What is the VAT payment calculated from, is it the purchase price of the car or the value of lease or something else?
I remember now, the Advance Payment 🤣🤣🤣

My car isn’t due for replacement until December I’m going to wait a see how mobility works out, if the scheme changes don’t suit me then, I will have to consider my position.
I suppose that’s the same approach for most people.

I’m in my mid 70s there’s no boy racer left in me, I drive very defensively these days. The only real black box I’m worried about is the one they bury in the ground🤣🤣🤣
Black boxes in everyone’s car is surely an unnecessary expense.

Time to start looking at other leasing options, I think 🤷😫

Are 50 grand Mercs available on the scheme???
RICHARD LITTLEJOHN: The Motability scheme was never designed to buy 50-grand Mercs for bedwetting boy racers in balaclavas with made-up mental illnesses. Scrap it now!

Bright and early this morning I went to have a sit in and look around the Qashqai at my local dealerships. The first problem I had was parking. Although this is a large Nissan dealership, there only seemed to be one disabled parking bay and that was filled with a white Transit van. Every other bay in the dealership was full to. No where to park at all. I met the Motability sales guy who showed me around the Qashqai, a car which really impressed me, naturally he sat me in the top ‘grade’. I asked about delivery times which weren’t a deal breaker depending on the ‘grade’ and colour I wanted. My biggest problem was when I asked about a test drive. I wanted to drive the car home to make sure it fit in the garage OK but the salesman said only accompanied test drives were allowed. Never had this before. Not sure now as I wouldn’t change cars without having had a decent test drive. I must admit though that my Corolla TS did feel a little ‘dated’ when I got back in it though.
<p style=”text-align: center;”>You do need to ensure it fits in your Garage, all of the Nissan test drives all I’ve had, across 2 dealerships, were accompanied by the Sales Guy, I would imagine it would be a requirement of the insurance.

Book yourself in for a test drive and ask to go by your garage?? Once you’ve driven the QQ you will be hooked. It’s always difficult to find a parking space at dealers, the place is full of cars???

The ePower is my sixth Datsun/ Nissan ,& is definitely the best thus far! Sure, there are bigger cars out there, better equipped, faster, more economical etc etc, depending on your needs, wants, bank balance etc etc etc, but overall this car is a winner, and I have had Jaguars, Cross Country Volvos, Rovers etc etc etc and previously drove 45,000 miles a year. Each to his own of course, but I have no hesitation in recommending this car, whether driving 45,000 miles or just to the corner shop & back !

I agree, probably not as quick as an f4 Phantom but still a good drive?

I have had my QQ epower Tekna for 3 weeks, it took a week to get used to it but now it’s a joy to drive. I like the HUD and not having to change gear, all the Tech you would want is in there the only thing it doesn’t do is make the tea?
This is my 3rd and best QQ

I have yet to pick up my new car but the Ap dropped by £500 in January and the dealer amended the order, it only took him a couple of minutes.

Don’t forget to take the spare key with you when you return the car, I’ve just got mine out of the safe ready for next week.

@Gee
Many people underestimated the legally allowed speed rather than overestimated it in the quiz, they put down 30mph and the max speed was 50 mph.

The quiz surprised me there were many places where I significantly underestimated the speed you were legally allowed to do!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Had an unexpectedly long test drive this afternoon, only because I was on the road parallel to the one I thought I was on. ??♀️???
Took my brother along as well. We were lucky enough to be set free of the rep, he was busy with another customer. ?? vroom vroom ⚡️⚡️ Mixed driving, 30mph to 65mph. Smooth, quiet, great cameras, nippy pick up, much better than previous test. Booked the Qashqai epower Tekna in Burgundy. Should arrive at the end of March, if not before. Thanks for all advice.
If my epower does turn up the week after next, from order to delivery it will be 9 weeks

The E-power, when delivered next week, will be our 3rd Qashqai, we have never had any real issues and find the seating\driving position very comfortable, a great car that is flexible and suits our needs.

My E-power Qashqai Tekna was ordered in December and will be delivered to the dealer in about a weeks time.

it sounds like your original dealer has done you a unintentional favour much to their own detriment ????
It serves them right ??

January 4, 2024 at 10:15 am in reply to: New Q1 AP Drops in Price ASK the Dealer for the New Lower AP #253762It just proves that the dealers can amend the AP when they want to.

January 3, 2024 at 3:15 pm in reply to: New Q1 AP Drops in Price ASK the Dealer for the New Lower AP #253645I think he just didnt want to do it for you, we all know that changing the AP is possible and is quite simple. Never mind, as you write its a simple matter of canceling the order with your current dealer then going to another dealer and placing a fresh order.

January 3, 2024 at 11:50 am in reply to: New Q1 AP Drops in Price ASK the Dealer for the New Lower AP #253591Well my dealer proclaims it can’t be done! I’ve obviously explained to him that I have done this exact thing before with a previous order. Lets see what he comes back with.
They have probably lots of time to dispute this with you but no time to carry what is a 5 minute job !!!!
Dont give up

January 2, 2024 at 1:24 pm in reply to: New Q1 AP Drops in Price ASK the Dealer for the New Lower AP #253398I emailed my dealer yesterday and he replied this morning, he confirmed he had adjusted the order to reflect the new reduced AP this morning.
Applying the reduced AP should not be an issue.
