with mine when selecting eco mode – I get a pop up about heating and I notice it only blows cool air
only when driving in normal mode I get heating

i picked the car up end of October and i have been following your thread and was getting seriously worried and even considered cancelling but thought i would take a chance and I haven’t looked back.
Great to hear. It’s a cracking car, just that mine isn’t. And I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been into cars especially how they look, but that Peugeot and TBF all Peugeots are stunning. I’ve been on the FB page mostly just reading and there are plenty of folk who like you are loving the car and have no problems whatsoever.
Have you sussed out it’s quirks yet lol. After the last update ‘ok Peugeot’ has started working a sometimes and when I ask it to turn on drivers heated seat it turns the passenger one on and vice versa. Then the climate buttons under the I toggle. When you turn things on a light comes on to let you know it’s on except for when you turn climate off, that’s when it lights up. A bit back to front tbh. There’s no main switch to turn the interior lights on, they all have to be touched individually, how are you ment to turn the rear interior lights on lol. There’s a few wee other things I can’t remember but it’s french and it’s quirky.
One thing I love mind. I’ve now been in a 3008 and e3008 for about four and a half years and I absolutely love that small steering wheel, every car should have them.

Haha. Yeah Des, it assumes that we are driving a left hand drive car and there doesn’t seem to have been any modifications for right hand models. I ask “OK Peugeot” to turn on the right side heated seat and it does it. Same with heating settings.
OK, just back from the dealership who carried out the ball joint/bracket recall.
I’ve had issues with the poor consumption since getting the car (E3008) and I noted on here that I was sometimes only on target to get around 150ish miles to a full charge (with around 0c temps). On one occasion I travelled just 6 miles and lost 8% of my battery. Anyhow, I did mention this to them a while ago and they did a battery test today. They reckon that its approx 30% down on where it should be performing and mentioned a possible battery replacement! They have done a ticket to Peugeot about it and now await their decision on how to proceed! I’ll update when there is anything further…
