Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Spongy is my word for them 🙂
They take some getting used to as they use the motors for initial slow down, and of course they have drum brakes on the rear so they’re not great either!, but they do stop you.
I think the most surprising thing for me was while driving in B mode and decellerating I went to apply the brakes and as soon as I lightly touched the brake pedal the regen switched off and the brake pedal came back up towards my foot! the car then sped up before I pressed it further down!
It’s a learning curve and you’ll get used to it 🙂
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

September 19, 2024 at 12:24 pm #288914I haven’t noticed anything wrong with the brakes, they feel OK, progressive not snatchy like citroen. I don’t think I ever really noticed they were any different than “normal” they do work extremely well tho had a couple of emergency stops done
What do you find wrong

September 19, 2024 at 1:12 pm #288922They remind me of the days before disc brakes were commonplace on cars which is not surprising given the rears are drums. At speed they give me no confidence at all.
September 19, 2024 at 2:19 pm #288931It’s strange I really didn’t notice much difference between a diesel 3008, mg hs PHEV and the Enyaq in terms of braking performance. Those being the most recent cars I’ve driven
Unless it’s different trim levels mines an 85x. I had an emergency stop from 60 to stop due to a moron in front of me and the car stopped and felt perfectly. The car feels like it’s glued to the road like poo on a blanket
Maybe it’s because it’s my second EV now. Brakes certainly feel better than my sons C4 too.
I did find the 60 on the test drive brakes felt a bit meh but I chalked that up to being a loaner but maybe it wasn’t
September 19, 2024 at 2:46 pm #288935It’s an 85x. Don’t get me wrong I’ve done emergency stops but it certainly feels different and doesn’t give me the confidence the BMW did. It does feel like stepping back in time.
September 19, 2024 at 8:11 pm #288964Today i have cancelled the Mustang Mach E what i have had on order since June, main reason is the worsening finger arthritis and how it would be affected by the weird front door handles which only let you use your finger ends to pull open the front doors,i am in pain when i lift the electric window buttons as it is, in my current car,i use the index and middle fingers to do it.
So i am going to order an 85X Sportline tomorrow.
I have a choice of two colours Black Magic pearl or Graphite Grey metallic…..anyone got either of those colours.
September 19, 2024 at 9:07 pm #288970You won’t be Disappointed with the 85X Enyaq.
I’m only a day in of ownership of an 85x Coupe & I love it! Today I did a 120 mile journey & only used the pedals a couple of times. With ACC on & speed sign recognition enabled the car almost drove itself! Even at roundabouts the car slowed down & if it was clear then I just let the car control the speed & just guided it around the bends!
It’s an amazing car & for me worth the 9 month wait! You’ll love it!

September 19, 2024 at 9:12 pm #288971If you turn on travel assist it even steers the car too lol
I have the black magic colour it’s lovely
September 21, 2024 at 12:34 am #289019Ordered a graphite grey 85x, it is already in Grimsby docks.
Anyone else interested the dealership group have a Black one a White one a Blue one available too.
September 21, 2024 at 8:03 pm #289072My 1st couple of days I’ve been getting 4.1kwh mainly driving in Sport mode which is constant 4 wheel drive and using a mixture if D & B mode. So far, I haven’t encountered any problems and the car is so easy to drive, it’s effortless!
The only thing I have done is turned the PIN access off on the infotainment system. I know it’s a security feature but it got on my nerves having to enter a PIN every time I got in the car!
Had my 1st charge today, used my granny charger to add 12% on 8amp trickle charge, I found it quite simple to do and it will do until I get my other charger fitted!
Great car, NO regrets!

OMG. 😂September 21, 2024 at 11:05 pm #289079Give it about 6 to 12 months and they turn to a huge blob as they melt! It’s a very well know problem 🙂

Did you recently order the grey and its already here or you’ve waited months?
Also are the blue white and black available at the docks too ?
Are they 85x models ?
Weird because our local dealer said theres absolutely no chance of getting one without a 10onth wait as every car is built to order and no spares
September 22, 2024 at 4:34 pm #289096Your salesman might be correct but people do cancel. I was offered a white one 2 months before my black one arrived. They do get the odd spare they’re rare but it does happen

I put out a new car wanted on Carwow, and i had a reply from my localish Skoda dealership, phoned them and asked at what stage the cars were at and i was told they had four 85x Sportline in the delivery pipeline they were at Grimsby,so i choose the Graphite Grey……The dealership is Vertu / Bristol Street Motors.
I also had a reply from a dealership in Leicester yesterday that they had a Graphite Grey 85x
Hi Mick,
We do currently have the above available for immediate delivery in Graphite Grey.Would you like to come and see the vehicle?

