Declan I’m pretty sure the headlight issue was dealt with in a very early recall and believe our cars are not effected. Most people don’t know how the lights work tbh.

When driving at night on auto full beam and a car approaches the right head light dims so that it won’t blind other drivers, but it is still full beam on left side. The fact that not all cars are flashing suggests it’s working.

It’s been spoke about here about drivers being flashed when they know that full beam is off. Modern lights are so bright that some think that your full beam is on.

Mine works well for oncoming cars but is hit and miss when coming in and out of street lights. Honestly it’s a shit set up and in my case is so slow to switch back to high beam so I started just flicking between high and low manually. Basically the lights are just shite and sometimes tech advances sound great on paper but are practically keke bobo.

Sorry just reread your post and that makes sense as in it working. High beam will switch off in areas of street light as the car senses light everywhere in front. But if a car approaches it will only knock off the high beam on that side of the road and when behind a car still on full but slightly dipped so not to blind but still flooding road with light.

Rich for me it would have been car camping. In hindsight the logical thing for me to do would have been going for the much bigger Enyaq with mild 4×4 and lower ap then buying a power bank with the money saved on ap.

Mick the £1 is to register your card with them so if you leave it back with no fuel etc they can charge your card.

I think it was 5 days including a weekend that I had no car. Hurst (dealer), motability and europacar were useless and if I hadn’t have chased it up I probably would still not have a car

Dee I’m in an europacar now and I don’t know when I’ll get my car back. I requested an automatic SUV and had to wait over three days for it.

Mick C they will want a £1 charge on your card to cover anything.

Also check for damage as mine had quite a bit.

No V2L brydo. V2H sounds good mind, although not quite sure how it works. I think there’s a member on here who invested in  big battery storage for the home. Cheap electric at night stored and used during the day when electricity is more expensive.

This would mean that your car stores the electric and it can be used in the same way.

V2H is similar but only you sell it back to the grid.

If motability did help which I think they won’t, but if they did they will just take your mobility component money and let you hire a car. So why not just use your mobility money and hire yourself a car in the meantime time.

You could cancel the order if you find a stock car that suits which you could get in between 3 days to two weeks.

What’s the plan with old car. Fix and sell, trade in or scrap? If the first two then you need it fixed anyway. Get it done asap so you have a car until your original order is ready.

Jonnybegood your right about ev charging points not being suitable for all disabilities. I’m fine and a big strong lad and while recently charging at a rapid charger my first thought was how do those with certain disabilities are even those a bit frail cope with the big heavy cables.

To be exact it’s not necessarily the actual weight but, when removing and especially replacing the charging head from the charger, it’s the rigidness of the thick cable that makes it harder to manoeuvre, especially if your chair means you cannot get as close to the charger. Also with side charging ports making it that wee bit harder, I think front charging ports on cars would make it easier for some people. Not everybody’s disabilities are the same so some will manage and some won’t.

Your also 100% right about range worries, I don’t like the term range anxiety tbh. Regarding cars on the scheme it’s safe to say if you didn’t think about it you’d be foolish.

My current car advertises 326 and I would get about 220. Now I’m in Belfast and if I want to go to Dublin I don’t need to give it a second thought, plenty of chargers there and back. One of my other favourite drives is Donegal and there is one 50kw charging port in killybegs, if that ain’t working then I’m snookered as there are no others around that part of Donegal. Doesn’t matter how many apps you check to make sure it’s working, if it ain’t I’m in trouble. It’s the only place where I had a near miss and I panicked. I would imagine rural middle Ireland to be like rural middle England in that there may be a hell of lot less charging points. So some drives do not require any thought, some require some thought and some will require a lit of thought and some luck. I’ve seen quite a few videos of people doing John o groats to lands end in EVs without a problem, but facts are facts and i cannot get to parts of Donegal which is about 250 miles for me unless that one single charging point is working. And with that part of the world being so remote it will probably never change, mind ranges will.

This is something that could happen to ice cars, but nowhere on the scale of EV cars and a reason why some forum users here just won’t commit to ev yet, and why a lot of others won’t either.

It works for most but not all.

Ele is right. You’ve made a mistake and don’t want the car anymore. I don’t believe you will be charged for the charger, but  you will pay a £250 admin fee and will have a strike, mark, tick or whatever they call it against you. I believe it three of them and they will remove you from the scheme so choose wisely.

That’s right Kezo. They call it a technical ticket. So the dealer mechanic will plug the computer in get fault codes, send them to Peugeot in France who will look at them and send back a detailed set of instructions on how to fix it. It’s happened to me twice, first time I couldn’t remember the full name and just the ticket part.

