Thanks! After a week, I already have a niggle list!
1. The parking ticket holder would have been better on the passenger side, because then it could hold my blue badge. Drivers side is no good because it obscures the view. Because I forget to display it, in the end I ordered a rubber mat off Amazon which I’ve now put on the dashboard passenger side which holds it.
2. The ‘lock when walk away’ and ‘unlock when walk towards’ I found too unreliable. Standing in the supermarket entrance, looking at the car 50 yards away and still not locking itself. So I’ve turned it off permanently.
3. The heads-up display on my husband’s car, I’m able to turn off the right and left side of the display (which is just battery and range information) and just have the middle section – which is simply just the speed limit and the speed I’m doing. Can’t do it on the Elroq, which is a shame as I don’t like having too much information to look at – my head can’t cope!
I think that’s it for now! I could make a list of things I love about the car, but it would be about a hundred long!
Finally here! Collected on Thursday 4th! Absolutely thrilled, just perfect.
Hooray!!!!! Just been informed my car is at the docks awaiting a ship to the UK 85 sportline Maxx/winter/driver packs
Nice, perhaps we’ll be boat buddies!
Also I thought I was the only person to have ever ordered the driver pack, haha! (After the debacle of whether it was actually available to order in the UK)!!!
Similar spec to mine, but you’ve gone for the winter pack too. Very nice!

(Apologies if my reply posts twice – weird website error when I pressed submit).
The dealer has given me the VIN number and I’m sure that I read in the past that you could then use the Skoda app to track its journey from the port to the dealer.
But I can’t see a way in the app of doing this.
Anyone else any the wiser? Or is it a case of ringing up the dealer every week and saying “where is it now”? Pretty sure he’d get fed up of me!
Hi,
It sets the miles based on your driving style since the last time you charged it. So 100% it estimates if you drive the same will get you 320 miles.
Nice journey! Just wondered…. Which battery do you have and did you charge to 80 or 100%?
My Elroq has just left the factory so the excitement can officially start! Dealer says 4 to 5 weeks is the normal boat/import/delivery timeframe.
Picked up the car this morning – was meant to be yesterday – went in checked the car – came home transferred money at 12 noon – checked app 30 mins later – money gone not pending – Motability rep was at account team all afternoon to confirm – about 4:50 they managed to confirm – so it didn’t happen – not good – but not reps fault – he was very professional throughout
Hey, looks amazing! Glad you’ve got it. Ordered mine in May and have been told mid-September. As this is my first Motability car, your comments about the payment were an eye opener. I’d assumed I would just walk into the dealership in the morning, pay the dealer direct with my debit card, and then walk out with the car?
Once you drive it a few times, the range will go down. It’s based on how aggressively you drove it the last time I think.
Thanks for the YouTube links. The reviewer said that it was still good enough to get their badge/award/recommendation, so I’m confident that will be good enough for me. Sounds like he was only slightly negative because he’s comparing it to the hundreds of other high end systems he’s reviewed maybe.
Thanks for all the comments. These, plus reading reviews online has made me feel (a lot) happier now about getting the rear wheel drive Elroq on order. I guess technology has moved on a lot since I last drove a RWD car!
I went through all the same thoughts when I was looking at Elroq vs Enyaq recently. Went for the Elroq 85 Sportline [Maxx] in the end. Was slightly miffed that things that were standard on the Enyaq were only part of the Maxx package in the Elroq, especially when you throw in DCC (‘Drivers Pack’) which I had to pay extra for on the Elroq. It’s just that the bigger size of the Enyaq wasn’t for me, but both lovely cars, so you takes your choice on that, and each person will obviously have different requirements.
The comments on the sound system are interesting. I test drove the Elroq with the standard sound system and wasn’t impressed at all. So that was the other reason for wanting the Maxx package – to get the upgraded sound. I haven’t actually sampled the upgraded sound system – I’m just taking the leap of faith that it will be better!
Yeah you’re right – the Motability app just says it’s the advance payment for the Maxx package. So suspect I’ll pay the difference to the dealer direct.
