They did dig a small hole but they made good. No charge. Apparently there is a small chance of the cable branch being overloaded if both my neighbour and us had everything on and the charger !

Hi
I had something similar. Our estate was built in 1999. Each 2 properties had one main cable from the road and was split to each house. National Grid did the work and made good. No charge 👍

Hi
I’m wondering if there is a discrimination case. Rural drivers are not being given a fair choice here There doesn’t seem to be a clear argument about what these changes will mean to MB and the rational for penalising a group who need the miles to allow them to live as normal life as possible (the point of the scheme?). The outrageous mileage add on is the stick to get rid of rural higher mileage users and could be argued as discriminatory.
Need a lawyer?

As usual the greedy get found out and move on with a good pension while the vulnerable get lambasted by the media for having a ‘luxury’ car. No recourse or payback.

Totally agree. Our young man attends special college each day and we transport him for his own safety and mental health. This results in a high mileage, just inside the current limit. Surely the returns from a low milage 3 year car is much higher than the proposed higher mileage car which is what the lease is based on?
Sad to say when we come to renew it will not be with MB.

Wow that is a change. Our current mileage is 18000 per year so that will be 24000 over 3 years will mean a charge of £6000 at the end!!! Plus extra tyres etc. I think my Maths is right. So it will be back to buying or leasing elsewhere as Motobility will not be fit for our purpose.

March 14, 2026 at 4:09 pm in reply to: More Kamiq Problems and an Enyaq 85x Sportline Hire Car #344907Hi,
Love our Enyaq 85x. The mileage per KW so depends on the temperature. 3.1 when cold and 4.2 in warm weather so depending on your driving style the amount of miles at 80% goes from 248 to just over 300. We are high mileage users so normally charge at home every night as 4 trips to college and back (2 days) drops from 80% to 16% when its the cold weather. Car is really good and enjoyable to drive.

Hi Jojoe
Brilliant thank you. Simples.

Hi
We have one. It works ok on some chargers and not others. I haven’t bothered to work out the difference with some chargers as I try and avoid charging away from home for obvious reasons.

Tyres do of course make a difference and 10 days in Iceland 3 years ago during there worst winter for 30 years did prove the value of studded tyres on a Dacia 4WD. Our Enyaq is heavy and if you drive at sensible speeds and according to the conditions most vehicles including our Enyaq are fine. I do find it interesting that some people don’t seem to understand physics and often drive too close and too fast particularly in poor weather as happened today being tailgated in the snow. I calmly pulled over and let them pass to avoid being rear ended. If they want to save 1 minute on their journey with a heightened risk of an accident that is up to them.
Safe driving everyone – take your time.

December 19, 2025 at 11:57 am in reply to: Do Penny Pinching Dealers / Manufacturers Put You Off? #324643Thats how it is. Its a way of upselling and keeping the margins for dealers I suspect. When we were looking for our Enyaq we would have had an AP boosted by several hundred pounds for a pack which included only one thing we wanted. Couple this with there only being about 30 in the country of various spec you find your choice limited unless you are willing to wait for a factory order of 6 months.
I completely agree the tyre inflator should be included, however am not surprised as when you fly these days you can pay for a flight but have to pay extra for a seat!!!
Happy Christmas everyone.

Agree, we have a car for our son and take him too and from college every day racking up 300+ miles a week. We are very strict about the use being for him and we have another car for all our other jobs. However, I do travel home without him in the car and may deviate by one mile to pick up some shopping. This isn’t an abuse as far as I can see but maybe some will disagree.
It is a shame , much like the abuses of the Blue Badge scheme that some will take the micky and tarnish genuine recipients of help.

Also I’m guessing if they load the AP there will need to be a rebate system if you don’t use the milage allowance. They should add interest of course as they will have your money up front. We shall see in 2028.
PeterB
That would add 1800£ to the AP in that case on a 60,000 mile 3 year lease I guess?

Hi All,
Unfortunately we are living in a world of envy and lack of compassion for our fellow humans. The constant snipping at disabilities and others in the margins of society by the press is so disheartening. The rise of right wing rhetoric is very loud right now. The politics of today even from a Labour government reflects this narrative.
We should all remember everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about so with that in mind we should try to be compassionate to all.

Hi Bandit,
Thanks yes I do. I will try that tomorrow. I must say that a 40k car that relies on a12v battery which doesn’t charge when the car is charging is not quite what I was expecting . Charging the battery on my 1999 Granvia I accept needs doing occasionally.
Tech ???
PeterB
Hi All,
I think this is certainly symptomatic of an overrelience on tech. I now feel that the car for the second night running has only taken less than 30% charge. I am unable to push charge as the 12v battery is in protected mode!!! You would have thought it would be topped up when the car is charged? It tells me to drive my car to charge the 12v battery?????. Will be talking to Skoda tomorrow I think.
Thank you everyone.
PeterB
Thank you for responding
I have the OVO Charge anytime app and the Skoda App. The OVO Charge anytime has been changed last week and the charging price doubled to 14p. However, we had already signed up to the VW/Skoda deal (10000 miles per year- credit to account £212) for 3 years and obviously that only works with 7p per KW so they are correcting it during the billing phase from 14p to 7p. They have acknowledged the error.
I use the Skoda app to set the charging limit – normally 80% and being ready at 7.55am. The charge anytime app then programmes the charge. This has mostly been ok. However, the car sometime seem to not recognise it is plugged in and we have had the red dot – no connection and advice around 12v battery state and then told to drive the car!!!
Thank you again

I have Ohme Ipod charger fitted and OVO as energy supplier through the VW 10,000 free mile and guaranteed 7p cheap rate. However, found it difficult to get the Ohmn app to work as it doesn’t recognise OVO? I currently use it as a dumb charging point controlling it through the OVO app and the Skoda app. The difficulkty is that sometimes the charger doesn’t seem to want to communicate with the car when plugged in?
Any ideas?