MF my dealer tore into them and just how bad they are to deal with for franchise staff as well. There will be another big storm coming soon similar to the gran coupe, Enyaq, Tucson and ioniq 5 if what she tells me is right. Only no one will get there cars.

First my memory isn’t great which was why I wasn’t going to mention it, but I remember enough. There is a car that is suitable for under 25s and she has lots of orders for it for those under 25. She didn’t mention numbers just that she has a lot of phone calls to make to tell people, some who have been waiting 4-5 months that they are not getting any car now and she was gutted. Peugeot tweaked the engine/motor and it now falls into the over 25 category.

She said the reply from stellantis was atrocious when she questioned what can be done for her customers. I’ve also had the ‘so’ just fuck off type reply from them as has the journalists in the article above.

SUV guy I would not put anybody off ordering the e3008. I got a dud, simple as that. There are plenty of folk on the FB group happily motoring away, yes a few with some of the problems I’ve had, but nothing as concerning as mine. One other thing and I’ve said this to Pops. They went from delivering them at a very fast rate, to very little the last month or two. I presume they know the problems and are slowing things down so people get cars that work as recalls and workshop visits cost them money.

The range does seem to be another problem and Forbes has sussed it. There is no regeneration on mine, yes it works as in slowing the car down, but never seems to add as much as a mile to range. They think a bug maybe. And they are right and it was something I didn’t give enough thought too, it’s about as aerodynamic as a brick, so the much bigger e5008 will probably be worse.

For a top spec model it has nothing really especially if you look at the scenic e-tech.

Would I have enjoyed the car if little or no problems existed, aye, yes. It drives well, looks great and is a beautiful place to sit in, especially at night. I got over the V2L thing, realised that the range would not be a big problem so I made my peace with it after about 4 days glitch free and decided I would just try and enjoy it. Then it cooked me on a drive to a restaurant and I ended up all sweaty and peed off again lol

The part about the e3008 is interesting and makes sense regarding my poor range. And the usual Peugeot/stellantis response was just like mine. So, now get lost.

Aye the e3008 is stunning inside and out, mind I would like less fabric as we ate a chippy inside it at the beach one day, and the car stunk for about 3 days, even after driving about with the windows open.

Still no luck with the app. Take it to the dealer and see if they can do it. Mind as I say it doesn’t do anything apart from some basic information. Or that maybe just mine lol

TBF the car has always drove and I don’t mind the drive. Apart from the drive selector sometimes not working, quick off on sorts that. I will be honest and say that I was getting a bit paranoid at people here, dealers and motability thinking I’m making this up as I’ve just decided that something else has caught my eye. But the phone call yesterday the engineer said he did get every fault code to match all the problems I mentioned. So that’s a relief.

I called them today to see what’s happening and they are waiting on Peugeot engineers getting them fixes for it as there’s a lot of problems. They don’t know how long they will have it, but it won’t be back this week.

Europa car hire phoned. They don’t have any automatics and will contact me when one comes back. AHH hello check the puter and see when ones due back, they can’t! Huh how da feck can… Idiots. I’m going to try and book one of there autos as a private hire and see if they are bulls… Me. The reason I ain’t phoned motability about it is that they will just tell me to set up a taxi account and that ain’t happening. Today alone would have been 7 taxis, 7 tomorrow and 6 Friday. That just doesn’t seem worth the hassle. OH to work and two kids in different schools and all go at different times. Mind I’m enjoying not doing the rat runs, but they ain’t enjoying the long walks lol. And TBF it’s a bit far for the six yo so needs sorting.

When I spoke with motability a few weeks ago they were brilliant TBF. Agreed to a termination but would have to charge me £250, unless I get dealership to look at it so they can waive the fee, no matter the outcome fixed/not fixed I would be allowed to cancel at no cost.

I’ve currently spent all morning looking into scenic iconic and Tucson phev ultimate. I don’t want to go ice but prefer the Tucson, why I haven’t settled yet and am putting my own head away is no preconditioning on it. Preconditioning is a game changer if I’m honest.

Tucson in spec and colour I want is 2 weeks

Scenic in colour and spec I want is 3 weeks.

This is the easiest question ever answered. At 28mpg you will save a fortune no matter what pence you pay per kilowatt. Lol

I’m driving the e3008 GT now and for range you’d be looking at 220 miles of a full charge bad weather and hopefully around 270 good weather.

