Ive noticed a problem with the original thread, taking me to page 1 of the thread. Assuming its the same problem as my original Brexit thread (stolen by WMC lol) that there were too many pages, i have started another weather thread (stolen from lightbodyae55 lol).

May 23, 2020 at 11:23 am #113687
GeorgieSunny spells with occasional light showers, a bit breezy and a bit cooler. Quite nice, actually.
One window open a bit and what I can hear right now – 3 Blackbirds are still going strong at the moment calling across a wide range. Cuckoo over in the wood. Pigeon cooing.
Male Great Spotted Woodpecker on the fat ball feeder earlier on (we get Great and Lesser Spotted, but I’ve never seen a Green one in the garden), plus a visit from our two ‘local’ squirrels – the male at the hazelnut feeder and the female sitting on the seed platform. Even though squirrels don’t stay together after mating, these two seem to tolerate each other quite happily.
May 23, 2020 at 7:54 pm #113740Well that’s the high wind gone, thank god, rain forecast for the next couple of days 🙁

GeorgieTree pollen’s starting to be a problem. I’mused to the cars turning yellow every spring, but this year the furniture’s getting covered as well because the patio doors are kept open all day because we’re home all day. Yesterday my throat felt really sore and tender.
May 25, 2020 at 5:51 pm #113844Not to well sorry to say Brydo. Thanks for asking.

MikeGorgeous here today blue sky hot sun again I’m off to river today to see the boats
May 30, 2020 at 9:11 am #114072
GeorgieLovely and Sunny here and not too hot, yet. Going to see the boats on the river sounds lovely, Mike. Taking a flask and a sarnie?
I can’t wait to get back down to Southsea so I can sit and watch the ships – it’s only 30 minutes away. The Solent must look very empty at the moment, with no ferries running and, surely, much reduced Freight shipping for Southampton. I wish I could see it, but going by all the piccies in the papers the South Coast is an absolute Zoo at the moment. They’re even doing Advance Bookings for a space in West Wittering car park!

MikeMake most of it not so good Wednesday onwards

ThargBright, sunny,cloud-free; delightful all round. Sadly though, you are right, Georgie – the coastal zoo is already filling up! Did a quick recce along coast to west of Worthing and it was over half full at 8.15ish this morning. Chez Tharg is a quarter mile from sea but inconsiderate parking reaches from beach right up to us. What it is actually like on the beach I shudder to think!
May 30, 2020 at 9:47 am #114079You’re right, Mike, the Spanish medical service is not like our NHS. It’s considerably better – at least in Torrevieja where my father in law spent the last 25 years of his life. So many Brits retired there, they built a new hospital with a specialist geriatric unit.

MikeBut Wigwam I wouldn’t get my monthly tablets and medical supplies free would I ? That is the place you mention I have saw looks lovely Benidorm too busy for me ! I have £200.000 cash to spend
May 30, 2020 at 9:56 am #114081

May 30, 2020 at 9:58 am #114082
MikeI just love the sunshine hate winters here

BrydoTharg you brought back many excellent memories, I spent a fortnight on holiday down your way when I was sixteen. I think we stayed in Horsham, near Worthing. I remember sitting on the beach with a pint in my hand and a beautiful girl on my arm, great memories.

GeorgieI love the area around Brighton and often visit off Season, but it does get the London Crowds as soon as the Sun comes out: A23 down to Brighton, A24 down to Worthing.
I seem to be slowly migrating west – Grew up in North-Berkshire-that-became-South-Oxfordshire, but then got hitched and moved to Kent, now in Hampshire, hoping for Dorset once DH retires/gets laid off (whichever comes first). ‘Near the sea but not by the sea’ is the plan.

ThargGeorgie, Brydo – apols for tardy reply. Saturdays tend to get away from me at the moment! Brydo, glad you like you hols down this way. The beaches here are nice but the real stunner is the South Downs. Classic, cliche rolling hills, great views and oh so green. I think the Downs are nearly the best “English Countryside” you can get. Only place to beat ’em being Rutland.
Georgie – like you, I’ve been gradually heading this way: started in sarf London (Old Kent Road) then suburban and rural Kent (Well Hill, amazing place), thence to Croydon and lastly here (village west of Worthing). Really delightful here – St Mary Mead on sea with every other neighbour being one of Miss Marple’s long lost relatives!
