Says it all really and all the while they’re making huge profits right now from cars that are returned.

I guess they don’t want us to be making anything from it either, as we could buy the cars and then sell the cars and make some money. We know how much they paid for the car initially and pretty much right now many lower mileage cars even after 3 years i would say they at least getting back what they paid for them right now.

Recently my brother drove his car into london 5 days a week for a year and sold it for what he paid for it, as he got a work van now and is on call rather than on site’s.

Kinda sickning and part of me morally is so happy I left the scheme.

Glad to hear your mom’s on the mend.

If they are, but i doubt they are, more likely it’s a commercial decision not to do so as who’d want their advert on the back of the queens death. Many of these companies are so woke they don’t want to offend anyone.

We record most stuff and then watch it and fwd the ad’s. Well the mrs doe’s and it’s been messing up her recordings.

If they was it will pale in comparison, with the money they give away in weapons to prolong a war,imo all to blame the cost of living crisis on and the great reset coming. Plus all the covid money they gave away and now the money to keep bills down all pumping up the debt soon we will hit 3 trillion.

Seems as always people worry about the peanuts and don’t care about the real tree that’s being shaken. Serco now running our 3 local leasure centre’s on a 10 year contract.

Nothing will beat the scheme on price due to the fact they not paying vat, for example on a 25k car thats 5k making the car 30k off the scheme.

When you compare two different cars an astra and a cla, imo it don’t give you a fair comparison, I do get the cla is not currently on the scheme and is the car your looking at. So it’s not as if you can compare it like for like, but comparing it with an astra would give you a better comparison.

A few other things to consider are you can get the used car now with no wait and after 3 years it will have some residual value, where as a scheme car will not. Only mbo will make anything from it at the end of the lease and you might get the car you want and suits your needs over one that doesn’t as choice on the scheme is rather limited.

I am not anti scheme just trying to be informative.

Personally I’m paying around £120 a month more than my alowance but if you add the last ap I paid it would be less, largest i paid was £1600 so was around another £44.44 a month over the allowance.

I did opt to go for a new car as then i get a 3 year warranty, but after I’ve paid off the car it should be worth around 40 or 50% of it’s original value. That isn’t the case with getting a car on the scheme. Even if it’s lower than that 1/3, It still should be part of the overall calculation imo.

I actually got a 0% hp deal, which really did make a huge difference on the figure’s and the car arrived in 4 weeks.

If I keep this new car for at least 5 years at £25k 5(£64.50 (pip) x 52)= £16,770 plus add the min i think it could be worth (1/3) after 5 years £8333 is £25,103

Also pip will increase yearly so that’s another added bonus not in the calculations.  Also if it’s worth more like the 10k/12.5k as predicated, that more than covers insurance and servcing etc. So really the extra i am paying i have in the car at the end and Imo is not really costing me more than on the scheme, although i am paying more.

If i keep it for longer or sell it that’s when it will pay me back over the scheme and for me that works as my millage is less than half of what it was. If you do high millage the scheme is great as it offer’s 20k mileage a year.

One thing the scheme gives you is piece of mind but right now for me it works leaving the scheme and not having to worry about what car next in 3 years and how much ap it will be or if what i need is available, as we move towards 2030 and not having offroad parking. Who knows what will happen, it’s an unknown factor that off the scheme i have control over also.

            https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1437145/how-much-money-does-the-royal-family-bring-in-to-uk-evg

According to Forbes Magazine, the House of Windsor is estimated to be worth £19 billion ($28 billion) and pumps hundreds of millions of pounds into Britain’s economy every year.

According to a financial expert, it is the 1,000-year-old Firm’s public perception and influence that makes it so valuable.

Chief executive of Brand Finance David Haigh told Forbes: “It is a very formalized influencer business.”

Mr Haigh explained that unlike a celebrity family such as the Kardashians, the Windsors don’t personally profit from the business itself.

However, they contributed an estimated £1.9 billion ($2.7 billion) annually to Britain’s economy pre-pandemic.

Hyperinflation can occur in circumstances affecting the underlying production economy, in conjunction with a central bank printing excessive money. Hyperinflation can cause a surge in prices for essential goods—such as food and fuel—as demand outpaces supply.

Right now I think the supply is being artificially restricted and alot is via manipulation of the markets to meet net zero targets and push the green agenda.

Animal and dairy products are next on their target list and prices are going to get really crazy soon, all to discourage us from eating or using meat products.

