Yeah, I understand they will never be on the scheme. However, with the current state of the APs on the scheme and possible other increases due to government changes etc that like some other people have stated that they are looking at leaving the scheme when their cars are up for renewal. Could be an option for people. No service plan requirements. Test drive one…
Much prefer German car manufacturers / Tesla build & interiors.
Tesla build quality is often critised and its interiors pair well with the Nothing phone.
Yes, I also read early Tesla build quality has been criticised when I was looking into a new car. I had watched reviews like lots of people by my 2024 car that was built at Giga Berlin is great build quality. Standard of interior is good, fit and finish is on par with BMW, Audi I have previously owned. And the layout of the interior when you actually live with it is great. I didn’t think I was going to be a fan but absolutely love the screen and just how everything works. Far superior to the wife’s Ioniq 5 that is overwhelming with the amount of buttons.
Wife has an Ioniq 5 Ultimate RWD 2024 and personally after 22 months I don’t enjoy driving it. Much prefer German car manufacturers / Tesla build & interiors. Have had problems with blockages in battery coolant lines in hot weather leading to no A/C and battery overheating, car showing errors and faults. Hyundai dealer could not diagnose fault until I done some online research and suggested technician to check the battery coolant lines as someone in America had this problem. The faults would clear after a while and obviously when he plugged in computer it said there was no fault, but the blue link app would show that there was a fault in the battery system. Service agent stated Hyundai didn’t actually run the app and it was by a third party who did. Whether that is true I haven’t looked into it. Not encouraging. Recalls for iccu and 12v to be replaced. Charge flap replaced due to being warped from factory. Tyre sealant kit under boot floor had burst from factory, ipedal system is very poor, not real 1 foot driving in my wife’s car anyways. Wired apple carplay is poor / dated. Hyundai infotainment is laggy and poor, having to press accept/ok every time you enter the car is tedious. Having to turn off lane warning every time you want to drive, ipedal disengaging every time you change drive mode, again annoying. RWD is very skittish in any moisture, even with Michelins & Pirelli’s on. Suspension is too soft for my liking, N line would be stiffer which is needed in my opinion. Bose sound system is terrible, had multiple cars with Bose, Harmon Kardon, B&O, Logic 7 and this is by far the worst. Bluelink app remote services is laggy and the scheduled climate only works if the car is plugged in, which you don’t want to plug in every night and we have 2 EVs so rotate who requires charger. Just don’t think the car lives up to its 50k RRP. We will be moving on from Hyundai Feb 2027. Just giving some opinions, some peoples car has been fine and yeah it’s ‘nice and new’ but even without the faults and recalls I still wouldn’t recommend it as the APs are not cheap. Thought we would try Hyundai from watching & reading reviews. Had worse, had better.

My partner had a Megane E tech Iconic. Handed it back after 4 weeks. Firstly to answer your question on the HK sound system. It was decent, not as good as previous Bose & HK systems I have had in Audi & BMW but could still hold its own well for the size of the car.
It went back to the dealer after 24 hours for 9 days due to a well known alarm fault and the wires needing extra insulation above the headliner as the interference was setting off the sensors inside. The alarm would set off everytime you locked it and walked away. Very frustrating and embarrassing. The dealership were trying to tell her it would be weeks until they could get it in but we said we would leave the car at the garage as the alarm was disturbing neighbours and our children. Winter range was approx 140-170 miles at 100%. Charging speeds at the likes at Osprey were poor, charging curve is not very good.
I suggest you join the Megane E Tech Owners Club on Facebook and see alot of issues for yourself. It was nice to drive and comes pretty well specced for the AP but just was extremely frustrated with Renault service and it took the shine off the car for her. Hopefully they remedy a lot of known issues.Just an update for anyone else with an Enyaq / Enyaq Coupe on order. We ordered 2nd Jan and was told 12/14 weeks for delivery. Just spoke to dealership today and said it was now hopefully 20/24 due to demand. We’ve cancelled our order as we cannot wait that long due to circumstances.
Never get a dealers bolt on ceramic coating / GardX rubbish. It isn’t applied by a detailer. Zero prep as you have said. Some don’t even actually apply it and just put a sticker on to say it is.
Id send in photographs and try and get the cost refunded.
Great to hear the car itself is a beast!
The ev6 was high on my lust, but the issue I had with it and the same for three Enyaq Coupe, Ionic 5 and bnwi4 us that there is no rear wiper fitted. I found the ionic 5 suited my personal needs mire, bugger boot, lighter interior. My no1 is still the Enyaq suv 4×4 Sportline, again, suits my needs more. I am surprised that the ev6 AP isniw Mike’s away from the ionic5 and Enyaq
The Enyaq Coupe does have a rear wind screen wiper.
December 26, 2023 at 1:04 pm in reply to: What would you like to see on 1st Jan / New Quarter #252351I was in my local Kia dealership a few days ago and the Motability specialist was saying that they are expecting the APs for the EV6 to drop substantially in Q1 2024, we will soon see…
