You’re welcome @Xz130 good luck with it.
I’ve got my Kona EV now and absolutely loving it. My previous car was a big 7 seater with a hoist fitted, I’ve just upgraded my scooter to a super lightweight one, that me and the mrs can lift in the boot without an hoist (more the mrs than me in all honesty lol).
Hi @Xz130
I thought I remembered someone saying they had a hoist fitted in a Kona ev, scroll down this thread link below for pic. @Just2Fish has one.
I dont think ill see mine till june to be honest not worried though motability have already fitted my wall charger did it beginning of November which sucks considering i have to wait 8-9 months for my car ?
Polar opposite for me, ordered my Hyundai Kona Ultimate in August picked it up yesterday but no sign of my charger yet ?
Hyundai dealer is a couple of miles from me and they said I’m welcome to pop in for a coffee and use their rapid charger if I need to, which is very kind of them ?
Good luck with yours guys?
I wish that it was possible to buy shares in Motability Operations. With far less choice of vehicles (so less admin costs), more people extending leases due to the poor choice (a nice earner for them, as no capital outlay yet they receive the same sacrificed benefits), big increases in AP’s, huge cash reserves (so no borrowing) and now this, their profit is only going one way. Oh, I forgot. It will all help to fund the excessive pay and benefits packages that every single one of their staff enjoys. Unbelievable.
And raking it in with second hand cars worth a lot more than motability were expecting 3 years ago too.
So to raise the cost of adaptations for those that have no choice but to have them fitted is absolutely disgusting.
Just had a update this morning on my Kona ultimate which was ordered 10/08/21 status ‘at sea’ due at the dealers 7/12/21 might be sooner salesman said. ?
Hi Coral Winship
To give you some idea of timescale. This was in August……
My Kona ev was approved by Motability Tuesday I received this text Wednesday
I filled that in, then received a text from in my case from bp pulse on the Friday evening.
I would say if it’s been more than that then contact Pod point yourself and ask them.
good luck.
Pod point have been a Motability partner for a long time.
The allocation of which home charger Motability assign to us is car make dependant.
Most French make vehicles are assigned Pod point chargers.
This was told to me by Motability when I tried to not be assigned BP pulse.

I hope you find something that works for you ?
October 16, 2021 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Electric Car with hoist (or smaller electric wheelchair?) #166831These too are usually available on ebay at reasonable price
Speaking from personal experience hoists are not always the solution. You need to park on very flat ground and the scooter must be positioned in exactly the right position to load it back in.
Good luck hope you find your solution.
For some reason this got chopped from above post
October 16, 2021 at 6:23 pm in reply to: Electric Car with hoist (or smaller electric wheelchair?) #166829If you can manage with 2 seats, this scooter system is superb.
If you do a quick google search there are videos of them being loaded into cars as small as a Renault Clio.
You can normally find nearly new ones on ebay too at a reasonable price.
Or If you are able to lift 10kg the One Rehab Illusion is a full suspension scooter which breaks into parts weighing 10kg or less, and fits in most boots and is the way I’ve gone, with a Hyundai Kona EV on order.
Again nearly new ones are usually available on ebay.

I rang Motability this morning after reading the above.
Told them of my dealings with bp etc.
They deny all knowledge of them breaking with bp, even after my insisting it was checked with their manager.
I was offered two options, they (motability) would deal on my behalf with bp until fitted, or I can fund my own home charger with another company at my expense.
Correction to my above post;
I just remembered I didn’t get a message I found out about it when I phoned bp pulse to chase up my order.
Hi kbfern I have just had that exact same work done in my bungalow new kitchen loop new consumer unit, I too thought the isolation switches in the consumer unit would be sufficient.
Got a message from bp pulse saying it is in fact a separate double pole 100amp isolator switch that is required these are fitted by your energy supplier, Eon in my case.
Cost was £98.07 for the switch the top tails out of it and they supplied the two enfield blocks too.
Took about 2 weeks from order to fitting.See pic below
Agree worry free motoring is what I have experienced since 2008
I don’t usually go for Americanisms but one I do agree with is ‘thank you for your service’
So thank you for your service guys ?
Steering geometry. Any tyre fitters should have equipment to measure and adjust it.
Any tyre fitters is how you said it. I would say that kwik fit is the name that pops into most peoples minds when tyre fitters are mentioned.
I’ve used my local branch on several occasions with absolutely no bad experiences.
You would be the first person I would ask if I needed to know where to get an axe grinded though?
If it was me I would take it to a Kwik Fit or similar type tyre fitters.
Tell them your issue they will either fix it quickly or tell you it needs assessing in a body shop.
Good luck it is quite likely that it is just in need of alignment.
We should insist that the French must display a CESM (Cheese Eating Surender Monkeys) badge for travel in the UK ??
Allegedly
September 29, 2021 at 2:29 pm in reply to: Do Motability supply a free home charger with plug in hybrid cars? #165309I concur with Elliots reply
Update on mine just had this little beauty (100amp Isolator Switch) fitted,
EON also fitted the top tails and the two Enfield blocks to the immediate right of switch total cost £98.07
Pic for anyone who wonders what they are ?
What a stupid idea! This stuff needs to be kept for Emergency vehicles only. Once enough ‘ordinary’ people have the tech it will make zero difference to traffic flow as everyone will try to get the advantage at the lights and nobody will ‘win’, but what it will do is slow down Emergency vehicles who will no longer have their current advantage.
Agree it’s a stupid idea but I doubt a paid for green light will ever trump blues and twos ?
I’ve just been through the exact same thing with bp pulse, enwl and eon then found this.
Mine is being fitted by eon in 2 weeks time at a cost of £98.07
So as others above have said it’s definitely your energy supplier who fits it.
Very nice enjoy ?
I would return the PCN with a letter explaining that the vehicle was a Motability vehicle and that you ceased to be its registered keeper on handover of your new vehicle.
Give dates and the dealership details of where you exchanged.Love a good news story me, glad you’re enjoying your new car ?
