Thanks Kezo
very thorough and informative – but a lot to take in – if I understand correctly – the charging curve is flattened but the overall average is the same – hence no overall loss of charging speed and I suspect over time less hit on the battery and probably less of a fire risk – my car, 85 sportline, is build week 23 – so I will just have to stay old school 😂
But I’m used to that 😁👍
May 14, 2025 at 12:53 pm #305460I believe the change over date is week 24
Also don’t take battery chemistry change to LFP as a definate as at this time the only definate is a change of supplier to CATL, who are popular for LFP but, also NMC and their latest dual chemistry.
May 14, 2025 at 1:03 pm #305461Thanks – a fast changing world
May 14, 2025 at 1:15 pm #305462In the below link dated 30th April, the author has stated in the comment section thet the chemistry remains NMC cells but, from from CATL.

May 14, 2025 at 1:30 pm #305463This new battery also applies to the new Enyak 85
May 14, 2025 at 2:53 pm #305464I understand why people get hooked on numbers but in theory my car can charge at up to 300odd but I’ve not seen above 150 even at night. Finding a supercharger and then having your car at the right state of charge and temperature to maximise the charging is a challenge. However, the car will almost immediately charge at 100, climb to 120/130 quickly and then on up to 150 at a slower rate of increase. That means the 10-80 still takes 20-25 minutes.
If the new battery starts above 100, climbs to 135 and sits there to 75%, that charging ‘curve’ will mean the cars charges to 80% quicker than some supposedly superior cars.
The real world test is always that amount you put in the car in the time it takes to do what you’d do anyway. So, if your usual stop is a trip to the loo, a coffee or sandwich and drink and then back to the car, if that’s usually 20 minutes and your car can boost up to 75% in that time, it’ll be good enough for a few hours driving. If, however, your next leg is the longest one, you can either take a bit more time or wait in the car and get where you need the car to be without an excessive delay.
What used to happen was you could see the numbers ramp up to something reasonable, then almost immediately start dropping gradually, so within that 20 minutes you’d be at only 50% and would be looking at another 25-30 minutes watching the rate drop until you lose the will to live and drive off with a little less than you’d have liked.

May 14, 2025 at 5:14 pm #305469I hardly ever charge anywhere else but at home – on the rare occasions I have ie long trips to friends and family I haven’t been in any great rush – the Elroq with the extra mileage over my current Kona will make that even less of a concern.
I drive the Kona in Eco but I suspect the Elroq will just be in normal and on a motorway 70 instead of 65.
I will be interested to see how effective the preconditioning of the battery is before charging on a long run.
May 25, 2025 at 7:30 pm #305816. I have just been informed my Elroq build is week 23 so it should be ready for me end of July when my current 3 years are up.
At what point, and how, were you given this information please?
Big kid/sleeps’ till Christmas mode has kicked in 😂👍
but I really would like some idea of timescale etc.
TIA
Teejay

May 27, 2025 at 10:22 am #305878Sorry Teejay – only just seen this – for some reason it didn’t notify me.
The dealer sends me an email every now and then with the current progress.
My wife has a big birthday around the time it might be ready – so it will be a busy family time.
Consequently I specifically asked the dealer to keep me informed about any possible delay – which he has.
So just ask the dealer they should know build and expected delivery date.
May 28, 2025 at 3:28 pm #305947For anyone thinking about ordering the Elroq – if you haven’t already seen the review from which might I suggest it is worth a look!
May 28, 2025 at 4:44 pm #305949Not worth paying £8.99 a month for so can’t read it 🙂
Plenty of free reviews out there, it’s generally regarded as a very good car.
quite possibly my next car when the Enyaq goes back, depends on AP and what the specs are compared to the Enyaq in the same trim level.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
May 28, 2025 at 5:08 pm #305951I hadn’t realised it wasn’t available without subscription – bottom line it has highest rating for EV’s under 35k
i have used which to help family with purchases for years – I do the maths – tho I’m long retired its saving me and mine money over the year – when it doesn’t I will cancel.
Yes – most of the reviews are very positive – I take delivery at the end of July – I will try to give an honest assessment of how it works for me – been very happy with my current Kona – time will tell.
May 29, 2025 at 2:50 pm #305983Does anyone know for definite if the “Driver Package” is available for the Elroq in the UK? It’s essentially dynamic chassis control. Mixed results when I google it.
If you go on the UK Skoda website, and build your own Elroq, it isn’t available as an option to pick (not that I can find). But if you go on the Skoda UK website and download the PDF Elroq brochure, it’s available on there.
Thanks!
May 29, 2025 at 3:19 pm #305986My understanding is no – I have ordered the Elroq 85 sportline maxx
– the sportline has -15mm lower suspension and the turning is easier ie turn the wheel less for the same amount of turn – but if you mean the adjustable suspension etc – I suspect you can get it but only if you pay for it beyond the maxx
If it were me I would just ring a dealer and ask – good luck 👍
May 29, 2025 at 4:18 pm #305989Dynamic suspension is only available on the vRS model, not on the scheme, do the Skoda configurator, it gives you all the options etc for each trim level
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
May 29, 2025 at 7:59 pm #305992If you want DCC then look at the Enyaq 85X with Maxx Package £2,899 AP
May 29, 2025 at 9:40 pm #305994Interesting
i suspect the Enyaq Elroq debate may very well become a thing.
my next Motability car will be my seventh – never had a favourite – always looked at up front cost and suitability for my needs – don’t have to worry about resale , depreciation etc – totally different ball game to buying a car – just what is best value on the scheme that meets my requirements.
i think on paper Enyaq is a brilliant car and choice on scheme – never driven one – bigger then I need – I’m looking forward to getting my Elroq and will be happy to be perfectly honest about how it shapes up. But on paper (digital) it is ticking my boxes and lots of reviews seem to agree.
May 30, 2025 at 10:00 am #306005The Enyaq is a brilliant car, a friend has the 85x Sportline and it’s fantastic. If you need that extra boot space then it’s brilliant.
Like Tillyman, I opted for the Elroq which I’ve had for about 6 weeks now and it’s undoubtedly the best car I’ve had on Motability. It ticked all the boxes for me, it’s got more tech than I probably need but all very welcome and the boot space works for me. There is plenty of space and I no longer worry about where or if I need to charge up.
May 30, 2025 at 10:53 am #306007As usual, you order a car and you are automatically on the look out for them as you drive around – but the only Elroq I’ve seen is at the dealership.
I suspect this time next year they will be quite common – in theory my car is being built next week – one of the last not to have the new Chinese battery – by the end of June the excitement and big kid mode will definitely be engaged 😂👍
May 30, 2025 at 12:09 pm #306010Ive not seen any although my friend with the Enyaq saw one in the same green colour and said he waved frantically only to notice that it wasn’t my number plate!
Ive had lots of people ask me about the car when I’ve parked up in car parks and saying that they are thinking of getting one and even more so now they’ve actually seen one. I’m the same, I get very excited when I’m waiting after ordering and the last few days are almost unbearable lol.
June 1, 2025 at 10:52 pm #306108Thanks! 😁👍

June 1, 2025 at 11:01 pm #306109Yep

June 2, 2025 at 8:29 am #306111Glad you managed to get all the spec you wanted Teejay – and the wait begins – have they given you a date – as you are new to the scheme you may well get you car before me – mine is meant to be end of July 😁👍
June 2, 2025 at 8:35 am #306112No, still waiting on that.
I never realised the wait would be this difficult, it’s worse than awaiting Santa’s visit as a child!! 😂😂😂
I’ll just have to muster as much stoicism as I can and try to remember I’m(allegedly) an adult 😁
