After 9 months of loving the Ioniq 5 it has happened again. Most likely ICCU failure. Sounded like a stone on the underside of the car (blown fuse). We will see how long it takes this time…Currently driving a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Line S
From the point of diagnosis it was about three weeks and all appears to be ok since touch wood 🪵

So, to give an update – I am pleased to say that the car has had a new ICCU fitted and all is well with the car. I have now done 3000 miles in the car and love it. The head up display is very useful it is very quiet, handles well and is very practical. The ICCU does appear to be a common problem across the EGMP platform.

The dealer has confirmed that a faulty ICCU is indeed the culprit and booked for repair at the beginning of May. Very poor for a car that is literally brand new. Apart from not being able to AC charge the car is absolutely fantastic.

April 4, 2025 at 12:43 pm in reply to: wheelchair reccomendations needed manual or powered must be lightweight #303950I have a Lithtech Smart Chair 1 which I have had for a year or so and I am very happy. Looking at their website I can see that they have released some new models but I am very happy. They are on the pricier end £1750- £2500 but have been reliable If you look up the company on Youtube there is an abundance of videos.

February 19, 2025 at 2:03 pm in reply to: Got a Volvo on your shortlist?you may want to cross it off. #298009I am due to hand my XC40 T5 Recharge Inscription Pro at the end of March/ early April. The car itself has generally been reliable apart from needing a small battery replaced. The software on the SENSUS system is a royal pain in the backside. The car preheating is tempramental and all in all leaves me frustrated. It is a real shame because apart from the software the rest is superb. I am sure if you get a Google based infotainment system that replaced the earlier SENSUS it will be better.

Cheers – that’s good to know 🙂

I just ordered one, although haven’t seen the trim in the flesh. The timeframe quoted is June because I added the digital side mirrors. Note if you are looking at the configurator online Gravity Gold Matte is no longer available and the Ultimate Red is metallic and not solid. Matte paint is also chargeable £200 as Motability won’t cover it, but they will for solid metallic and pearl. I ended up going for Red but went in with Gold in my head.

I can order now but I am not in the country until 4th January so will be relying on the next quarter prices – fingers crossed they don’t skyrocket 🤞

My Dad worked as a Motability specialist for several dealers over the years and according to him, Motability customers can choose any colour they like without charge regardless of how expensive it is. His advice was to speak to Motability who could then remind the dealer of this policy.
Unfortunately your dad is wrong! Indeed I had an argument I lost once where Motability would not let me order a car with the cheapest colour available (hard to believe but linked to AP and residual value)
That’s crazy but makes sense when you think about it. You would have thought being a more “premium” paint choice in the case of the Daytona Grey it would make it an easier sale at the end of the lease.

No I didn’t GjA – The salesman said there was a discrepancy so charged me less – suspect this is the saving and not the metallic paint excuse given.

Yeah it was reintroduced briefly in September when I ordered my car ( at least according to the online configurator) Salesman basically said if it is there you can add it – which I did. Not the end of the world that it is missing.

Took delivery of my new car yesterday and am overall very pleased with the car but as feared the BLIS (Blindspot and Crosstraffic) is missing despite being ordered Volvo removed it due to the semiconductor shortage. So 6 months from order to delivery but talking to dealer this is slipping to 8-9 months at present.

So – I have at last taken delivery of my new car the spec almost matched what I ordered but Volvo removed the BLIS (blind spot and cross traffic). Despite me querying it at the time of ordering and repeating the need for the car to match the spec ordered and being told nothing was missing. Slightly annoyed – not so much that it is missing I can live without it; but that the dealer did not own up until I was about to drive off and asked him again. He did admit he was worried that the car would arrive without an electric tailgate. I made it very clear that if that had been the situation I would have rejected the car. I think salesmen often forget that some options are a requirement rather than a luxury.
Apart from that loving the car so far 🙂

Cheers Wigwam, I have read a fair bit of the owners forums and probably watched every Youtube video going lol.
The dealer is John Clark in Edinburgh.
I truly hope Volvo do return to the scheme in the not too distant future but my gut says 2023 before that happens given Semi conductor situation compounded by Ukraine. Now just isn’t the time to be in the market for a new car.

So just to give you an update my car has arrived in the UK, Hand Controls are being fitted tomorrow and I collect on Friday. Credit where credit is due my salesman has been excellent at communicating the whole way through.
Starting to get excited 🙂

Yeah Volvo seem stingy on standard kit on the inscription pro.
I ordered an Inscription Pro t00.
I added
- wireless charging
- android auto
- Tinted Windows
- Polestar Optimisation
- Climate/Winter Pack
- Drivers Assistance Pack
- 360 Camera
- Versitility Pack
- Dashcam
- Mudflaps
It is the driver assistance package that seems to be causing additional delays so the fact that you didn’t opt for this should in theory mean you are ahead of me in the queue.

GJA interesting – I ordered a ton of extras on my car the AP was over 8K. Given the chip shortage I really thought I would be hit hard with the delays. Given the number of options I will need to be thorough to make sure nothing is missing as there are some real horror stories on here regarding missing kit. Although not Volvo to be fair.

It is clear that you have been misled by the dealer to get your business.
As you probably know I ordered an XC40 PHEV mid September the dealer has been excellent on the communication front thus far offering monthly updates that the car is still on schedule for tail end of March. Obviously as we are getting nearer to that time I am getting nervous that it will slip somewhat, but time will tell if my scepticism is warranted or not.

So I ordered my new XC40 T5 Recharge Inscription Pro from John Clark in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
I added the climate pack, drivers assistance pack, versitility pack, wireless charging, android auto, tints polestar optimisation, 360 cameras and dashcam.Given all that the dealer advised that largely due to the drivers assistance BLIS systems the delivery would likely be late Feb or March.
Ordered on my first day i was eligible as I was concerned cars are dropping off the scheme on a daily basis.

Yeah I have one on my current Sportage but as you say it really is only a benefit to those in the back.
Currently driving a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Line S
Good to know, I was looking to add pretty much everything lol (even the polestar optimisation). I think the only option I left off was the glass roof for £1000.
Currently driving a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Line S
I am due to order a car at the end of the month as a wheelchair user an electric tailgate really is a must have!
