I’ve seen many people post what they’ve ordered but scattered on separate posts. So thought I’d start this one just to see what everyone’s been ordering, why and what was in your shortlist

Ordered Volvo XC40 Recharge on the 16th July picked it up last Thursday 22nd
Really like it so far
August 28, 2024 at 5:16 pm #287569Ordered the Hyundai ioniq 5 ultimate tech pack.
It was out of the ioniq 5, enyaq 85x, e3008, xc40 recharge, tuscon plug in, sportage plug in.
After viewing all and test driving the enyaq and ioniq 5, we immediately ordered the ioniq 5, just something special about it and the AWD i test drove was just on another level, e3008 not even available to test drive, volvo dealership staff avoided eye contact, sat at desks didn’t offer any help and when i approached them they told me they were busy and to hang on, i stood there looking lost for 10 minutes then walked out, boot was too small anyway and interior from a decade ago so i moved on.
Although now it’s lottery wether we get the ioniq 5

August 28, 2024 at 5:25 pm #287571Ordered the Tucson PHEV in June and collected 3 weeks later and very happy with it.
It was either that or leave the scheme!
August 28, 2024 at 5:43 pm #287573I’ve currently got an ID3 that’s due to go back today after three years, I ordered an ID4 3 months ago and the dealer contacted me yesterday to say it’ll be at the dealers this week and he’s contacted the hand-controls firm to get an installation date from them.
A bigger boot was needed this time so a larger car was required. I looked at the Q4 – very nice but too expensive for me; I thought about the Enyaq – very nice but the dealership is too far away for me; I looked at the Ioniq 5 – a beautiful car but the dealer was a joke and the drive selector location makes hand-control installation a nightmare as far as I could make out. Then the ID4 AP was reduced to £49, after taking off the £750 cashback, my last three cars have all come from this VW dealership and they’ve looked after me superbly, the spec for the Match Pro is more than enough for me so as an overall decision it was easy to make. Yes, there are better cars out there but this works for me and, when all’s said and done, it’s not mine it’s a 3 year lease and having been on Motability since 1993 I know that three years flies by.
Happy motoring, no matter what car you choose! 👀😎
August 28, 2024 at 6:27 pm #287577Took delivery of a Hyundai Tucson Ultimate PHEV 4WD a few weeks back (3 weeks from ordering). This was to replace a 2019 BMW X1 2.0i XLine 4WD. Ideally, I would have liked another petrol SUV but none on the scheme appealed. I would have seriously considered leaving the scheme but my wife (the benefit holder) was less keen. The deciding factor was that my wife now needs a person hoist to get in, so I didn’t fancy having that drilled in to a 3 year old BMW X5 (that was my first choice for a private purchase).
We didn’t want a BEV as we don’t want to have to make charging stops away from home on longer trips, so we decided to try a PHEV as we can charge it in our garage after each use and won’t have any range issues (or need to charge) when away from home. So far so good, but we have a holiday next week so will see what the fuel economy is like with only the one charge (before we leave).
In terms of what else was in the shortlist and why did we discount them in lieu of the Tucson;
New Tiguan – Having had 4 previous Tiguans, we both felt that the new one is a step backwards in interior quality. Didn’t like the infotainment setup and the new model has less standard kit than the old one and option prices are ludicrously expensive (more than the premium brands).
Mazda CX-60 – I liked this, but reviews were patchy (ride quality, engine refinement) and the AP was way too high for what it is, especially when the option packs were removed.
Ford Kuga – I like Fords and have had a few, but build quality wasn’t a patch on the Hyundai. The top spec Tucson doesn’t feel like a step down from the BMW, whereas the Ford felt like two steps down.
Subaru Forrester – Big but everything else woeful, including performance, fuel economy, infotainment and truly appalling rear seats (worst I’ve ever sat in).
BMW X1 – Although not yet on the scheme, I was tempted to wait for the PHEV version to appear (which I suspect it will in time). However, after 3 x 24 hour tests in different iX1s, I feel that BMW have over complicated their previously class leading infotainment system and I just didn’t find it anywhere near as user friendly as older versions. The Hyundai system in their latest generation cars is far more intuitive and, as a result, easier to use when driving.
Whilst I’m not a fan of Hyundai’s exterior styling, the interior of our Ultimate was better than anything else we looked at and the standard kit is frankly amazing and seems to work well so far. Early days though and I’ll want to get a good few thousand miles under my belt before really assessing it.