Plus also product sizes have decreased to level’s you cannot really make any smaller, to hide the inflation via shrinkflation.

The central banks print more and more fiat and just raise the debt ceiling to a higher level at some point, it’s going to fall very quickly and a new monetary system will be needed. Which they already pushing. Cashless society and a digital social credit scoring system. Via which they will be able to restrict our consumptions and movements all in the name of saving the planet and us from ourselves.

Royal mourning will be observed by members of the Royal Family, those who work in the Royal Household, representatives on official duties and troops who carry out ceremonial duties.

Throughout this period, royal residences will close until after the Queen’s funeral. These include the Queen’s Gallery, the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace and the Queen’s Gallery in Edinburgh. Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House will also be closed, along with Hillsborough Castle – the Queen’s official residence in Northern Ireland.

Flags at royal residences will remain at half-mast until 8am on the morning after the last day of royal mourning.

I understand the retail suppliers profit is capped at 1.9%. The ones making enormous profit just now are the suppliers of renewables who sell their electricity to the market at the same price as electricity generated by gas.

Indeed, So there is scope for market reform as the new p.m has suggested they’ll look into it. They’ve had it to good for to long and yes it creates money to invest in more alternative renewables but now gas has risen so much and imo won’t really come down anytime soon. The time has come to break that tie to the price of gas and it should make it a more viable option than ever.

Hi RXT, As wmc said it really does vary as to whether the scheme is a viable option for you, Sometimes it even more than just crunching the figures. Whatever car it’s gotta be sutable for your daily needs. Glad to hear your fight is finally over to get the help you need. Must of been a shock after 2 years looking at cars on the scheme.

I recently left the scheme. As for me, it just wasn’t as viable an option as it once was and I have been on the scheme for 11 years and had 4 different cars. All very different as our family needs changed over the years and so did my condition. Many of which are no longer on the scheme or the ap are just not justifiable to lease a car.

Some reasons are the mileage we doing is well down on what it used to be and I plan to keep the car I have bought for longer than I would on the scheme. As i do think keeping a car for longer is better for the planet, than getting a new one every 3 years and if you extend for 5 years your paying the same in allowance.

The ap’s on many cars are higher than ever and the choice’s are very limited and I don’t know if I could of waited a long wait time to get a different car as my wife mobility is also an issue now. So the car we had was a big issue now for her, personally I loved it but sometimes, you got to do what’s right for you and all your needs and for many the scheme is just not offering what it was.

Even ev’s are not for everyone as unless you have off-road parking charging is a big issue and the added cost of it over charging at home. Does seem many ev’s have the longest waits also.

I guess it’s really a tuff one if it works for you then all is good but for many for a multitude of reasons it just isn’t and have left or plan to leave when their current lease expires.

The rate of self-discharge is also heavily dependent on temperature. The hotter a given battery is, the quicker it will self-discharge. Most lithium-ion batteries have a self-discharge rate of between 5 and 10% per month. This means that a fully charged battery will lose between 5 and 10% of its charge per month.

Again just like with the fuel crisis the supplier’s of energy to us make the least profit from it all. It seems, they though are the one’s targeted as making the huge profits and ripping us all off. £63 is less than 2% of the average annual cost of £3,549

Where as the goverment and those controlling the markets are making more from it all than ever and will do moving forward. Increased cost’s lead to more profits that’s how percentage margin’s work and leads to us all having less disposable income, as wages or allowance’s never rise at the same rate.

Problem with fracking in uk is that mostly it won’t be used to provide heat or energy but to make more polymers and watch when it messes up our water table, like in the usa.

Farage used to be a banker, so I just don’t know if i fully trust him seems he pops up then disappears over and over and he deffo distanced himself from groom gangs and ukip once they started to highlight the issue.

China’s been pushing the silk road and buying assets across the world, although that might stop due to santions as who would invest in the west when you could just lose it all, when they say your a friend of the leader or state sponsered. They don’t like or don’t play the game as they say and use the dollar. Meanwhile those in real power back both sides east and west and whoever wins out they still have control.

Geopolitics is a very complex issue and i would suggest people take an interest as it gives you the bigger picture as to what’s really going on and how we all be played.

Lets not also forget the world leaders listening to greta and ER and they stopped looking for new sources of fossil fuels. Put polilices in place that made it a bad investment. Which are very much needed to make the switch over to green sustainable energy, if there even is such a thing. It was always going to end this way, with shortages and huge rises and as wigweam says it’s been happening slowly for many years.

