It’s not active from factory and it’s not the same as the motorway system if you can give me about a hour I can find out.
I questioned them about the over air updates and it’s an update and calibration so they need the car for a day which I wasn’t very happy about. It’s already had over the air update about 2 weeks ago I got a notification on Bluelink and on the car about it. But yes it’s a 74 plate N line s same as yours.
I’m having issues with my wipers they aren’t clearing the windscreen it’s been back in to be checked and annoyingly they don’t have the wipers on the shelf and neither do kwickfit. I found out about the update as I have worked with a few of them when I was a regional technician and just got chatting about the car.
Ioniq is right it uses the adaptive cruise control you don’t need to press the paddles, when it’s setup it just works like it’s in auto mode with the regen I think that’s where the confusion has come from I’m not great at explaining things on paper sorry.
If you had switched on the auto speed adjustment in the settings then above 18mph I think it is for initial setup press the adaptive cruise control button then it will say to match the speed limit on the road press up on the speed adjustment to match the road sign, then it will say automatically adjusting speed limit, set your distance like you would for the motorway system and that’s it will auto regen and adjust your speed to the signs but also do stop start in the traffic you don’t touch the paddles. It will do auto regen on its own, you just steer. In the setttings I’ve only turned on the auto speed and turned off the lane keeping assist I find that dangerous.
The manuals are very thick I’ve only read the bits I’ve wanted to know so far 😂 then with driving the mustang and enyaq both have a similar system on the new models different way from the Tesla’s I used to drive.
I’m booked in end of this month to have the update done on the camera to enable more features apparently stopping at traffic lights and junctions which the vw system already does, kind of so not holding my hopes up but getting the update anyway hopefully it’s better.Hope that helps markah2007
Thank you for that i had been pressing reply on the persons post thinking that was how you did it but thanks for clearing that up for me much appreciated.
One pedal driving isn’t efficient and i was replying Markah2007 with my post.
That isn’t the cruise control I’m on about that’s the old system as is the my23 they have brought a new one out since with more spec and efficiency but they have mentioned yours should be able to get some of the add-ons via a software update.
I don’t understand why your still getting involved with the conversation as you keep pointing out you don’t care about efficiency you’ve just pointed out your car doesn’t have the same settings as mine for efficiency. I have a commute i do everyday so im trying to get the best out of it all be that i only need to charge every second week cost of living is so high so its not meaningless to me i want to save as much money as i can its not about the range.
Cloudy 12 degrees no wind. Looks like its going to rain.
Im still learning stuff about the car every day lol, so i hold the right paddle until it says auto, what happens at corners, islands and giving way ?
You can do it this way but i haven’t found that to be the most efficient
You just press the brake and when you release the brake it takes over again ?
You don’t even need to press the break it just stops in traffic and if it moves on within a few seconds it will just go on its own if its longer it asks you to tap the accelerator or press up on the speed adjustment on the steering wheel
Also what button do you press in traffic and what for ?
The best way to set it up is go in to the settings so it automictically adjust the speed for you this is manually done otherwise with the speed adjustment on the steering wheel, then press the same button you use for cruise control this uses the camera to recognise the signs for the speed and sets up the regen to auto reading the road, the only time needing to press the brake if your at the front for traffic lights, and round abouts it should recognise them but mine isn’t and going in for an update.
I am assuming you have the newer more advance and efficient model mine is the N line s model, the older ones are due to get some updates but have different sensors
Yes they have been local mainly traffic jams to the next town across. I’ve worked in the trade for over 20 years so had quite a bit of experience driving all the different cars. That sounds good mileage as well! I was going to heat the car up before going on journeys when the temperature drops.
Thanks for that I was expecting some drop but that gives me a good idea in the cold meant to be a bad winter.Who’s bragging? just saying what I get real life figures tried and tested but then I’m not the only one getting these figures
No not ipedal I haven’t been able to get over 3.5 with that yet I feel it would be better on faster roads. It’s like the adaptive cruise control but at low speeds the one that does stop start traffic without having to use the pedals and automatically sets the “cruise control” to the speed limits. In that mode it automatically adjusts the regen and accelerator for you so you just steer and press the button when it says in traffic, been a game changer on the commute.
After 700 miles in my ionic 5 I average 4.7 have you got it in auto mode? I’ve seen it at 5.2 more often it’s possible you don’t have something set right the eco mode seems worse than normal with brake mode 3 can drive it without using the brakes unless stopping or to get it even higher put it on auto mode then it will stop itself in traffic you just have to press a button for it to go again as the traffic moves, I sit in a hour of traffic per day. I’m waiting for it to drop with the cold weather but yet to need the heating on. Hope that helps Markah2007
They all have a stated battery so the ionic 5 is 84kwh but only 80kwh usable the Scenic is 92kwh with 87 kwh useable. On my test drive in the Ionic I got 4.1m/kw which would be 328miles and in the Scenic i got 3.4m/kw which is 295.8 miles. But since having the ionic my avg is 4.8 after nearly 200miles which is 384 miles but on some journeys usually a town driving it easily goes over an avg of 5.0 which is the 400mile mark which isn’t unheard of on the owners forums, I couldn’t find many people able to get more out of the scenic i think best i saw was 3.8m/kw which would give 330mile range but would be interesting to see how you get on, software updates can make a difference like it did with the skodas
That’s fair enough especially with the discounts they offered at the end of last month knocking another £500 ap off the alpine model i was tempted but I couldn’t get the miles out of the scenic only 3.4 m/kw whereas the ionic I could get 4.1m/kw and getting more than that since getting it so I’m close to 400 miles per charge but was more ap plus 18min fast change is really good. I needed the wider boot for 2 wheel chairs as well rather than the deep boot of the Scenic I did like the google integration but connect apple car play i have most of the same stuff. I didn’t try the Born it was to small only other cars was the Enyaq and mustang but the Skoda dealership wasn’t interested and mustang was lower range.
I ordered on the 17th of this month and found one at the dock they had every colour in stock in the n line model so was quite lucky with it, if i wanted any other model it was 8 weeks
what dealer was this as i placed order in June for ionic 5 ultimate in matte grey and was told October. I’ve now been told march delivery.

Thats because you’ve chose matte grey, apparently according to my dealer matte colours and digital teal have very long waits, they must not make any spares in those colours for some reason, order only however i cant get a black either so i think itsjust luck of the draw
They had digital teal unregistered and a few others where i got mine from ultimate and premium models i just had to wait 2 weeks for mine as its an N line
I took a couple out for test drives and weren’t to bad, road noise was more than all the other cars and trim less quality. I went with the Ionic 5 and got it within 2 weeks picked it up last weekend so i wouldn’t be put off if i was you.

Thank you for the quick reply!! I will ask when I pick my car up this weekend but I’m guessing its already gone through so will after to ring mobility after.