August 28, 2024 at 9:27 pm #287580Ford Mach E Select Tech +,ordered 26th June due to be available early Oct.
I did have a Ioniq5 ordered and ready to be collected but changed my mind, and previous to that i had a Skoda Enyak Sportline on order but changed my mind.
Up to know i dont think i am changing my mind with the Mach E even tho the Explorer carrot is dangling.
August 28, 2024 at 11:55 pm #287589Ordered an Ioniq 5 Ultimate AWD with tech pack ear,y June.
Test drove Ariya, Mach-e, Enyaq, I.D.4, EV6, and the Sportage Phev and the Ioniq 5 just blew them away for one reason or another. Enyaq was second, followed by EV6. E-3008 and Scenic were on the scheme, but no cars to even sit in, let alone drive. Given recent threads on e-3008 it looks like a bullet dodged. Scenic might be OK, but doubt it would Trump the refreshed Ioniq 5.
Remains to be seen as to what I will get, as the numerous discussions on the forum attest.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
August 29, 2024 at 12:32 am #287593Audi Q45 Quattro e-tron. Ordered end of July, delivery before the end of the decade.
currently driving Mitsubishi PHEV extended to 5 years. Decided to go EV as really like the EV aspect of current car (& we’ve all got to make the transition sooner or later).
My criteria are; ease of manual transfer into car from wheelchair, will the chair fit in the boot without breaking the chair down, and ease of transferring the chair broken down into the passenger seat unaided. Considered the Nissan Ariya (boot too small, otherwise given its range a good option), Toyota bz4x (boot too small, interior a nightmare for transferring a wheelchair through to passenger seat & range a little low), Ioniq 5 (didn’t look at physically, but in the end decided against RWD), VW ID4 (didn’t get past all the negative reviews, though I do like the look of the car), Volvo EX30 (reviews very positive, but in the end small boot, RWD & poorer range were a no-no), Skoda Enyaq (very nearly went for the Sportline 85x, great range, very large boot, but in the end I knew the enormous infotainment screen, which looks like a large vertical iPad rising from the dashboard wouldn’t last a week when I have to manhandle a wheelchair one handed through the cab four times a day, 5 times a week).
So in the end the Q4 because the boot is large, the range is ok and there are no large protruding screens to break (my interior isn’t a pretty sight haver 4 years + of stowing a tilite chair in the passenger seat). I’m hoping I might receive the car by March 25, but wouldn’t put money on it.
blah, blah, blah
August 29, 2024 at 9:23 am #287602Touran match. Build date October.
Back to the future. Our previous and first scheme car was a Touran SEL 1.4 dsg and suited my needs well. Current Allspace SEL has been excellent over 23,000 miles and was tempted to re order, but 9+ months wait and run out model from Mexican factory put me off. Went to dealer to see new Tiguan, but like Glos guy hated the tablet, interior plastic, poor spec and so so reviews. A Touran was lurking at the back of the showroom and once again ticked all the practicality boxes. The low loading height of the huge boot being increasingly important with deteriorating muscular atrophy. Match trim includes all desirable options and is a bargain vs SEL I am adverse to adding expensive options or packs to the now mandatory 3 year lease.
other cars considered: Tucson- good. Forrester, X trail, old Kodiaq. Non starters for various reasons. PHEV & Bev also non starters due cables. I have a charger and drive, but no thanks

August 29, 2024 at 10:22 am #287607I ordered a Peugeot E 3008 in February and I was told a few days ago that it is now logged as ‘in build’ and it will probably arrive at the dealership by the end of September. I’m happy to wait patiently because I already have a similar comfortable car.
August 29, 2024 at 11:55 am #287612Ordered VW ID.3 pro with Dynamic Chassis Control as extra. Also specified model with smaller wheels to get higher profile tyres for softer ride. Comfortable ride which does not harm backbone(s) is top priority. Also wanted an EV because covering only some 2,000 miles p.a. the economics of EV suit us.
Tried a few others but the ID.3 was extremely comfy; nearly as good as Golf. Fairly quick too and rear-wheel drive. Could be quite enjoyable to drive. Build date is last week in Sept. Fingers crossed for delivery for mid November.
Also, nearly forgot, amazingly favourable AP, undercutting everything else by miles. Understand VW have not hit quota for EVs and are trying to shift ’em. Base price, without extras, was £499.
August 29, 2024 at 12:01 pm #287614I ordered a BMW 330e in February. I didn’t want to go all electric this time so I thought I would go in between.