Thanks mick, im only 8 miles from Bristol street motors, now im in a bit of a predicament.
We originally wanted the 85x coupe but the dealer closer to us in Stourbridge didn’t even have a car on display or to test drive, he let us sit in a customers non coupe for a few minutes and said it will be at least 10 months minimum.
We test drove the ioniq 5 AWD afterwards and decided to order that instead because we couldn’t compare the skoda by driving it and the ioniq 5 was the smoothest car ive ever drove, just soaked up the bumps on the 20 inch wheels and had bags of torque.
However we can now only get the RWD with less power, im tempted to call them and see if they still have them and ask for a test drive

September 23, 2024 at 12:09 pm #289141We looked at the Ioniq but the capacity in the boot and rear seats just destroys it. I test drive the rwd and it was awesome but compared to the awd enyaq driving round sharp bends at speed on C roads it just feels glued to the road.
I’d go try another dealer our local dealer gave me the car for a full working day no arguments. There does seem to be cars about if you’re not fussy about colour, good luck though.
I really really wanted to prefer the Ioniq 5 as I love the look it looks a lot like my first car a Renault 11 txe electronic good memories lol

Whats up with the rear/seats in the Ioniq 5? I always thought it was like a Tardis 😂
Shame you didn’t test AWD 5 at the time for a true comparison lol.
September 23, 2024 at 12:54 pm #289145Yeah but Awd ioniq wasn’t an option at the time too expensive plus no dealers had one as a test drive car.
Middle seat isn’t terribly roomy, leg room wasn’t as good with drivers seat where I need it, it’s not cramped at all but it’s just not as big. Plus the boot floor in the Ioniq is really high there’s nowhere near as much floor to ceiling height so lifting a scooter in not as good plus getting dogs in and out and head room for them.
If you don’t need the boot space or regularly carry a carfull of 5 adults then it’s not an issue. I dunno wasn’t easy to put my finger on but just liked the Enyaq more but that’s all personal. They’re both awesome cars.
Just had a price for a towbar £600 ouch lol

I test drove the ioniq 5 and viewed the enyaq both on the same day and theres definitely more room in the back of the ioniq 5, you must have viewed it with the rear seat slid all the way forward because the ioniq was one of the roomiest cars ive seen for the rear leg space due to its huge 3 metre wheel base, also once you slide the ioniq 5 rear seats to the most forward position which still hasplenty leg room the boot is easily as big as an enyaw boot.
The only down fall is its deep flat shape makes it unsuitable for dogs and very tall items.
The ioniq 5 beats enyaq in the banana box test too, see link

Can’t comment on the middle seat as not something I particularly look at but, the legroom in the 5 is much better not as it matters as they are both have roomy interiors. The Enyaks boot is better laid out, though theres only 60l between them. The sharp hatch on the 5 doesn’t help.
Shame the AWD 5 wasn’t available at the time, I can remember it been bonkers quick at the time, perhaps too quick for every day driving lol.
I prefered the 5 especially the dashboard and twin screens, as it looked more like a car along with Hyundai not leaving you wanting options but, were all different in life. In the end I deciced agains’t BEV and went PHEV.
September 23, 2024 at 4:07 pm #289153Maybe it’s how you have your seat but measuring where my knees were between both cars there was a considerable bigger gap between seat back and knee in the Enyaq. I really noticed it in the Ioniq thought it was really poor when I sat in it. We have 2 teenage boys so need the space.
Dunno how they claim 520l in the 5 definitely couldn’t fit dogs in the boot for a long journey. It’s weird how the claimed volume is so close yet when you look it looks way smaller (I did a cheeky park side by side whilst on the Enyaq test drive pmsl) The floor height 56cm for the Enyaq vs 75cm for the 5 make a huge difference and that sloping roof…
I definitely prefer the dashboard in the Ioniq, I don’t like the tiny screen in the Enyaq but it’s just toys at the end of the day lol
Anyway won’t drag the Enyaq thread off course again.

The boot is definitely 520 litres, its 580 litres when you slide the rear seats forward.
Dont forget the boot is only measured below the load cover not the area above, however this makes no difference.
The enyaq has a slightly bigger boot and ioniq 5 has a bigger rear seating area with more leg room, proven by the banana box video above, you cannot argue with that.
September 23, 2024 at 10:59 pm #289197It’s the Enyaq that’s 580 litres wasnt talking about the 5 there. What I meant was given the very small difference between the figures it’s surprising how very much more practical the Enyaqs boot is you cannot put two medium sized dogs in the 5 comfortably and putting my boot scooter in the 5 left very little room for suitcases, you’d be using smaller bags to fit in around it instead
As for a banana box haven’t seen anything about that but humans don’t sit like a cardboard box maybe it’s to do with the seat angle but I have been in both and the Enyaq is a lot more roomy. I don’t really care either way as 8 said I liked the 5 but it wasn’t practical with that high boot floor and low roof regardless of volume measurement.
I won’t say anymore on the matter as it’s just a waste of time and daft as long as everyone’s happy in their choice that’s all that counts
