I thought I would make a thread on what caught you eye in the news good or bad. This follows on from last week when I posted about the MP Lee Anderson who suggested we could cook a meal from scratch for 30p and foodbanks weren’t needed if we could cook.
So today another Tory MP Racheal Maclean the safeguarding minister has said “That people struggling with the cost of living should take on more hours or move to a better-paid job”
How does a comment like this help the most vulnerable in society. Those that can’t work, the disabled pensioners or even those that can only take up low paid work for what ever reason. I find Mp’s and ministers are so out of touch with with the public, the comments they come out with are beyond nonsense.

Yes – just like phrases such as backdoor, underhanded, avoidance, hot water and difficult situations are common to Tory MP’s. Just as “revolving door” is common with it leaders ?

$308m design for King Charles’ superyacht unveiled
King Charles is getting his very own superyacht as paid for by the British taxpayer. It’s still in the planning stage at the moment, but London-based firm Vitruvius Yachts have revealed their previously confidential proposal for the Royal Yacht Britannia.
If we, the tax payer are funding this, then I want my long weekend booked in now. Before the rush.

As for Zahawi-he is just one of a long line of corupt politicians in the Tory party currently, who think they are above everyone else, just like their leader!!
Trouble is the Johnson faction of MPs. Sunak needs to keep them onside and Zahawi is a big mate of Johnson, so sacking him will bring him grief from the Johnsonites.
He’ll be doing deals to appease them before deposing Zahawi.

Personally i find her cheek to argue that she had a mandate that everyone disrespected funny.

Funny of course because she didn’t have a mandate. Johnson did. Neither Sunak nor Truss were democratically elected. Unless she wants to argue that the comparatively few “conservative party members” are able to override the public. I mean, of course she does, but yeah.. funny.
Imagine the nuclear fallout if Labour did this – Starmer gets elected, takes his hat after two weeks of vacation in No10, install Corbyn and then go ahead by ruining the country in the opposite direction of Truss while arguing that “he has a mandate”. The country would light on fire, probably quite literally.

Oooh indeed. There also seems like there is a lot of infighting going on in the race to become the next first minister, along with some strange comments from the likes of that Kate.