Haha the colour!! I say that because it took me weeks to actually place the order just because I couldn’t decide on the colour. I liked it in black (saw it at the dealership), but I have a thing for red cars. Asked husband, children, neighbours and friends if they preferred it in black or red and they all said black. So ofourse I went for the red. At least it will stand out I guess as there won’t be many of them about.
Just to update, had my charger installed today and can confirm I was able to pick whether I wanted the tethered or untethered Ohme. I went for the untethered Ohme (the ePod) for the reasons I said earlier (I didn’t want the cable hanging around). So massive thumbs up.
I did cheekily ask if they throw in a cable anyway, and they said no. They did say something vague about maybe the dealer will do that when I pick up my car. If they mean the huge 200Kw yellow type cables that come with cars, then that won’t be for me for every day use – too heavy – so I’d plan to leave that in the car for the odd occasion when I want to charge on a long trip.
So will probably end up buying a lighter 11Kw cable of my own for the ePod. Which comes back full circle as the disadvantage of choosing the untethered charger – but that was a risk I was willing to take when I picked it.
Hope this information is of use to someone!
Ordered my first ever Motability car yesterday…. Drum roll… elroq 85 Sportline [Maxx] options : driver pack (DCC) The Škoda website doesn’t give the option of the driver pack, but the downloadable brochure does (so the confusion continues). The dealer was able to select it on his screen. Will be keeping an eye on it for the next week to see if it gets rejected or not because of the driver pack. Especially now with this rumour that the car might be coming off the list for a quarter.
I have an order number from the dealer now, but that doesn’t really help in tracking the order, as I think the Skoda app needs a VIN number. So still not sure if the order has been ‘accepted’ with the driver pack, but I have to assume at this stage that it is 🙂
Just ordered a Škoda Elroq. Motability are going to fit an Ohme charger (which is actually my preferred option). The OVO terms and conditions say until September 2025 and that Motability cars are included.
So far so good, but it you click on the link in the T&Cs, Ohme is no longer listed (and yet they must know that Ohme is Motability’s charging partner).
So should I even bother switching? Currently with Octopus.

Does anyone know for definite if the “Driver Package” is available for the Elroq in the UK? It’s essentially dynamic chassis control. Mixed results when I google it.
If you go on the UK Skoda website, and build your own Elroq, it isn’t available as an option to pick (not that I can find). But if you go on the Skoda UK website and download the PDF Elroq brochure, it’s available on there.
Thanks!
Hi, I’m already with Octopus, but thanks for the reply and useful information.
Thinking of switching to OVO as all VW group cars are currently coming with 30,000 free miles of charge.
Haha not heard of length anxiety just range! That’s good to know. To be honest, if I went for the untethered I just assumed I would have to source my own cable, so good to hear it was supplied.
Hi thanks for the reply – much appreciated. Reason for the choice of charger is because of my OCD and wanting an untethered model so I can unplug it and not put up with an ugly coil of wire on the wall. So I’d had my eyes on the Ohme E-Pod, which seems to be one of the few untethered ones out there. So from what you’re saying, sounds like I’ll be OK.
Thanks again!
Apologies for the duplicate posting – it said ‘a serious WordPress error has occurred’ but it seems to have posted my messages anyway!
To answer my own question, I’ve now spotted the thread on the front page with the special offers on it.
Thanks!
A friend has the tavascan V2, he loves it. The only thing he dislikes is the brakes and that the charging tech is not as good as the Enyaq. There’s an offer by the JCB group on the tavascan maybe it’s worth asking local dealers to try offer similar? “CUPRA Tavascan 210kW V1 77KWh 5-door Automatic Normally £2,495 Advance Payment, but at JCB CUPRA you pay £999 Advance Payment! Saving you £1,496 CUPRA Tavascan 210kW V1 77kWh 5-door Automatic with Winter Pack fitted Normally £3,495 Advance Payment, but at JCB CUPRA you pay £1,899 Advance Payment! Saving you £1,596 this offer is only available on cars ordered by 30th June 2025 and handed over by 30th September 2025.”
Hi, this sounds like a great deal and I just wondered if there is a suitable source of information on Motability discounts (not just for Cupra). Maybe it’s somewhere on this website/forum and I haven’t seen it yet. Many thanks!
