Either RAC 08007311173 to take the car to Kwik Fit or Kwik fit mobile who will come to home and change the tyre.  See which fits your timetable better…..

        Hi

Not sure there is a reasonable time – it is what it is.

Hopefully more helpful:  We currently have a replacement car as ours is in the garage.  We requested and got an electric so it may be worth asking for that.

Also, be aware of the small print.  If it is with Europe Car (I believe the provider is changing) the first month is unlimited mileage but if you have it for more than 28 days there is a mileage limit applied to the whole hire time – may not be an issue for you but it was for us 2 years ago!…. Hence we checked limits this time.

We have had an EV for almost a year.  If you cannot charge at home, an EV will cost you more than petrol or diesel.  The UK has appalling high charges for charging with public chargers compared to France.  There are many excuses given whenever you mention this but there are two companies in the UK… Tesla (avg 55p)and AW energy (39p) …. Who do a reasonable price (still more than the best in France). An added 3p per mile (which will rise) improves nothing.

Slower public chargers can be cheaper but still relatively high…. Possibly slightly less than petrol.

We do not regret our EV – we wouldn’t change back, but we charge at home.

If Electricity companies charge more at home, that may change our view.

An excellent, accurate and clearly heartfelt letter.  Whilst I understand your frustration , I would suggest you simply write the Chancellor, rather than Rachel from Customer Services  – it will just give your MP an excuse to label you and ignore your excellent points.  Your colourful description of those who see you (us) in the car parks is, however, in my view, poetic licence.

Not sure if this helps explain….wont help with the missing footage.  Recently had a similar issue.  I have a 322, a 522 and a 622.  Told by installer of the latest that the dashcam saves what it think are incidents.  This limits availability for new footage over time.  You need to regularly format the card to keep space for new recordings.

Agree with the reply above….unfortunately.  Just a bit of advice:  The taxi account will have a limit in terms of funds so make it clear you have long medical journeys coming up or you could be left having to get the account topped up by the Motability account manager before organising a return taxi!  It happened to us.  Also, you may have to wait to be picked up after your appointment…so take reading material.

I have an EV and the Ohme charger from Motability.  It took about three months to get the charger but this was because Ohme’s contractor tried to charge additional costs that I felt were outrageously over priced and did not meet my needs.  The initial order was put on hold whilst I arranged appropriate work to be completed myself.  The process then restarted with a different contractor and was completed (very professionally) within three weeks.

From many comments on the forum, it seems to depend on your assigned installer as much as any specific needs for your property.

@Markah2007  I have had the same problem.  Don’t get excited – it is solved but I don’t know how!!

Our first three charges were fine, the next five, after the new year, were at about 3.8kw and did not get us to 80%.  All that happened is that we charged the car in public chargers over the new year.  Really not sure if I changed somethingon the app accidentally or if the public chargers did it or if the new year did it?!

I contacted Ohme who wanted photos etc and told me the setup is fine – the ticket is still open.

Fortunately our installer had left his contact details because we had not expected the car for another 6 months and he kindly said he would come back and re-cap for us – so we contacted him. He changed something in our settings remotely and it has worked for the past four charges (we are very new to this).  It has charged to 99% each time – I’m scared to change anything now!

I suppose I’m suggesting you speak to your installer – the contractor, not Ohme.

I cannot add anything useful with the individual problem you have had however I fully agree Motability is not what it was.  Large profits, high salaries for top staff and poorer service to users.  They have high satisfaction ratings but that is unsurprising given the volume of customers.  More interesting would be the satisfaction ratings where things go wrong – how they resolve problems not just how they supply vehicles – most people are in a good mood when they get a new car!

I won’t bore everyone with my sagas other than to say they have included the RAC when travelling abroad and in the UK and replacement vehicles due to waiting months for parts. After months of arguing, I wrote a very long letter to the Charity (as they have oversight for the “purpose”) of the Operational team.  No response.  I suggested that they were on a path where they would one day look back and wonder where it all went wrong.

Perhaps it is time for MPs to review the organisation again and possibly to allow a competitor to be set up.

Had a car delivered last year without charge.

Cannot help with other questions – can’t remember!
