I’ve never had a lease where the AP isn’t paid until collection and if in the meantime the AP drops between ordering and collection have always paid the lower amount. ?? Since when has this changed. Have an ID4 on order and dealer hasn’t taken any deposit.

Anyone managed to order a style pro? As im getting all different answers when phoning vw dealers around me. I’m guessing I’ll just have to place an order and see.

yes you can order both stock and factory build . The dealer needs to go their vw hub and there’s a specific note that motability can still order the old style trim , pro style etc

Thank you, ill order one sometime this week. I did ring my local vw dealer again and think they have been updated with new info you just said. Have you ordered one? Im thinking of the going the lighter blue.

We ordered the red with black roof style pro about three weeks ago. Still waiting for a build date ?

Do you know if the Match spec is going to replace the life and style pro on the Motability ordering platform ?

I Recently noticed a post from Caffyns Audi Brighton about stock availability and dealer support offers. A big shout out to Nathan GM for doing this. I think this is a superb way of promoting Motability and generating business for the dealership. I have had a few dealers that seem very uninterested when you say that you are a Motability customer. Prime example, my own Local Audi dealership in Tamworth. If the Q4 had wowed me (which it didn’t) I would have done the 350 mile round trip to deal with Caffyns Brighton rather than give my business to Tamworth. I think if more dealers could promote on here , particularly stock availability that would be a huge tick for customer service. Well done Nathan, Caffyns Audi, Brighton.

Not sure if you have ever had any dealings with Nissan/Suzuki Polesworth but I found them the worst company I have ever dealt with ever! The salesman was very eager when we first walked into the showroom but the moment we mentioned Motability he lost interest completely. At one point my wife started asking a question about the Swift Sport but he actually snapped at her that it wasn’t on Motability so she didn’t need to know! She was actually asking as a private customer, as I am the Motability customer. Needless to say we didn’t order from them and will never go back. On a different note, TMS Volvo at Hinckley were superb! We were made to feel a valued customer at every point of the process.

I do yes. That must be a very recent experience too because they’ve only been a Suzuki dealer for about four weeks. Been Nissan for years, but I think Nissan are pushing EV heavily and they don’t think they have the clientele for solely the EV market son have recently taken on Suzuki too.

Quite shocked to hear that to be fair because I know Martin who owns the dealership and Steve the Sales Manager and me personally have always had good service from Polesworth. Perhaps worth a mention to Steve. They wouldn’t be happy at all to hear you received bad service because they have traded well on loyal local business for many years and probably 99% of Nissans locally have come from Polesworth.

I looked at all 3. I immediately ruled out the Q4 as it felt less spacious inside plus with the Coupe only coming in Sport trim it had no facility to change things like the wheels. I then looked at the ID4/5. The ID5 in the showroom looked quite nice until the salesman told me it had around £6k of extras on it. When he took me outside to look at one without the extras I thought straight away no chance. Then onto the Skoda. Ticked all the boxes as far as specification is concerned and like most people have said you get more bang for your buck especially with the rules going back to a 3 year lease. I did have a final visit to BMW yesterday as my car was in for a service, but with my back condition getting worse the cars I would like are too uncomfortable to get in and out of. Plus the AP’s on BMW’s are getting ridiculous for a 3 year lease especially when you add the things you need. I went back to Skoda to check that I’d made the right decision and the Sportline Plus Coupe that was in the showroom confirmed that I had.

I am looking forward to the first 2024 models to start hitting the showroom. I shall revisit both Skoda and VW again when they have a physical model just to be sure ?

Hope you enjoy the Enyaq it is a stunning car. Especially the coupe. We couldn’t go sports back because we need the boot height for the Great Dane

I wanted the Q4 Quattro by far my favourite in looks and ease of use of equipment but an AP of £4299 with no option to add electric adjustment to the seats just felt too much. Enyaq suite edition had everything but I didn’t find the dash easy to use or intuitive. In fact I was overwhelmed by it. The id4 pro style sits happily in the middle for me. A good car, intuitive dash and if I’m putting up with manual adjustment then £1499 or if I add on electric adjustment £ 3000 ish still less than ( my beloved) q4. If money was no object it’d be q4 all the way but I’m very happy to be ordering the id4 tomorrow. Anything goes wrong then I’ll order the Enyaq and work out the dash in my own time.

Well, that’s fair play? and totally agree. We all have different requirements and likes/dislikes.

We went the other way and cancelled the Enyaq in favour of the ID4 but it was a very close run thing.

