I have spent so much time trying to sort this out that I have given up.
On long journeys, I used to sign into the Volvo XC40 hotspot with my laptop and it was easy.
I was reluctant to tether to my mobile because I don’t use it often, so I only pay for low data use. I have increased my monthly payments to account for the data I will use.
Most things I see online say setup, data network, wifi hotspot. The only problem is when I press set up there is no option for data network. I can’t find anything about network or wifi anywhere.
I noticed my phone’s wifi comes up with a network called Hyundai-EPGA now. I can’t see if I can connect to that because it wants a password. I have read online that it could be the last 8 characters of the vin but that doesn’t work.
I put various pics up but only the last one is there.
Battery pics
Thanks for the responses.
I would imagine they are lithium batteries with it being so lightweight.
The battery pack was fine before it was not used. I had only used it twice before lockdown came in.
I would have thought that it’s completely flat now. It probably had about 25% charge when I left it and when I tried to charge it the charger lit up but the battery did nothing. I did leave it on overnight but still nothing and that was about 9 months ago.
I have read that you can shock them so I thought of maybe connecting it to a car battery or my car battery charger but there is no usual positive and negative.
I am away visiting friends until next Sunday so I will post pics of the battery pack open when I get back.
Interesting about parcel forwarding. I have often wished I had a friend in the states. Do you get hit with vat? I know you can put it down as a gift but do not know if this works?
Some more shares.
The Kwik Fit mobile service sounds convenient, but am I correct in thinking that if I thought my tyres were low I would need to take it to them to confirm before Mobility would authorise a change?
I wish Mobility would give us a choice between ATS and Kwik Fit. My nearest Kwik Fit garage is a 50-mile round trip and is in a horrible spot whilst my nearest ATS is 2 miles away.
Thanks, that’s another plus for Mobility then.
He spoke with forked tongue then?
Yup.
He assumed it was an error. Which to be fair you might, because only a numpty would put a car on a list that is not manufactured anymore and there is no stock of.
Just spoke to the dealer again to try and confirm whether it’s a R-line or R-line Tech. He said he knows it says R-line on the price list but it is the R-line Tech because they are not making the R-line anymore, only the tech version.
Hopefully it’s correct and the ones they have coming in are the Tech versions, otherwise I am going there to order one and I will have wasted my time. I will stipulate again that I only want a tech version though.
Just spoke to VW dealer and he is pretty sure it would be the tech version.
Made an appointment to go in this afternoon to order it as long as it’s the tech model.
He said they have a white, grey, and black one being built and I could have one of those within a couple of months, if not it would be around 5 months for a factory order.
I am interested in this model too, because I do mostly town driving so I need a petrol.
Looking at the VW site there is only an R line tech so I am assuming it has to be the one.
They do mobile call outs, so will come to your house and change the tyre / fix the puncture, give them a call 0333 696 4356
Thanks, that’s good to know. It will save me a trip into the city.
It’s a shame the contract is just with Kwikfit. My nearest Kwikfit is miles away and is a pig to get into, yet I have an ATS about a mile away.
Good luck, and have a quick recovery.
I was looking at a white one in the showroom at the weekend. It looked like a normal white car to me, and I would have one in white if the car was suitable. It looked as white as any other white car.
the base atelier is my preference it still has the heated seats etc, i prefer leather the suite but not sure i would pay the difference. the i3s i wouldnt consider as all it is is a bit quicker with sportier suspension etc and bigger wheels.
I am with you, the base atelier seems to be the best value for money. If I was considering getting one. I would not really be bothered with a different looking interior, wide wheels etc. I would want better driver aides, and more comfort, to spend more money.
It’s great to see another electric car come on Motability. Keep up the good work, but can we have one that’s suv size please?
It would be a benefit if Motability let us know what vehicles they are trying to get on the scheme. I know I wouldn’t be best pleased if I compromised on a car, and then another car appeared that was more suitable for my needs.
Unfortunately, It’s too small for my needs, and those seats look like they could have been used in the Spanish inquisition as a means of getting a quick confession. hopefully, they are more comfortable than they look.
That must be classed as a modification though. I cringed when he dropped a metal box in near all those cables.
Yes, I would think it would be classed as a modification. It’s just a shame BMW didn’t utilise it. Apparently it’s the empty space where the engine/generator goes for other markets.
I am amazed BMW didn’t utilise the available space in the boot.
This is a good video for anyone that doesn’t know about the Diesel DPF issue.
and whats wrong with the tiguan diesel
I just got one cracking car to be honest and thats after a lifetime of bmws. 4x4s, 1s, 2s, 3s, 5s and even a 7 (not all on motability) and I think the tiguan is cracking, same specced X1 would of cost me 8000 ap.
There is nothing wrong with the Tiguan diesel, it’s a good car, but a diesel car is no good if your doing short journeys around town. You would end up having problems with the DPF (diesel particulate filter).
