Ouch!
in one way ouch is correct because it means that people who may to to change their motability car this year have less choice but, more electric cars and therefore less petrol ones is great environmentally.

May 1, 2022 at 1:45 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #183866I did make a list to justify if the extra 500AP was worth it, however it is the lack of info which is the most infuriating. My dealer tells me despite the delay Hyundai are better than most manufacturers regarding delivery times, however I think that is no longer the case, with a roughly 8/9 month wait for the Kona.
I’ve hear of people ordering the VW I.D 3 in August 2021 won’t be getting their car until q1 2023. I know that any orders for the suv type cars from Kia/Hyundai are now averaging 10-11 months from date of order.

Driver’s Seat Electric Adjustments
Front Passenger’s Seat Electric Adjustments
Front Seats Ventilated
Head Up Display (HUD)
So it’s only a few more chips.

April 29, 2022 at 1:53 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #183670Good early morning to you all I cannot sleep, not just because of my condition,(illness) but with excitement. We are picking our car up in 11 hours. It’s been a long waits but worth it. But I really have to repeat, I cannot fault my Dealership. They have been brilliant. I’ll let you know over the weekend how we are getting on with new Kona EV Ultimate.
Hello to a fellow member of rubbish sleep pattern club. I am excited for you to finally get your car. I must wait until mid June for my handover date. Whereabouts is your dealer? I think we should have a thread naming good and bad dealers so we can all help each other. Happy delivery day. ?

April 28, 2022 at 8:50 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #183639Yes after the excitement of getting our cars maybe we need to continue a group about sharing ways of getting the best out of them – I suppose it is because there have been so many posts on this subject – but you start to have some understanding and empathy towards the same characters contributing to this group – during lock down I had zoom calls with a pain clinic group – never beats face to face, but a relationship do form – some of us may miss the WHERE IS MY CAR ??
I think a continued group sounds like a great idea. I know where my car is now (hyundai’s secure compound in Cumbernauld) I just have to wait until June for handover date ????

April 28, 2022 at 5:26 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #183605Supply team probably got sick and tired of constant requests, therefore decided to streamline the system between dealer and supply. In all fairness I was bemused at the time of my Tuscon order at how apparent the lack of information the dealer and supply was, as if they were totally two different companies. Ideally in the real world one would expect to get the correct updates from the dealer it was purchased from. As it should be really ?
My dealer was telling me today that he personally has 300 orders active at the moment and just trying to stay on top of all the requests for updates was taking up most of his day. Some salesmen and dealerships are better than others even within the same group ( Arnold Clark) and manufacturer at keeping us informed. I feel sorry for folk being treated like mushrooms.

April 18, 2022 at 5:39 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #182949My dealer has always been vague but said his systems indicated delivery in June, from almost the time I ordered the car, and, like others, I was told the car was built in Feb/March. From the general reports we are getting from other users, it seems that virtually all manufacturer’s lead times have increased since the start of the year to the extent that 6 months is now considered quick!
There’s a person I know who’s going to be waiting until mid 2023 for their VW ID.3 which is due for a face-lift between now and then. I’m relatively luck, I ordered middle of Jan 22 and I’ll get my car in June.

April 16, 2022 at 6:38 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #182841Issue for Motability with Chinese cars are the unknown residuals in 3 years.
Quite. The build quality of anything coming from China is atrocious. They will be cheap for a reason.
I have 2 drills, a Bosch, 35 years old, still works as new and a “Chinese” one which has given up after 3 years.
- 3 years is pretty good going for anything made in China Fwippers ?
Not to start or continue the China bashing but I’m friendly with my local MOT place and the number of MG vehicles failing their first test is shocking and most of the issues are corrosion of quite important suspension components.

April 4, 2022 at 4:32 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #181813@Tillyman, I was fortunate enough to see one in a showroom briefly about 2 months before I ordered mine and it struck me as a very unusual colour and I knew I had to get it. I will be getting my car on June 11th as that’s my change over day. Here’s a video someone on here sent me that shows off the colour a bit more https://youtu.be/IV3-lvxhBnI

April 4, 2022 at 4:06 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #181807Hi Chris good to hear you will soon be taking delivery of your car – I ordered at the end of October – Ultimate light grey interior and Misty Jungle – I have resigned myself to having to wait until middle of June – anything early I will take as a bonus. I hope you and yours enjoy your car and I will be interested in hearing your thoughts. stay safe – have fun!
I managed to get this sample of the colour to properly show the green sparkle this colour has. According to my dealer none of his other orders are this colour so we’ll ha e quite a rare car it seems

April 4, 2022 at 11:59 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #181773My order is from January too, also Premium. The estimated collection date is down as April, but I lost hope on expecting it this month as I assumed the dealership would update me once the car was in UK, can I ask when your dealer let you know? Completely out of my hands, but can’t help wondering.
Hi, my car was ordered in Glasgow. I can’t hurt to ring the dealer just for an update. The only reason I know about my car is that I’m in getting my current car it’s 1st MOT and I saw my salesman.

April 4, 2022 at 11:21 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #181770Update for people from my dealer. My car was ordered in January and as of 31/3 my Jungle green premium spec car had arrived at the docks in the UK. He was saying that Hyundai were building Kona’s in batches of 50 of each spec and waiting for large numbers of that spec and then shipping as many of them together into the UK. So if you’re waiting a while that might be why. He also said that if someone were to order a Kona today it’s going to take approximately 8 months for delivery and handover. If anyone needs any more info feel free to ask as there was more I was told but it’s too long to list everything here.

“Technically, if you want the most longevity out of your pack, you shouldn’t charge to 100% but stop at 80%-85%. That’s where the battery wants to be. After that, you’re putting strain on the pack.
So I was reading about the Kona and I’m not sure if other cars do this but, basically the Kona technically has a 67.5kwh battery but only makes use of 64kw to basically protect the battery pack. It equates to 94.8% of the available size but from what I’m reading should provide some extra longevity to the overall pack.

This will be my first exchange and although my dog travels in the car it’s had monthly deep cleans and valets. It will be completely spotless on handover as I’ll take it straight from the hand wash place to the dealership. My car is a luxury and it’s been well looked after during my 3 years with it.

March 16, 2022 at 12:19 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #180176what I don’t know is if these options were only available with the ultimate spec. I hope this has answered your question and maybe some that you didn’t ask!
I ordered my car under very similar conditions to what you describe but with Arnold Clark Hyundai Glasgow in mid January with my official order date being 5 days ago(March 11th). At that time I could order misty jungle and it was confirmed again on the 11th so I know for sure the colour is still available but as I’d gone foe the Premium spec I didn’t get a choice of interior colour.

Yeah I’m getting excited already. I can’t wait to see my somewhat unusual colour choice in the flesh. I saw one at a dealership for 5 minutes and its stuck with me ever since.

March 11, 2022 at 6:46 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #179844Hello all, I ordered my car January 6th and have been sent this by my dealer. My lease isn’t scheduled to finish until mid June and my dealer has said they’ll amend my delivery date or keep it at the showroom if needed but, my car has definitely been built and I can’t wait to pick it up.

@xz130 – Out of interest, my extension happened a couple of weeks ago and I recently received paperwork to that effect. I think insurance was one of the bits of paper. You like the Harrier then?
Yeah I love the harrier, Xz130 was given to my air cadet squadron many years ago and I also got to see her get refurbished by Jetart aviation before being sold in a flight ready condition to the states.
