Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Ive read on the Motability FB group (take with pinch of salt) someone says they phoned Motability and they said the reason the 85’s have been removed is because Skoda cant keep up with the orders they are getting off motability.
January 5, 2024 at 11:45 pm #254062Guess my chance at a reduced AP just went out of the window especially if the car does come back on higher… Still I signed up at 2500, so if that’s what it needs to be….

January 6, 2024 at 9:43 am #254073I’ve finally had my motability application updated to the new model but at the last quarter pricing. I’ve just spoken to them and they won’t offer the lower price as a gesture of goodwill. Even tried to fob me off by saying that the 85x never came onto the scheme in Q1. Hey ho, I’m happy that it’s finally been changed but the £400 off would have been really helpful.
January 6, 2024 at 9:52 am #254075When did you order? it it’s a recent order I’d cancel and go elsewhere and re-order, £400 is £400.
It’s not a “gesture of goodwill” it doesn’t cost the dealer anything at all to do it, it’s literally 5 minutes of typing.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Absolutely, cancel the order, go to another dealer and order with them, you will get your car for £400 less – obvious. I would also report the ‘offending’ dealer to Motability too.??
Kind regards

Just go to another dealer for the lower price, you may end up waiting longer – that is the choice. Don’t try reporting them to Motability because the practice of getting the lower AP is against Motability rules, so it may cause you more hassle than you bargained for.
January 6, 2024 at 11:51 am #254100Also be careful that the car is still on the scheme to reorder as some Enyaq’s have disappeared at the minute. Also make sure you still have 12 months of your award left or they won’t let you reorder!
January 6, 2024 at 12:34 pm #254112Hi All,
Just visited my local Skoda dealer for test drive of an 85. Very impressed. Whilst there he contacted Motability on their dedicated dealer number and questioned the removal of the 85 from the list. Official statement is that due to excess of orders and scarcity of parts Skoda and Motability have agreed to remove said option. May return at later date so not able to order only order if dealer has stock, best of luck with that. He had the call on speaker so l could listen in.

Dealers have to follow a code of conduct with Motability. If one dealer allows a change of order (at a reduced cost), then so should all dealers.Kind regards

Morability rules are that the price should not change once a contract has been agreed.
If a dealer wants to reduce that price, they can, if they want to increase the price (in certain circumstances, change of model etc) they can, but not if the contract doesn’t change.
January 6, 2024 at 1:08 pm #254119I ordered a 85x Sportline Coupe on the 27th Dec which was modified on the 2nd Jan due to an error on the order. My mobility account still shows the correct car & AP of £2699 -£750.
How long will it be before the factory confirms the order & could it still be cancelled?

Why should any Motability customer pay £400 more for the same car? This is just profiteering, all dealers should offer this refund as part of their standard Motability service ( as confirmed by other posts in this thread).
Vote with your feet (if you’re happy to wait longer for the same car) and save £400.??
Kind regards

Because that’s the rules you order under. Dealers adjusting orders to your benefit is technically bending the rules.
If anyone kicks up a fuss about a practice that realistically shouldn’t be happening then all that MB will do is bring in rules to stop dealers doing it.
Yes you can cancel and reorder and best doing that rather than cause issues.

B3cause if the price went up by £400 would you expect to pay the increase?
You have entered a contract with a set AP.

Exactly this!
January 7, 2024 at 8:24 am #254173When placing an order I always ask if they will adjust the price if the AP is reduced in future, they have never said they wouldn’t. Problem avoided!

Absolutely, However, we are talking about a reduction in AP and this reduction has been applied to existing orders by some dealers, but not all dealers. Either the Motability contract is fixed, or it isn’t and the fact some dealers are passing on the reduction proves the contract is not fixed…

That is great to hear, so maybe we are debating a scenario that Motability will resolve by default, and pass on the discount! ??

You were lucky @Jojoe ask @Oscarmax if they applied the same gesture to him.

They absolutely won’t resolve by default. To be 100% clear, the AP at the point you order is the AP you pay (“We freeze the price at the time you apply. This means it’s locked, even if it changes before you get your vehicle.”) That is the Motability rule. Some dealers may choose to cancel and reorder the car through the Motability system, however this is against Motability rules. Some dealers are very strict with this rule – if they are found to be doing this they could be struck off the scheme. Motability currently have no way of stopping this however as it would essentially mean dealers wouldn’t be able to cancel any orders. I’d suggest that Jojoe got very lucky in their approach.
January 7, 2024 at 11:46 am #254206Motability state “If you need to pay an AP, the amount is fixed when you order your car.”
https://www.motability.co.uk/how-it-works/payments/
Its at the sole discretion of the supplying dealer whether they will cancel and reorder the vehicle at the lower AP!
Most dealers will, as its only admin on Motability’s side. However if a dealer refuses, you are perfectly entitled to cancel and reorder the vehicle from the same or other dealer.
Its always worth asking at the point of ordering, if the supplying dealer will honour this, as it saves any hastle later, should the AP go down.
