Could Prime Minister Boris Johnson break up the UK?

The Scottish Conservative (and Unionist) party has enjoyed something of resurgence in recent years under the energetic leadership of Ruth Davidson.

The party’s opponents are convinced that Boris Johnson as prime minister could put an end to all that – and could even put an end to the union between Scotland the rest of the UK.

It’s true that Mr Johnson could hardly be more different from the down to earth, plain speaking and Remain-voting Ms Davidson. The two are not friends and have vehemently disagreed before.

Some observers like to speculate that Boris will appear to Scottish voters to be the very epitome of the upper-class English ruling caste that Scots so dislike. But policy may well prove to be more important than personality.

Mr Johnson appeared to have a weak grasp of the dynamics of devolution when he proposed tax changes that take no account of the fact that income tax rates in Scotland are set by the Scottish Parliament.

But since then he has promised Scottish Tory MPs he will set up a “union unit” inside No 10 to check every policy. If he knows what he doesn’t know, then maybe he can avoid these gaffes as PM.

It’s Brexit that may be his undoing, in so many ways. In Remain-voting Scotland, his problem is that the idea of a no deal Brexit is far less palatable than it is in the rest of the UK. The harder the Brexit Boris delivers, the more the Tory party in Scotland could suffer.

If Prime Minister Johnson [he will officially take on the role this Wednesday] pursues a Brexit policy at odds with what most voters in Scotland would like to see, then it’s possible they may change their minds about whether remaining part of the UK is in their best interests. Some recent polling evidence suggests as many as 60% of voters could vote “yes” to independence if we leave the EU with no deal.

In the end it may not be the precise details of any Brexit deal that stokes desire for independence – or indeed the character of any individual politician – but a sense that Scotland has different aspirations from the rest of the UK, which can’t be reconciled within the current union.

If Mr Johnson wants to keep the kingdom united, he will need to take care not fan those flames.

The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.

There are two types of BSP threads; Tapered (BSPT) and parallel (BSPP).

There are indeed. Today I am using the parallel variety. To remain off topic, it’s interesting to note that that great Victorian engineer Sir Joseph Whitworth invented the BSP thread form and it is used to this day all over the world except the USA where they felt the need to use something different.

Mike the key to taking an informed position is by listening to both sides of the argument, weighing up the points made on both sides and then deciding if its true. At this stage BJ is innocent of any wrong doing, and I hope that is the case. However there are rumours he was in a sexual relationship with this woman and if this is the case, and it does sound like BJ, he should have declared it.

I have made this very point several times in the last few posts ie-

‘there are two sides to every story’,

                    and to this end –

                    House of Commons.

                    Quote –
‘Members shall fulfil conscientiously the requirements of the House in respect of the registration of interests in the Register of Members’ Financial Interests.’

So, Brydo, the other side of the story is that  on the principle that he is innocent until proven guilty, and the fact that he has denied any involvement in the grant to the lady concerned, he was therefore not obliged to register any Financial Interest.

Brydo, this is so clearly and blatantly a ‘stitch up’ with one purpose in mind ie to thwart Brexit.

It seems that anti – democracy , un-representative loser politicians, are determined to usurp the will of 17+ million Brexit voters, plus those remain voters like me who’ , are so disgusted by the creepy anti -democratic antics of a bunch of sore losers, that we have changed sides, and we will have swollen the numbers to 25 million or more hopefully, and , frankly , for the sake of democracy, RE-moaners must not be allowed to prevail!

What really gets me Brydo however, is the rampant hypocrisy of BoJo accusers, – the lies ,deceit and bile spat out by Corbyn and Co.., and also Remainers flying in the face of democracy , are unquestioned and perfectly acceptable it seems, and every trick in the book being utilised to get rid if a sitting Prime Minister by virtue of a diverse political alliance staging a coup, is seen as perfectly acceptable yet putting themselves in front of ‘the people’ , whom they are supposed to represent, is seen as not normal.

But all of these shenanigans are for one purpose only – to stop,Brexit!

Frankly, there are no actual brexit problems in the uk that can’t be solved by dismissing a load of politicians in the commons (via a General Election) who keep denying the will of the U.K. electorate.

These Remainers are giving succour to the EU & to Ireland , which of course also has its nickers in a twist about brexit , and unfortunatlty, their cropped Irish tail is wagging the U.K. dog!

The special arrangement for Northern Ireland in the Withdrawal Agreement was voted down three times , so Parliament wont let Ireland ( South )have what they want , nor will Parliament serve the will of the people !

Forever attempting to deny the biggest democratic mandate ever, is criminal frankly, and denying the people a General Election is not cowardice as seen by some, it is ‘skullduggery ‘ – purely and simpley !

                        https://www.europeanlawmonitor.org/eu-referendum-topics/the-eu-referendum-result-has-no-democratic-legitimacy-at-all.html

Why the EU referendum result has no democratic legitimacy

On the 23rd June 2016, the UK was supposed to take part in the biggest exercise of democracy it has ever had. Leave campaigners heralded the EU referendum as a “vote for democracy”, however the dishonest practices of Vote Leave and its campaigners has quite possibly turned the EU referendum into one the biggest abuses of democratic process this country has ever seen.

