Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.

So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

@colinskoda nice! Really looking forward to getting my Enyaq. It might be a long wait still, possibly June. I ordered in late November, still no build date.

I’ve just heard that my 85x sportine ordered on the 10th of October is ready to collect next week. It’s a little bittersweet as the dealer refused to resubmit my order saving £400. Also the collection is 3 weeks before the 5 year lease is up and therefore I’ll lose another £250 GCB. Its taken the excitement away from collecting the car.

I am hopeful that my car is on this boat which is heading to Grimsby port at the moment– the dealer expects to be able to hand over at the end of this month so it getting to grimsby, heading to the dealer, PDI and the 4 day rule hopefully means that if my car isn’t in the UK yet, its imminent!

I managed to get a 2 hour test drive in the Enyaq today at Ingrams, Ayr and what a car is it.  My order date is 22nd March so i have an appointment made  to order a 85x Sportline Plus in moon white.  Was told today to expect an 18 week wait for delivery but also said it may be quicker as delivery times are improving.

Collect it when you are ready and not before. No reason why you should be out of pocket just because it got here sooner than expected, an if you’re up for it tell the dealer that you’ll cancel and re-order to get it at the lower AP, they might change their mind. My dealer did it all be it a little reluctantly but there is nothing lost for them so it worth insisting.

I wonder if dealers wait until there is enough stock to fill a transporter to take it to them? You dont tend to see transporters with one or two cars on- they are usually full so maybe yours is caught up waiting for additional dealer stock to join it before heading to the dealership?

I think the transporters will do multiple drop offs in the area, if your dealer only has 3 cars, they’ll probably only pay for 3, the transporter will probably drop another 3 to a nearby dealer. Also, I would imagine there’s a time limit the car can stay at the port without incurring storage fees. I’m only guessing, I could be mistaken.

and that’s the reason why most of Škoda dealers (and other) taking no return deposit. People what to cancel and re order because of AP dropped but if it would go up would you do the same ? Don’t think so. It’s hard to find a dealer which will cancel and reorder for the less AP.

Most dealers have no problem if the AP reduces, read the posts on here.

They don’t have to cancel and re-order the carat all, it’s only the Motability paperwork that’s re-submitted.  It only takes about 10 – 20mins and it costs the dealer nothing at all to do it.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

It’s not even a cancel and reorder it’s just an admin on one system.  My dealer phoned me that without asking they changed the order to save me £400.  I would’ve asked but they did it for me.  The order date hasn’t changed on Skoda’s system so it couldn’t have been “cancelled” or the date would’ve changed.

I can see why if a car was ordered 2 quarter previous why they wouldnt want to but if it’s within weeks or a month or 2 why not it doesn’t cost anyone money it’s admin.

This needs rectifying at Motability there needs to be a policy of the AP being a cap so if it goes down we are protected especially given the quite long waits for cars these days too and if it goes up then you pay the price at the time of the order.  It’s all well and good saying you should just pay what you ordered but considering AP’s are really high now vs the past and considering how much money Motability are sitting on these days I think it’s quite literally the least they can do.  If electricity companies can run a tariff with a cap and swallow the loss if prices shoot up when they have no control over the market then Motability who in some way have control over the finances can look after the customer instead of the banks who own it.

when I asked as skoda wings about this they told me they have clear instructions from motability to do not change paper work to reduce AP.

As with everything else Motability  the information you get depends on the experience and training of your sales person. Even Motability can’t give the same answer to a question asked twice so no wonder showroom staff can’t either. My salesman told me that they can honour the new AP if it has dropped because the resale price of the car has dropped, but not if the resale price of the car hasn’t changed. I don’t believe that for a minute  as  We all know that the AP isn’t linked to the resale price of the vehicle. I’ve had 4 Motability cars and on 2 of those occasions when it has been time to collect the car the dealer has asked me for the AP at the time of collection without any consideration of the fact that the AP on the paperwork is what it was at the time of ordering . As it was lower I didn’t question it. It’s also true that each car I’ve had has had a higher spec and retale price than the previous but the AP I have paid has been lower . Seat Alhambra £2k, Peugeot 5008 £1,600, VW Touran, £1,500, VW Tiguan allspace £1,350 . Next car is an Enyaq with AP of £900, it was a bargain with an AP of £1,300 when I ordered it and I’ve had it at that price if my dealer had refused to resubmit the Motability paperwork but I’d had been a fool not to ask.
