You have now baffled me too as I have just gone and checked again, there is no air or vibration coming out of the middle front dashboard speaker which seems to sugget it is only a dummy as the other speakers on the side door are producing air and vibration out of them which leads me to believe they are in use. Maybe as someone else has suggested you just got lucky and been given the hifi speaker system added as a mistake. But I am 95% sure it is only 6 speakers due to no sound or air or vibration coming out of the middle dashboard speaker as if it was hifi it would have showed some signs which it aint.
I can confirm that the i4 Msport pro pack has the base 6 speaker system, the front speaker in the middle dashboard has no sound coming out of it and is only there for visual reasons to keep them all looking aesthetically the same. I must say the base system does lack sound overall and I am disappointed to say the least and regret not upgrading to the HK system. Several dealerships and BMW genius have all confirmed the base 6 speaker system which I will go with and also my own experience with it. I hope this helps and answers everyones questions. Side not I have owned the vehcile for nearly 2 months now also.
This is it guys the wait if finally over, tomorrow is the day of reckoning and picking up my i4. I would be lying if I said I’m not excited. Glad to hear everyone got thier collection dates sorted for March and getting the 24 plate.. Bit of a push and shove here usually gets the job done when your persistent. Just goes to show that it was possible to collect in March all along and the dealers were playing games. Disappointing to say the least..
I agree with the rest, those dealers are being difficult for no reason. My dealer changed my model to Msport in less than a week and changed it on the motability account. My i4 arrived in storage last week and I also requested that I get a March collection date to register it as a 24 plate which they were happy to do and had no issues with it. Crazy how the other dealerships are behaving it’s sad to see which is not a good look for BMW to be honest.
One thing I’m not looking forward for though is that weak 6 speaker system with 100w amp. Wish I forked out the extra £900 for the HK system as I heard the base model speaker sysyem is total pants! Kind of regretting it now as the 10 speaker Hi-fi which I thought it had would of been okay at least!
I’m due to pick mine up on 1st March, I’ve locked it in with the dealership. I told them to make sure it is registered as 24 plate which is the day of pick up!
The BMW i4 does not come with 10 speakers on base model or Msport/Msport pro pack.
2 seperate dealerships have confirmed this and BMW genius also that it is a 6 speaker setup with 100w.
In the USA market it is 10 speaker Hi-Fi system on base model, but the European market comes with 6 as standard.
The front tweeter and speaker on the dashboard is just a dummy with no real use other than keeping the same aesthetic as all models.
Call your dealership and ask them to make sure they are giving you the correct information and not just google search which is what they are most likely doing, I would ask then to confirm with the dealership manager and enquire with BMW directly.
I had the same question also as I went with the Msport pro pack and have enquired directly with BMW genuis on this matter.
They confirmed to me that it comes with this audio system as standard on the BMW i4 in the UK.
Stereo speaker system with 6 loudspeakers:
– 2 midrange speakers in the front door trims
– 2 central bass speakers underneath the front seats
– 2 midrange speakers in the rear door trim
– 100 W system power
DAB Tuner.It’s a bummer as I was under the impression that it can with the 10 speaker hi-fi system and not the standard 6 speaker above.
My status code is now on 152 and is in production so it is too late for me to upgrade to the HK system which in hindsight seems like a much better upgrade and worth the £900 extra.
Not expecting much from the standard system to be honest and really regret not upgrading to the HK system when I had a chance!
I decided to go for the pro pack aswell just makes the car look much more meaner and nicer imo!
Now I’m debating wether to add HK system with that but will bring the AP up another £900 which not sure is worth it as the car is not owned andnwill be going back after a few years, don’t mind payin a little more for Msport though..
Has anyone added the stock privacy windows for extra £250?
I have added them but thinking to remove it and get it done myself at 5% as the bmw stock ones are around 20% and only on back sides and rear, 20% which is a bit too light for me i prefer it blacked out to go with the all black color code, whats your guys thoughts on the stock pricacy windows?
To everyones dismay who had ordered early and thier car is on the waiting list to be produced. I have some bad news. BMW have officially made the BMW i4 Msport version available now to motability users and have also added the new BMW 3 series to the range. My car is due to be built next month for delivery in March. I am now considering to cancel the order and go with the Msport version is what I wanted in the first place but was not available at the time. I will aslo try contact my dealer and see if it is possible to amend the order and go with the Msport instead of cancelling and waiting nearly another year for the whole order to be processed again.
Please, everyone, share your thoughts on this matter as I am really disappointed with BMW doing this last minute.