Seems right now they distancing themselves from her and the policy they adopted, as look where it’s got us and them up the creek without a paddle and no way out of the problem.

Hope we don’t have blackouts this winter, if we do, having an ev may mean your not able to be mobile if you cannot charge it and many won’t be able to heat there homes as their gas combi boilers don’t work without electricity. The price cap only effects single users not buisnesses so we going to see many struggle and fold or the prices they operate at will have to rise hugely, as will the cost of many alternative energy sources and making cars. Some have seen bills rise over 300% as they not protected by the cap as are those with block energy in high rise flats or estate’s. Meanwhile they prolong the war and never once have i heard them push for peace and again it’s not a new issue. Many are benfiting hugley from it, while we the people suffer.

The price of sanctions will be the death of many outside Ukraine and benefit china and they will become the new superpoweras the wef predicts will happen by 2030 and as per usual it seems their solution aways adds to the peoples misery and that’s the way they want it and is imo their justification and reasons for instigating the situtaion to maximise profits and the control over the people and blame someone else for it all. When all their action do is cause more instability than the actual war or crisis, but it gives them the excuse to regulate and push the agenda forward and control us all further, They all in it together.

The one big thing I forgot to mention they never get blame for it all, someone else does or it’s all our own faults, when all we did was follow them and the world they setout and created. Like plastic and the throw away culture, now thats bad, diesel was better but now it’s not. On and on I could go but they social engineer us all and like in this picture.

I am Not surprised one bit, I have said this was going to happen and other stuff and been called a conspiracy theorist, but to me and other’s it’s logical and all part of the agenda and it seems to become reality very quickly nowadays and they are not shy about being open about it anymore. Whatever they say it is, it’s not what we being told it is, we are told it’s for our own good or of others or the planet, but it’s to make us weaker and enslave us to them and pay of the debts they create and keep control of the rudder of the direction they take us.

It’s always been that way, why is it any different now just as they say it is and it’s democracy. The few still control the narrative of the many, always have and always will. Many just fail to see it and those that do and fight against it, get chewed up and spat out by the system even countries. Or we are called names to shut down the discussion and the new one’s are that’s misinformation or your a denier. You cannot even debate the matter with these people, they then want you cancelled if you speakout and silenced for daring to differ and suggest alternatives and question their narrative, which manily now is being forced upon us and not my natural progression and often my market forces. Like vegans for example, we the masses all gonna be forced to be vegan’s rather than it being a matter of your choice.

The elite will be able to still afford it, pretty much like they’ll still fly in their private jets preaching but not practicing what they preach. Bill gates and others has invested to much in land and lab grown meat for it not to be still eaten by the elite.

The UN wants alcohol banned also and this was also seen during covid. They will make it more and more expensive rather than ban it, but in new zealand they taking an approach to stop smoking were those born now will never be allowed to smoke. It won’t work as like in scotland, NZ has a huge illegal drugs problem. But then what’s targeted next, as they know what’s best for us all and then comes the other reason’s to validate it all, myself and many others support this action. Like how many of the people exactly support it and who did you actual target in you poll. Problem is we gave that inch and now they taking the biscuit. They’ll still be eating steak while we’re eating bugs as thats another plan of theirs as the footprint would be lower.

Regardless of views on meat or smoking etc, it’s should be a persons free choice and that freedoom is being eroded away and thats the agenda’s goal. People need to wake-up and see it before it’s to late, it might be already to late.

The wef and the elite are one part of it and recently what they been releasing is truely shocking from global farming, to plans for basically no personal car ownership and us all sharing. It not just them but a whole spidersweb and the banks will be happy when many default on their morgages and then repo their homes.

The great reset is coming and the new normal is here to stay, 1st you must destroy to build back better, 1st you must weaken the defences before the full on assault.

You will own nothing and be happy. How will they make that happen is the big question not if it will or not happen. Create or instigate some crisis so they then can offer the solutions and give goverments more powers to regulate us which is really by controlling us.

If they control the supply of food and energy they have ulitmate control. The same people we trust in by backing their cabal’s are the same people who weaponise everything and have killed many without a care in the world, just they do it with a smile from a far and is for the greater good, somehow they benefit from our misery over and over, generation after generation.

