Well guys, today I had zero communication off Volvo… anyone in shock? No reply to my very concerning emails about My car not being built yet, and bother I ordered, and being promised it this month!! Anyone any good news to share? Or any news? 🙂
Sorry to hear MrsL83, my update seemed to come after my online messenger chat with Motability where they offered to ask. Could try that? I’m just resigned to waiting till end of July but if they don’t give me the £750 off I might canx but what would I buy instead with similar ap and instant delivery? 🤷♀️ Maybe someone else cancelled Volvo in a different colour!
What build date did you get? Me & UncJ got the exact same 😒
Im not CXL it’s want I really want, and nothing else comes close unless Merc GLA came on, I suppose. But then it’s waiting again,
I would really think now that our seats are standard you really won’t have to pay the 750£ xx

I ordered 29/12/23, cancelled that and re-ordered 2/2/24 to save the £500 AP

I visited my local Volvo dealer last Friday after the cars had returned to the Motability scheme and had a very informative conversation with the Volvo Motability Specialist. He did not know Volvo Cars were back on the scheme so had to make some phone calls to Volvo to find out!! He explained that the delivery / order problems were due to an IT issue with Volvo which has now been resolved. Basically Motability cars are ordered on a different system which was not synchronising with the Volvo new car factory order system, this meant that after the Volvo Dealer had placed the order they had no way of finding out if the car had been allocated to the factory for production. He also stated that there were further delays due to the factory having shut for retooling of the 25 model year cars and would only be resuming production in late May. He also confirmed new factory orders are going to take 4-6 months for the XC40 Mild Hybrid and 3-4 months for the EX40 / EC40 Electric (Yes, even though it shows an XC40 / C40 Recharge on the Motability website any cars ordered now would be the new 2025 model EX / EC versions). I was also told that all Motability cars have to be supplied as factory orders. I would advise anyone without a definite delivery date to chase their dealer as there is a possibility their car may not have been ordered on the factory!!

Out of interest who makes the decision on the added £750 seats price from December? Is it Motability or Volvo? Don’t know who I should be asking to drop the price? Any advice? Also with the ap now so much higher don’t want them saying take it or leave it!
My thought would be Volvo! However I’d contact MB first, explain to them that something you have paid £750 for is now standard, just ask for it back/deducting, Don’t ask who you ask, just ask them for it deducting, If then MB say it’s Volvo you need to contact for the deduction, Do the same, just ask for it back/deducting as you have been advised by MB to do so from Volvo, be stern, assertive and like you’ve already had the information that your entitled to it deducted.
UncJ and all fellow XC40 sufferers I’ve just received an email from our dealer with an advised build date 😳W/c 14th June and possible delivery July 9th July 😮 Asking what we want to do now 🤷♀️ Ordered 4th Dec so how can it take 6 months to get on the production line? Grrrr

There’s I think maybe 33 of us on here, some original, some quite new who have ordered Feb-April.Nshaw REALLY put your foot down over the seats, you cannot be charged for something that is standard now.
So I’ve been keeping a little secret. 🤫 I received a call extremely late on Thursday evening to say the original order car that had arrived I was allowed to receive. Didn’t say anything apart from when could I collect? So today at showroom opening I was there ready and waiting. Low and behold transaction went smoothly. It is the MY24 as I ordered with the 360 camera. Rear window tints. I paid my ap had an extremely quick demo and left toot sweet. He did state my lower ap order was on its way and they were arriving steadily all motability orders. Wouldn’t elaborate any further as to the whole motability fiasco. I so hope you all receive the same news very soon and can collect yours.

So with this being the order from the higher AP of £1999 not £1499 did they charge the balance owning from £1999?

Yes UncJ a friend of mine has a GLA and loves it,
I do like Mercedes as a brand anyways I like all their cars.
PS, I emailed my dealer last Monday… no response as yet as you all know I’ve been PROMISED mine in May, He was very confident!! I’ll let you all know when he replies 😒 ☺️

UncJ I use to have the Mercedes ML, I loved that car! I assume that’s now the GLA? I can’t see Merc on MB list as yet, that would be a good option though.
The AP going up to £3499 for the XC40 Woooooah!! That’s Steep! Obviously a ploy knowing people really want them, lucky we are locked in at the original AP of £1499 or £1999 if you kept your original order.
Let’s see what this week brings, if any of us are lucky enough to be selected for our Vehicles 😂😂

Is that on MB? Or was it a private sale? They removed Volvo off MB 17th April, so you must be one of the last to get an order in, be interesting to follow your progress and timescale 🙂
Just had an email reply from dealer and told now *hopefully* expecting my car at the end of July!! 🤬 Will it even come then? Fed right up and will now look elsewhere, ridiculous situation.

I ordered 020124. (Cancelled first order placed on 281224 and had to reorder to get lower AP.) I think it was called Crystal White-basically just white!! 😂
Ah ok yeah, same as what I did, at least it’s kind of here now!! Won’t be long x
My dealership contacted me yesterday to advise my order, that had been sat in Zeebrugge Port’s long stay holding facility since mid March, has now arrived in the UK and has been assigned a registration plate-although there may now be delays getting it to the dealership, owing to having to wait for the onward transport to be full with vehicles and not just the odd one or two. So, at least there has been some progress. Will post any further updates if/when received.

I’ve looked at different colours and my opinion the black looks best. Not seen many xc40s around here but lots of xc90s and 60s. The 40s I’ve seen have been in anything but black. A pig to keep clean in black.
I liked the black in the showroom it was lovely, it was next to a Vapour Grey, equally as nice and I’d seen quite a few black 60’s so I wanted to be different so I went Grey,
I do absolutely love the Red though too that I saw someone had ordered on here 👌🏽
Agree with worth the wait. There’s other nice cars but Volvo was the best I drove, a bit stiff on rough roads, it’s no Land Rover but coupled with the low advance and very comfortable seats it beat everything else. it is a shame they don’t do the xc90 as that would of been a perfect replacement for my current car.
Agree I’d have XC90 too! If they ever come on MB … well if Volvo ever come back on MB 😂😂😂
