Good for you, I’m sure you will be very pleased with it. Have they given you any idea of timescales? We are in very uncertain times and so it’s nice to see a bold decision. My luck would have been the same as yours and I tend to dither and then regret it.
Interesting regarding the ‘B’ mode. I’ve really only used it when going down enormous hills and on my old car, I would pop it into B when I was in and around a town. I’ll pop it into B when I’m next out and keep an eye out to see what happens. Mine is very good at reducing the speed when approaching corners or junctions but on long stretches of roadworks it slows down but is not always so quick to accelerate when they are over. Having said that, my friend has the Enyaq and his is a little erratic with the speed adjustment.
Even I can remember the excitement levels rising. It was a very short window for me of only around 4 weeks from ordering to taking delivery. It was already built and at the port of exit when I placed the order. It was quick as there were no packs or extras to add. Like Tillyman, I’m sure you will love the car when it arrives.
I’ve just managed to brave the elements and thankfully it’s there, under the boot flap in the recess.
Thanks Tillyman, I can’t believe I diddnt look. I had the charge cable and a small cardboard box in the glove box which I’m assuming might be the locking wheel nuts. I’ll go and have a look as soon as I can. I’m surrounded by mature trees and I can see them thrashing around in the wind at the moment so I’m just hoping for no damage.
Hi Tillyman,
Do you know, I’m afraid I’ve not even checked but I should. The weather is wild right now but as soon as the storm abates I will go and have a look. I thought the salesman said it had one but I hadn’t checked. I did find the ice scraper built into the boot and the umbrella tucked into the door. Having an emergency repair kit could prove handy, especially where I live.
I must admit that any range anxiety has now gone compared to my previous Renault Zoe which is a great relief as I’m often having to drive to Aberdeen which is 150 mile round trip from home and it does it all with ease.
Are you using the 4 digit pin to start the car? I set it up with the salesman as he went through everything, it just means no speedy getaways lol.
I do have to turn off the lane assist feature most times as I’m in such a rural location that you can’t often stick to your own side as the roads are too narrow and it’s quite unnerving if it starts wobbling in the path of an oncoming distillery tanker.
It makes driving so much easier and comfortable and you’ve got the added benefits of lots of extras too compared to my Edition 85. Most people who stop you in car parks and want to know your experience with the Elroq usually always compliment the cars colour too.
Snap! Great choice of colour, thought I was looking at my own Elroq lol.
when I collected mine the battery was showing over 400 miles, it’s never been the same since! I’m sure you will love it more and more as you get used to it and discovering what everything does. I’m glad you got there in the end with the payment and collecting the car.
Very sensible as said to go and look first before transferring the money. Congratulations, I’m sure you will be delighted.
Good luck tomorrow just in case I forget. I’m sure it will all go smoothly but maybe too much excitement tonight lol.😂
Your excitement levels must be off the scale now. That’s brilliant news, I hope it all goes smoothly for you. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it’s not raining, it’s not so good if it’s pouring with rain on collection.
Hi Tillyman,
If it’s any help, mine took about 10 days from the port in Germany to get to the UK, clear customs and be transported up to Aberdeen. The Elroq and Enyaq have just been listed along with Mercedes and BMW by which in their top list of best EVs.
Hi there, can’t be too long now before you collect your new Elroq, have they given you a date yet. I’m still loving mine and get lots of folk asking me about it.
Ha ha ha, good suggestion. Despite being Scottish, I’ve aquired a fairly posh English accent so I can’t really blame that, although there might be a slight West Country accent now. I’m going to work on it. It ignored me completely when I used ‘Laura’ and responded once with ‘Skoda’ but not after that.
interestingly I’ve tried the TV remote and it’s doesn’t respond at all, so now I’m thinking it’s me. I’ll have to try an extremely well spoken accent and see how I go. It would be good to use it as I don’t want to be distracted with driving. Apart from that, I’m loving the car and lots of people stop to look at it and ask me questions about it.