A goverment’s job is to implement the policy from above. I first understood this when in parliament a question was asked. What is the goverment doing to implement UN policies and meet the targets setout.

Plus the 4th industrial revolution is coming with ai and big tech controlling and monitoring us all to stop us rising up against the tyranny. What then when AI & robots take over many jobs like driving, cleaning, pretty much all the working class jobs or even more skilled jobs if it can be done by ai or a machine and technology over a person. Are we not going to overseeing our own demise like many civilisations in the past.

How will you heat your home and feed yourself never mind you kids.

It always happens later down the road slowly slowly they rollout the plan and restricting availability is one way to stop usage as it increase’s the price.

In N.I they talking about having to cull cattle to meet green targets and that will be next to happen all over and whats happening in the Netherlands with the farmers is a disgrace and hardly no media coverage of it, just like with the yellow vests in france but covid shut themdown.

The wef have said they will buy up all the dutch farmers land for their global industrial farming plan.

Also the stuff they teaching in schools is condition and scaring the kids into disciples of their cult, who many think the world is going to end and what when their parents cannot afford to heat their home and feed and clothe them and definitely will not be able to take them on holidays and the state will then say we can do a better job of raising your children than you.

It started long ago when both parents went out to work, parents are just not about for their kids and palm them off to daycare and now we going to see them both having to work every hour under the sun just to provide the basics and many won’t be able to even do that.

They said not so long ago about leveling up, only that’s really going to work by levelling us all down to that of the Third World and the dollar, euro and gbp will hit parity and then their’s no reason not to have one currency and a new system will replace the one we have now.

Its overdue as any monetary system only lasts for so long and every policy they seem to put in place seems to have a negative effect on the economy and us the people.

The company I went with in the end is called privilege. They was almost £200 a year cheaper. They also had an option to click for gcb gained from the mobility scheme, with a few others i had to ring them and ask if they accepted and all said they did.

I did pay for the whole year as it’s always the cheapest option and it worked out at £22.76 a month and included a hire car and for me as it’s a new car I’ve bought, if it was to get written off it would be replaced with a new one in the 1st year. So no gap insurance is needed. if something was to happen.

Pretty much on all I looked at you have to pay more to get a like for like hire car. Personally i’ve had one claim in my whole 30+ years of driving as my car was stolen. So i don’t see the point in paying extra I’d make do with the standard hire car for 21/28 days.

Just left the scheme myself in june, Directline was alot more money, as was adamiral or lv, than a few of the quotes I had via a comparison site (all like for like) one of which we already have home insurance with and got a discount for that also, so went with them. Definitely worth shopping around.

They also accepted the letter i got from rsa (which you get after you leave the scheme) infact all i ones i did contact said they accepted the rsa letter as proof of ncb.

When the policy came threw, as i wanted physical documents, it said my claims history had been checked and verified and no proof was needed to be sent to them.

I had been on the scheme for 11+ years but the claim history only goes back 9 years.

As macca says if you can list both do so, if you cannot best to call them, I did as for some reason my private plate was not coming back, but it was a new car, I bought so i had to call them and i actually then paid less than the online quote even though i gave them the ref number of the quote over the phone.

Only problem i can maybe see you having is if you was not the main driver or holder of any policy, over the last 9 years.

                                          26 August 2021 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-58330796

The most well known case.Guess if she didn’t work for the bbc no one would of reported on it.

Pretty much like our mother had 1st jab 2 weeks later was in hospital with blood clots on her lungs and died soon after, she never had covid infact she had been shielding due to her age and we wasn’t even able to go and see her, neither were her gran kids for a whole year. all for what? Plus there’s many others out there not recorded as there death was from vaccine side effects. explain all these excess deaths? medics call figures terrifying. what else can it be?

Also many are suffering heart issues, many are fit sports persons. How many doses do you need is another  and many who died from covid actually had underling conditions just they tested positive within 28 days of dieing and many of those actually caught covid in hospital, after they had been admitted or was in a care home. It’s sad some people could get any secondary infection and die if their underlying condition is a risk factor not just from covid.

I know 2 people who died of cancer as their treatments was cancelled and one of them was recorded, which i know is a fact from their family as from covid. I know of wuite a few others who didn’t even get diagnosed and by the time they did it was to late.

It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it for you. but do not ignore the facts it’s still not licensed and neither is this new multi one. That will be somes 5th jab in just over 2 years it’s no vaccine imo it’s a therapy. You keep telling your self it’s safe and effective. can you really trust the pharma companies.