For the EU referendum campaign, Vote Leave created a website and published numerous campaign leaflets on a range of topics, including immigration, border controls, migration (including Turkish membership) EU contributions and national security. They also created a primary document, called “Why Vote Leave on the 23rd June” which amalgamated the key messages of the campaign.

The core messages from Vote Leave were

immigration is out of control and we will regain control once we leave,
                        we can’t control our borders
we pay £350m a week to the EU which we could spend on the NHS instead
we are not in control of our defence
we have no control or input into anything that happens in the EU and we are consistently outvoted,
the unelected European Commission controls our law,
terrorists and violent criminals can come into the UK with impunity and we can’t do anything about it,
                        the European courts control us,
the Charter of Fundamental Rights gives the European Court of Justice unlimited power,
an EU army is on its way, which our army will be forced to join
Turkey, Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia will be joining by 2020
We can’t stop any of these countries joining
We have no control as members of the EU.
                        Scary stuff.

Except… none of the above statements are true.

Not one, “not even one “of Vote Leave documents compared in untruths and exaggeration to the massive remain publicity campaign, in the media and on the TV etc., with political leaders urging us to remain in the EU and the very very biased remain leaflet delivered to every household in the U.K. Brydo.

You are going round in circles, as all of these weak arguments against the Leave campaign have already been churned and churned and churned, and it is now absolutely pitiful desperation measures coming from remain, as Brexit gets ever closer!

I voted remain, and I was happy and comfortable in voting remain, but because of the Project Fear lies and the pathetic attempts to frighten gullible people , which unfortunately includes many ‘innocent ‘disabled people,  I could not associate myself with remain any longer , and neither could very many of my friends and associates, and not just the disabled friends!

Nigel Farage: No police action over ‘take the knife’ comments

Police say they will not be taking further action over comments made by Nigel Farage in a speech to supporters.

Gwent Police said they received complaints from the public after a video on social media showed the Brexit Party leader saying “we’ll take the knife” to civil servants.

In a tweet, Alliance Party MEP Naomi Long suggested the address in Newport was a “an incitement to violence”.

Police said the comments did not constitute a criminal offence.

Mr Farage’s address to delegates and party members came during the Brexit Party Conference tour on 21 September.

In a video of the address, the MEP can be heard saying the bosses of the ports of Calais and Dover report they are “100% ready for Brexit in whatever form it comes”.

Mr Farage added: “I suggest we listen to them and not the overpaid pen pushers in Whitehall who are not doing a neutral job. And once Brexit’s done, we’ll take the knife to them.”

Do MPs need to mind their language?
Farage warns Johnson over ‘reheated Brexit deal’
The language used by politicians over Brexit has come under the spotlight this week, with a number of MPs during Commons debates on Wednesday and Thursday criticising the prime minister’s choice of words.

Referring to Mr Farage’s speech, Ms Long, one Northern Ireland’s three representatives in the European Parliament, sent a tweet to police on Friday evening.

It asked them to “confirm that you intend to investigate this clear case of incitement to violence against staff in the Civil Service?”

Gwent Police said it was “looking into” the allegations.

Within hours, it issued a statement saying: “We are aware of the heightened tensions that exist regarding use of language, and take all allegations and concerns from members of the public very seriously.

“However, following a thorough assessment, it is our view that the comments in the video, do not constitute a criminal offence. As such, Gwent Police will not be taking any further action.”

The Brexit Party has not yet responded.

In a tweet, Mr Farage posted a link to a Sky News report about the police inquiry, writing: “I should have said ‘take the axe’, which is a more traditional term for cuts.”

Remainer MPs taking umbridge over the words surrender and humbug! I’ve never seen or heard such utter rubbish in my life and we’re expected to look up to these people?! Seriously?!

Funny how they had no such reservations about calling leave voters everything from Nazi’s, fascists, far right, far right thugs and a whole host of other names, equally as slanderous.

on other occasions we’ve heard an MP say she would stab Corbyn in the front, albeit metaphorically speaking and various other MPs have said things that are far from being appropriate but now they get haughty over the words humbug, surrender and traitor is frankly a bit rich.

I’m not wholly sure how it happened, you’d have thought that after the expenses scandal, voters would have learned their lesson and voted in politicians that were basically decent and honest but somehow, we’ve ended up being represented by a pack of supercilious, self-agrandising quislings that are trying to disenfranchise 17+ million voters at the expense of democracy and the cost of hard fought for universal suffrage – the only place where all men are equal regardless of race, creed, colour, religion or financial means is at the ballot box, one man, one vote! That very notion is in process of being destroyed as we speak and i am disgusted with the lot of them! Emily Pankhurst and all of the other suffragettes must be spinning like turbo’s!

Oh and just for the record, i do view every last remainer MP that is trying to overturn the result as traitors not just to the UK but to us as the individuals that put them in that place.

                                                I’m thoroughly sickened!
