hey everyone! Hope your all keeping well?

My car has gone in for repair.

it needs a new ECU and door sensor.

Garage is saying it’s an extended lead time on parts – guessing this is the ECU parts as this has RAM in it.

my hire car is a petrol which is starting to cost me a pretty penny compared to electric.

how long is a reasonable amount of time to get my car fixed before I go to Motability to see what my options are?

        Hi

Not sure there is a reasonable time – it is what it is.

Hopefully more helpful:  We currently have a replacement car as ours is in the garage.  We requested and got an electric so it may be worth asking for that.

Also, be aware of the small print.  If it is with Europe Car (I believe the provider is changing) the first month is unlimited mileage but if you have it for more than 28 days there is a mileage limit applied to the whole hire time – may not be an issue for you but it was for us 2 years ago!…. Hence we checked limits this time.

Was in exactly the same place as you are. Had an MG ICE for six weeks, making 2500 miles and paying for the fuel rather than charging at home overnight.

Motability refused to compensate. Took them to the ombudsman together with other issues.

I would recommend you to reach out Motability in writing, explaining the current situation.

Advise them on a significant gap in costs.

          Request to be reimbursed.

I believe they will refuse. I would raise an official complaint with them, noting you want to take the case to the ombudsman and ask for their permission to skip 8 weeks cooling period.

            Hi…

            I have a e3008…

My car has been off the road for a total least 11 weeks since I’ve had in..Nov..2024! Including electrical problems and steering joint recalls..(2 weeks)

The current problems are major electrical problems with the car…9 weeks and counting!!

Peugeot claim there’s a fault with the door locks shorting the system out..B******t!!

The dealers havnt even bothered to pick up the phone to me…I have to chase Motobility and the RAC for updates..

The Peugeot customer care..joke…!!have informed RAC that there’s a long wait for parts…

The latest is..and I quote..”The dealers have informed Peugeot, that the parts are now in..however…they’ll get around to fitting the parts when there’s room in their workshop…that was 2 weeks ago…

I also know of someone with exactly the same problem..same time off road…car returned…and broke down again 24 hours later, with same problem…off the road again..

Service is absolutely ,diabolical and they don’t t give a toss for the customer..

I have requested to Motobility that I return the vehicle..they say that the RAC must approve it..and there may be a charge..!

I have spoken with RAC and requested the car gets returned..as I no longer have any faith in Peugeot…or their products..

In 3 days time I’m starting week 10 of no e3008 ..I am running around in a hire car…not ideal..

So anyone thinking of buying an E3008

Think again..Great looking car but a whole heap of grief and inconvenience..

Anyone else having the same problem with Peugeot??

There must be a few out there as thier workshops seem to have no room..

Apologies for the long winded mail..just making people aware..

            Thanks

            Garethb