So yeah lets all dismiss the real facts that starting to now come out, big pharma only cares about making money. The fines are always smaller than the profits.

lookup the fines they had since 2000 say and what the fines was for and that don’t even include cases they settled on. why not now? they off the hook anyways the goverment is on the hook and pretty much like reports they don’t release, what’s to stop them on these issues as they are the one’s liable.

Long covid was also about well before cov19 just it was called something else and infact one of my conditions in my bones was brought on after having a bad stomach bug and i still have it 18 years later. It took me months and months to get over the fatigue also after being sick for almost 2 weeks.

Mp’s act like it was no issue at all and the guy who did the modeling that lockdown was based on cheated on his wife with his lover breaking the rules we was all under. So many instances where they got mask on they not got masks on but for pics they got masks on again. I hope i am wrong but slowly, slowy the truth seems to be coming out and one thing the cost of living crisis is really the cost of lockdown crisis.

Totally steve in the current market used car values have risen, what I said is the normal situation. the huge profits they making right now is another issue altogether.

My brother bought a car drove it into london from essex 5 /6 days a week for a year and got back what he paid for it recently as his company now given him a van.

I do feel for you and yeah maybe an estate would be an option for the size but for some they need a higher vehicle to get in and out of.

The VAUXHALL ASTRA SPORTS TOURER boot space is 597 litres for some that need a lot of space for scooters etc then i think thats right up there and cheapest auto is £949 plus you will get £250 for getting a new car one time offer.

For a bit more there are a few other options with larger boot space. HYUNDAI TUCSON ESTATE is 620 litres but its a manual. I cannot do manuals and maybe you could ask for a grant towards getting an automatic. That all depends on your circumstances. but if you don’t ask you won’t get.

Surly if you order something on the scheme mb will provide you a hire car till the new one arrives.

Often when selecting something on the scheme I have had to make hard choices due to price and I will not pay high ap’s to lease a car as for me it’s just not viable. higest i have paid was £1599 but i did get £200 from dealer and that was a one off, normally before they’d been no more than £750 for a seven seater as we was a large family of 5, 6 when my mum came to stay.

All our needs are different and sometime a trade off has to be made to get what you really need over what you don’t for me that’s adaptive cruise control and a comfortable seat. getting in and out of any car causes me pain to some degree and the truth is for me anyway driving it is where i spend most of my time as the only driver and using acc has really made a huge difference on any med to long journey.

What i would say is go and have alook at all the options and sit in them, they might not have the exact model trim to test but often some different cars they have even used ones have the same seats and i try those to see if the actual seat i will be getting is suitable.

As something that can carry the load you need is high on your needs if a acar is livable with, it’s imo better than nothing at all. such a tuff situation sometimes and many have gone in the way of estates right now from suvs, as what good is going out if you cannot fit what you need in the car.

Yep I know more who have died as a result of lockdowns and the side effects of the so called vaccine and none who have died form covid. It’s funny how misinfomation becomes reality very quickly thesedays.

One upon a time heart attacks, pneumonia etc was the top causes of death now it seems unknown causes are top of the lists also and suicide alot are gonna die i think this winter from freezing to death or feeling they cannot cope and have failed. The cost of living crisis is bs it’s the cost of lockdown crisis.

@struth Blaenau Ffestiniog is a nice place if you can ever take the grandkids. Apart from the hydropower station there is the slatemines and a zipline. Llandudno is great to visit. Snowdonia has the largest hydropower which as you say would be interesting to see. Apart from all the other atractions it is also home to velocity 2 the worlds fastest zip line 100mph but we will say no more on that lol

I been down inside the hydro electric power station at Llanberis many years ago now with my dad as he company had skips down there. you hardly know it’s there as well.

Amazing driving down and down and down. What amazes me is how it’s only mainly used at peak times as it can be turned off and on quick unlike other methods of electricity creation. Also energy created is used to pump the water back to the top as well. I uesd to live in bangor as a kid my mum was in charge of all the food at the University and we actually lived on site.