You can charge at home so it should be a no brainer to switch and if in England even better as they have the best electric tariffs. And as you’ve already thought about I don’t imagine you’ll have range anxiety, which TBF is really only something a few would need to worry about.

The e3008 has a button that washes the camera and it’s pretty good. Must be highish presure as it works ok.

I am like a bear, tbh my mood ain’t been great from I got this car, but this latest cluster duck has just pushed me to far and tbh I’m am absolutely fed up dealing with idiots, idiots everywhere. Common sense is gone and has been replaced by puter says no idiots.

Booked the car in to workshop as I was going away for five days, plenty of time to sort it, and about 30 minutes later the guy comes out and says that he needs to get a ticket of Peugeot to see what needs done. But says nothing came up huh. Take car home and he will get back to me. 2 weeks pass so I phone and they say there is no record of the car being in the workshop huh. So I arrange to go back over, clear my day make kids walk to school and go back.

I get over and the guy says when would you like it booked in, huh. I’m here now and it’s is booked in. No we need to book it in. Why to duck could you not have done it over the phone, oh there’s been a mix up. Boom it in take car go home.

Bring it over yesterday explained that I need it back no later than 3pm as there was no courtesy car. Yes fine I’ll write down 2pm just incase and will phone you when it is ready. 3pm, 4pm, 5pm nothing so I phone them as they close at six. Looked at car and found nothing but decided to take a test drive between hand it back and low and behold every warning light and fault appears on the test drive, all of them huh.

Tells me he needs a ticket of Peugeot to get work done, explains that as it’s a brand new car they need Peugeot engineers to send over instructions on fixes. Huh.

So I’ve no car. Huh. He says he will contact motability to organise hire car, but it takes 24 hours until they get back to you. Huh, I’ve no car.

Well what can I do, motability phones a few hours later and tells me about hire car and it will take up to 24hrs to organise. Yeah I f’ing know. First thing this morning europacar phones and asks for registration number. I explained I didn’t know it as I’ve only had the cars a few weeks. He asks why I don’t know it, huh I’ve just f’ing explained why. Is a name and address not an f’ing enough. Yeah that will do, huh. Right we are getting somewhere. Am I feck. It will take 3 days to get you a car, huh wtf. And what do I do in the meantime. Can you organise taxis, ah go feck yourself. Aye I’ll sort something. Goodbye.

Here’s what happened. Peugeot knew about fault codes from first visit but didn’t k ow what to do about it. Idiots. The hire car guy, just take a name and address ya idiot. Motability 3 f’ing days and no I don’t want taxis, I want a car, any car ya f’ing idiots.

Ps I’m really a nice person and would not curse at and or call someone an idiot who’s just trying to do there job. But in my head I’m screaming YAS F’ING IDIOTS.

Phew i feel a bit better now. Do I duck. This is driving me around the bend.

Cheers Kezo. The Kona is up by 1k and with it being the smallest even with the V2L I’m going to rule it out. Would love it but that rise and being the smallest is a no. If the price was still 1800 I would jump on it.

The scenic ionic is top spec is £2395 and the Tucson top spec is £3k. Drive is not really important to me, as or looks. Toys and interior are. I like both but the Tucson seems nicer inside.

Here’s how I’m going to make my decision. Who ever gets me a car quickest is the car I’ll be getting. My Hyundai dealer is just around the corner so I’ll dander around and see how quick they can get one. Yes I’m walking, you’ll see a rant soon about that.

Ps one would leave me with £700 in my tail which I ain’t really thought about. I am fed up.

I believe the preconditioning may decide that I go with the scenic as I spent an hour and more reading reviews on both and I like both. I swore id never go back to ICE but the way I look at it is three years ain’t that long and I can go back to EV then and probably get something special.

Every time I’ve done it I’ve went through the e3008 FB page. Lots of information on there.

Ps the app never works anyway lol

They should but some can be awkward as it’s not really ment to happen but no one says they can’t do it either. My Peugeot dealer changed mine without me even asking and it was for nearly 2k. I asked a Hyundai dealer would he do it and he said no problem.

I can see a few big changes coming to motability soon and one will probably be the ap you agree to at time of ordering will be what you pay regardless of up price going up or down.

That will be a welcome boost with the price rises. So at the moment I’m looking at the e scenic, Tucson plug in, maybe Kona or a holiday to Tenerife next year and just put up with the e poop

I have to say that while I’ve only had one Hyundai I could not fault it in anyway. The old Kona was superb tbh so would love another Hyundai. As for the e3008 well it’s sort of putting me of another french EV and I believe the scenic and e3008 were built from scratch. Could similar problems occur?