For me the Q4 wasn’t a contender. I think I would put the Toyota BZ4X above the Q4.

why is it that some dealers lose interest when you mention motability? Most i’ve spoken to a great

I don’t know if it’s actually a Motability thing or luck of the drawer with being unlucky in getting the divet who just isn’t interested in life.period ?

The person I had the misfortune of serving me at my local Tamworth Audi dealership was about as useful as the G in gnome.

I am the sort of person who buys from people and that makes a huge difference to me. Obviously the deal has to be right, but I would happily travel to receive first class customer service rather than give my business to a brain-dead oik.

This is a cracking way of getting stock vehicle availability out there.

I would be more than happy to travel for a stock vehicle rather than an unknown wait for a factory order.

So, I have had the response below from my VW dealer.

“what I can 100% confirm is the car we ordered will be the car you will get.”

So I have it in writing that I will be getting what I ordered, namely, New 2024 ‘Style’ ID4 with the Pano roof as standard.

Wasn’t the match the cheap and nasty trim on VW’s other models.

Match is the entry level 2024 id4

Not quite, the ID4 is getting replaced by the Match Pro and Match Pro 4M. It seems that the ‘Match’ spec is model specific and trim levels vary on different models. But the updated VW websites are clearly saying that on the ID4 the Match replaces the life and style ….. Definitely watching this space.

They like to keep us guessing! I’d be inclined to change to the new 286ps Match, as it would get me a power tailgate, that I’m not sure the Style does have. Will have to wait and see if these appear on the motability website anytime soon.

Yes indeed. I’ll let you know if I find anything out. I’ll be on it tomorrow. ?

Well, that’s interesting Thankyou. From the horses mouth as it were. Clearly says replaces ‘life’ and ‘style’ trim. So I wonder where that leaves us. Does that mean that existing orders will come through as ordered or be changed accordingly ? I might wait to see what happens to the Motability website. TBH I would be tempted to go 4wd if that spec gets me the panoramic roof, but obviously will depend on the AP. As it stands if it is only match Pro then we lose the PR and get auto boot. ?

I noticed they have changed the trims too after looking at the standard equipment all i can see is that they have removed the pan roof in favour of a powered tailgate the rest stays the same im not sure what i would rather if im honest im just wondering whether i along with others thats ordered in jan will receive the match pro instead of the style when there ready to collect be interesting to see i remember before back in 2015 when i ordered a ford focus ST diesel at the time of ordering it came with silver alloys but when i picked it it had gunmetal grey alloys when i asked why the dealer said the model was refreshed whilst it was on order im just wondering whether it will be the case with the id4

So just popped down the dealership, as it’s very local. She told me that the Match has been slotted in alongside the existing life and style editions as a special edition. I explained that the life and style don’t seem to appear as an option on VW website which she seemed surprised at. She said that if we’ve ordered a Style it will be a style that you get. Although she also said that if the model lineup changes during ordering to delivery then you will always get the model you ordered. TBH from others experience I know that to not be the case, so I am a little skeptical about her knowledge. I suppose it will be interesting to see if the model lineup changes on the Motability ordering platform. That will probably be the best tell-tale sign.

Just saw online that VW have just updated the trims on offer for the ID.4, and the Life/Style are no longer available. Seems the trim is now ‘Match’ across the fleet, with 2 options on the ID.4. We now have the 52kw 170ps, and another with the 77kw 286ps. Motability & Motaclarity don’t seem to have updated yet, so will be interesting to see what transpires.

Does anyone have any experience if style trims change between ordering and delivery. Is there a protocol with Motability?

Thanks for that info. Does it perhaps mean that the “match” is a limited edition sitting alongside the life and the style ?

If not I wonder what will happen to existing orders. Just noticed that the match Pro (which would seem to be style equivalent) doesn’t have a panoramic sunroof. That would be disappointing as that is one thing I really liked on the ID4.

I reckon I might be calling the dealer today. Although, as you say, doesn’t seem that anything on Motability has changed.

I wonder if the four wheel drive March version will become available on Motability to match the Enyaq twin motor version ????

Case of watch this space I reckon, but with no Pano Sunroof could it be a dealer breaker for me ????????? Not sure at this point.

When I do have someone in the back, they’ll have to deal with those, not me. Pretty sure the controls are backlit in the updated model, and I use hand controls, so steer with a ball. Plenty of room in the boot for my wheelchair, and will save the AP in the first year.