Hi Tillyman,
Not too long now for you!
In answer to your question, I do use it occasionally, although really only to see how my charge is progressing but it does have a useful option to lock the car remotely. I live in the middle of nowhere and often forget to lock the car. It is also easy to see things such as the total mileage and when the next service is due. Other than that I don’t use it much at all. It displays everything about your car and has a built in manual.
I need to look at it in more depth as I’m struggling to get the voice assistant to respond properly in the car. It’s called ‘Laura’ or ‘Skoda’ but for some weird reason, seems to hate my voice and ignores me at every opportunity! Lol. I ended up really shouting the commands in frustration but to no avail. I’ll get it sorted I’m sure.I’ve been listening to music in the Elroq for a while now and I can confirm that the standard sound system is very good, perfect for most people unless the music is the be all and end all. IMO you will be pleased with the sound. It’s certainly better than my old Nissan Leaf with a bass box in the boot. In fact it’s the best sound system as standard that I’ve had. I too did not test the sound system as it wasn’t high on my list of priorities, I get it that for some people, it’s extremely important. The fact that it’s very good was a nice surprise.
Ive not seen any although my friend with the Enyaq saw one in the same green colour and said he waved frantically only to notice that it wasn’t my number plate!
Ive had lots of people ask me about the car when I’ve parked up in car parks and saying that they are thinking of getting one and even more so now they’ve actually seen one. I’m the same, I get very excited when I’m waiting after ordering and the last few days are almost unbearable lol.
The Enyaq is a brilliant car, a friend has the 85x Sportline and it’s fantastic. If you need that extra boot space then it’s brilliant.
Like Tillyman, I opted for the Elroq which I’ve had for about 6 weeks now and it’s undoubtedly the best car I’ve had on Motability. It ticked all the boxes for me, it’s got more tech than I probably need but all very welcome and the boot space works for me. There is plenty of space and I no longer worry about where or if I need to charge up.
Thank you, you won’t be disappointed, I absolutely love the car and I really can’t fault it……apart from the minor niggle of where the charge point is, otherwise suits me perfectly.
The salesperson said he is selling the Elroq above all other models and is proving a great success. You will be in your new car before you know it.
May 2, 2025 at 5:56 pm in reply to: Masterplug EV charging cable 10m Mode 2 …3 pin plug type 2 #305036I’ve just been using it and checked, as already mentioned, the plug is slightly warm but not hot. I’ve been using one for months with no issues.
May 2, 2025 at 9:49 am in reply to: Masterplug EV charging cable 10m Mode 2 …3 pin plug type 2 #305020i have one of those 3 pin chargers, I’ve not noticed but will check later after I’ve used it. I understand that they can get warm but shouldn’t be hot. I’ll test it and let you know.
Sorry Tillyman, can’t help you there as I don’t have that option but it sounds really good, I’d be interested to hear how you get on with it.
Fwippers – great choice, a friend has the 4×4 and loves it.
I think if I had one criticism over my previous car (Renault Zoe) it would be that I miss the charging point position being in the front of the car. You could just drive straight up to any charger and plug in, whereas this is in the usual place rear drivers side and requires reversing in often needing a specific bay to get the cable to reach. Having said that, I mostly charge at home so it’s not a major issue.
i have to make a 1200 mile round trip soon so that will be a test for me.
Hi Tillyman,
Like you, I don’t generally pay for extras as I’m handing it back at the end of the lease. It was just as it comes, in the Edition trim it has the 19” wheels. I’ve managed well without a heat pump despite some adverse temperatures. I’m sure you will love yours when it arrives, it really is so lovely to drive. A friend has the Enyaq spotline and it’s a really nice car too but the spec on the Elroq suited me and the slightly higher driving position.
Great choice, mine is the Timiano Green, looks really nice. The team at my Škoda dealership say it’s their favourite colour along with the race blue.
i was lucky and my car was already built and at the port of exit, only took 3 weeks to get the uk, clear customs and shipped to Aberdeen.