All in my case, MB wanted the car back after 3 months in the garage because of the random electrical problems. I would have liked to have kept the car, if the could guarantee that the problems were resolved. I am 6 months from the end of my lease and don’t see why I should be penalised due to problems outside of my control

I guess you won’t like the reasons but in the 1st 3 years is where the car loses most of it’s value and is why they offer 3 year min leases as then the payments we make cover the depreciation over that period and ending the lease early, for whatever reason, I guess they have not had all those payments and do not offer the full gcb if 3 years is not reached. Sadly the moment we drive a car away, it’s worth less than the otr price as it has now one owner and is why exdemo cars, sometimes can be great deals to buy privately but you will be the 2nd owner, not the 1st and motabilty buy the car outright at the start of the lease.

I was looking at a article the other day other the worst deprecating suvs the other day and some lost over 40% after 3 years.

I guess the problems are outside of mb’s control also as well as yours and I think in the situation they trying to resolve the situation of you not having the car the best way they can after you’ve not had the car for 3 months and the manufacturer cannot fix it to your satisfaction, so you have faith in it. I totally get it’s not your fault neither though is it Mb’s imo.

                                                  There policies are pretty clear.

I handed my car back 2 weeks before 2 years of the lease was up, as the new car was ready and i knew I’d get £250 not £400 it is what it is.. That’s the policy they have and should they change it just for one unfortunate situation like your’s, is another question imo, it would have to be a policy change for all, not just for a one off occasion.

I know it was my choice and your’s was forced upon you but at least they’ve allowed you to change it and probally not charged you, in doing so either.

I had to pay a termination fee, to cancel early, albeit they reduced it to £50 for being on the scheme 11 years and having never cancelled or changed a car before. If I’d been charged the full £250, I would of accepted it as it was their policy, and if i was to rejoin the scheme and did it again I would be charged the full amount.

I am guessing you’ve got the new car now or have you ordered one and are waiting for it to arrive and driving a hire/loan car, which mb could be footing the bill for as well i guess or was the dealer providing a car, for however long they have or had been. The situation needed to be resolved somehow.

Which is another thing to consider as a good thing as i know you’ve had issues with the car for a while on and off. I am trying to look at the positives for you as that’s what i do. I’m not even a scheme user anymore but I do see many positives still of when you are on the scheme even in the current climate and I think looking at the postives of this situation is best.

Yep you didn’t get the full gcb you got 2 years worth and any ap back you did pay for the 6 months remaining on the lease.

How can it be the case that you get the 6 months ap back and 3 years full gcb, if you get the 3 years gcb you won’t get any pro rata ap back. That’s something I wouldn’t like them to change or think they should.

Unless you get a zero ap car you gonna lose out on what you have actually paid towards the car, not the gesture of good will they offer for handing a car back in good condition and with the higher and higher ap’s of currnet cars thats a big issue moving forward and in most cases might be more than the 1 years loss of ap.

unfortunately rox, some cant work or like me only part time and just exceed the tax credit threshhold etc so are v unlikely to qualify for hp or a loan. so the only alternative to the scheme is a cheap runabout 2nd hand that we have to have the cash for, a vicious circle. thats what i am going to have to do i think extend for 2 years with the aim to save enough to buy a 2nd hand suv. which may suit as it prob wouldnt have all this touch feely screen crap and robot drivers interfering, ma even have knobs and buttons lol.

I have not worked since 2004 and got finance on the basis of my income alone, from the contribution based esa and the pip allowance I recieve and my excellent credit rating, which i have built up since having to stop working with 0% loans 1st with an argos card and then with 2 / 0% purchase credit cards and a samsung mobile phone on 0% also.

The car i got was almost 25k I put down 2.5k and is also on 0% via the manufacturers own finance my bank wanted a silly apr amount for a loan which i was considering to get a used car it was advertised from 2.7% and most manufacturers offers was lower than what the banks offered. The 0% was a huge factor in me getting the car i did and making the move when i did. Now it’s 6.8% but they give you 2k towards it.

When looking the new car wasn’t that much more than one a few years old once you added the interest, So it can be done, even if on a low income, really it depends on your disposable income and I don’t really have a lot of out goings.

I get it won’t work for some, but it is an option worth looking at. also like you I want to future proof myself against many things i don’t like about the way cars are going and also I need an automatic and worry about used ones more than i would with a manual.

Best thing about sports mode or manual mode on some auto’s with the paddles is that when you do floor it, it changes up for you before you blow the engine up and you ain’t gotta touch the paddles at all it will also downshift if revs get to low.

I used to love holding it in m3 in my honda civic sport and then flooring it and the vtec would come in also Hardly ever did it in D. Was an omg and a big smile everytime.
