Got an update from the dealer still showing a February delivery date. That’s the last three monthly updates showing the same delivery, surely it can’t change at this late date.
The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.
Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol. - CreatorTopic

GJA?
February 20, 2022 at 11:24 am #178074It is clear that you have been misled by the dealer to get your business.
As you probably know I ordered an XC40 PHEV mid September the dealer has been excellent on the communication front thus far offering monthly updates that the car is still on schedule for tail end of March. Obviously as we are getting nearer to that time I am getting nervous that it will slip somewhat, but time will tell if my scepticism is warranted or not.

GJAThat’s interesting rfh103, as I ordered 1st September and have been told between 03/04/2022-17/04/2022.
February 20, 2022 at 11:56 am #178078GJA interesting – I ordered a ton of extras on my car the AP was over 8K. Given the chip shortage I really thought I would be hit hard with the delays. Given the number of options I will need to be thorough to make sure nothing is missing as there are some real horror stories on here regarding missing kit. Although not Volvo to be fair.

GJArhf103, the only extra I added was the wireless charging pad which, for all it is, really ought to be standard. I did consider the package with the 360° camera (I forget which), but given that the reversing camera, which I’ve never had on a car before, is standard on the Inscription Pro and the possibility of further delay, I elected to make do.
February 20, 2022 at 1:01 pm #178092Yeah Volvo seem stingy on standard kit on the inscription pro.
I ordered an Inscription Pro t00.
I added
- wireless charging
- android auto
- Tinted Windows
- Polestar Optimisation
- Climate/Winter Pack
- Drivers Assistance Pack
- 360 Camera
- Versitility Pack
- Dashcam
- Mudflaps
It is the driver assistance package that seems to be causing additional delays so the fact that you didn’t opt for this should in theory mean you are ahead of me in the queue.

March 23, 2022 at 4:21 pm #180750So just to give you an update my car has arrived in the UK, Hand Controls are being fitted tomorrow and I collect on Friday. Credit where credit is due my salesman has been excellent at communicating the whole way through.
Starting to get excited 🙂

March 23, 2022 at 5:11 pm #180753Great news indeed rfh103 and welcome to the exclusive (elusive?) XC40 Recharge club. Have you read all the user manual yet? And why not name your dealer, in the hope the XC40 returns to the scheme?
March 23, 2022 at 5:25 pm #180755Cheers Wigwam, I have read a fair bit of the owners forums and probably watched every Youtube video going lol.
The dealer is John Clark in Edinburgh.
I truly hope Volvo do return to the scheme in the not too distant future but my gut says 2023 before that happens given Semi conductor situation compounded by Ukraine. Now just isn’t the time to be in the market for a new car.

March 26, 2022 at 11:27 am #180946Took delivery of my new car yesterday and am overall very pleased with the car but as feared the BLIS (Blindspot and Crosstraffic) is missing despite being ordered Volvo removed it due to the semiconductor shortage. So 6 months from order to delivery but talking to dealer this is slipping to 8-9 months at present.
