EV driver have done so, via there own choice and morally many don’t want to drive ICE cars again.
I fully get why someone would choose an EV for cheap running costs and I don’t blame them for that but, morally doing so, is somewhat ignorant to communities where mining takes place, which has rapidly increased with the introduction of mainstream EV, turbines and other green tech.
Probably one iOf the most asinine posts i.ve seen on the forum.
Even a light fact check. There are 34 lithium mines on the planet, and maybe 3 mines have been affected, on in Brazil, one in Argentina, what complete nonsense.
The oil corollary are oil wells, how many displaced communities from oil wells and fracking? Again fact check. YGoogle does not know how many oil wells are on the planet. There are 900,000 on the US and over1500 in the UK.
Completely ignoring the elephant in the room. 34,000 deaths every year in the UK attributed to hydrocarbon respiratory and heart problems. School children with exhaust fumes asthma and respiratory ailment all from exhaust pipes.
It is telling that no one on the forum picks up on the absolute rubbish posts.
It’s no different from petrol stations though??
My local asda unmanned petrol stations has a button for disabled assistance, as does most stations.
If you are having problems ask! I saw one guy couldn’t get the ev plug out of his car and 3 people stopped to help, he never asked him, they just went and helped.
There is common sense and some people just pick nonsense and run with it.
If you have trouble at a petrol station or an EV charger, people will come and help you.
Is it not that the lease you sign is for 3 years, and extensions are discretionary?
The mb did post huge losses last year and be keen to return to profitability. Maybe that is why they are changing the extensions.
But if you ask nicely, and give them valid reasons for the extensions, they may be favourable.
Bearing in mind they are quite helpful and reasonable. The limited choice for under 25,s is an issue.
You can only ask.
Yes, my car was having i termite t alarm activations and the tech just charged the 12v battery, and it’s been fine since. I.ll dig out my battery charger if I
The warning signs appear again.
if you’re in a rush you can override the automatic scheduling and us MAX CHARGE and this will charge your car regardless of the tariff cost at the time.
Not quite. That is why I choose to charge manually 11.00 at night on Max Charge it starts on the 7p/KwHr tariff as it is in IOG time. But it charges at full rate 7.39 Kw.
Only once have I charged during the day and it cost 26p/KwHr, or whatever the peak rate is, I have forgotten.
But Max Charge does what it says on the tin. The Ohme charger is essentially setup as a dumb charger.
You are incorrect with assumptions and sums regarding ohme, octopus intell, and the ev.
Your car does not have to be compatible with octopus, ohme.
I use octopus intell and charge the ev manually. I set the charge schedule from the car, currently 11.30 until 7.30, but going to change it to 11.00. the ohme charger is set as octopus intell. I plug in about 9 or 10.00 at night and don’t confirm plugin until I want to start the charge.
A couple of nights ago I started at 11.00 put in 53.6kw it took 7.23 hours and cost $3.75..quid not dollars.
The charge hours are flexible.
Don’t get hung up about the finer details. It works, you don’t have to have everything set. It’s clunky, but it works.

Good discussion, many people do not comment, but this is good info. Especially home now charging for the 8m cable.

Month by month and year by year the EV charging infrastructure is improving. It is in it’s infancy.
Not everyone can charge at home, even less has a fuel pump attached to their house either…unless you are a farmer..lol.
Do not forget in 5 years time petrol stations will be at the same stage EV charging is now.
There will be very few dispensing petrol or diesel and will be Converted to charging stations.
Politically, The Conservatives panicked when they lost by election over a ULEZ manifesto. They lengthened Net Zero by 5 years.
In all likelihood Labour will win the election this year and move the Net Zero date back 5 years to it’s original date.
Many here bury their heads in the sand and reckon they have a choice to force abandoning EV,s and stick with petrol. But is a Supply led market and take it or leave it. Some no doubt reckon they can keep a diesel car hidden away. But petrol and diesel in the future will have equality with Class A drugs and have severe sentences. Supply of petrol and diesel will be very very limited, certainly NOT to the general public.