Fabulous car. Would have loved one, but sadly not practical for us. I’m sure you will love it.

1.0 TCe Extreme 5dr CVT as it was in stock and it had good car reviews onlineShould get it anytime from 9th September
Currently driving a Suzuki Swift been a brilliant car with no trouble at all in 3 years
August 30, 2024 at 7:33 am #287633Ordered our Suzuki Across last July, it arrived from Toyota in Japan within 4 weeks, collected the vehicle mid August last year, absolutely love it.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
August 30, 2024 at 8:23 am #287636Have a 2024 e-rifter on order due mid September. Currently have rav4. I need large boot for hoist and Trekinetic gte chair. Can’t afford advance payment on rav4 or anything else with large enough boot now so hence e-rifter shape. It seems most comfortable of that shape. Again would have loved a Touran, RAV4, 5004 etc but so much £!
August 30, 2024 at 12:34 pm #287645August 30, 2024 at 12:38 pm #287644I have ordered A Lexus UX 300e Takumi pack due to pick up in September. I have been looking for ages for a car. I wasn’t going to get a electric car until the car after this one, but the deal was too good to pass up. Wish me luck
August 30, 2024 at 2:19 pm #287647@stitches. Could you have not applied for a grant?
Hi,
I don’t think so. My pension would probably prevent me from applying.
August 30, 2024 at 2:34 pm #287648Hi, I managed to finally order yesterday! I chose a ŠKODA Kamiq Monte Carlo 1.0 auto. Pretty decent first car! I am under 25 so there were slightly less options. Also applied for driving lessons grant as well!!
I wanted an SUV, looked at the electric Mokka and a petrol T-Cross but the Kamiq suited me better. Plus a panoramic roof and orange glittery paint! What’s not to love 😂

August 30, 2024 at 2:40 pm #287650We also ordered a Lexus UX 300e Takumi pack 11 days ago and just had a call to say we can pick it up next week 😀
The power chair just fits in the boot, might get a towel in there as well if we unfold it lol
Our 5 years is up in Jan so we’ve been looking for a while, we’ve got a RAV4 atm which has been flawless but the AP has risen £5k since then…
The Takumi pack is an extra £5150 over the Premium+Pk/18Alloy (which has an AP of £3349) if we were to buy it outright so seems like a bargain to us at £995
We’ll never get the hoist in but rarely use it now and charging is going to be a pita but we don’t go far
We also considered the Kona N-Line S which was at the top of the list for a long time.
August 31, 2024 at 12:20 pm #287697@LeeBe Congratulations, I hope the the car serves you well. What colour did you go for? I went for Sonic white, cream interior
August 31, 2024 at 2:32 pm #287699Hi
Been looking around for a while as I’ve had Tiguan since 2020, on an extended lease. My list was Renault Austral, Nissan Qashqai and Hyundai Tucson/Sportage. After reading many stories about the Hyundai/Sportage PPF exhaust problems with doing low mileges etc, I decided to leave well alone. I loved the look of the Renault Austral but felt a little claustrophobic inside and with the 3 stalks on the back of the steering wheel, I found it awkward to use, shame as I loved it in the red with a black roof! I then looked at the Nissan Qashqai Tekna and liked it. Had a test drive of the E power automatic and I was blown away by how quiet it was even when the engine kicked in! It was a lovely car to drive and is pretty much packed with goodies. The electric driver’s seat with 2 memories is a great addition, with heated front seats & steering wheel & windscreen. Decided to order one there and then. Went for the Bose sound system upgrade and Gun Metallic. This will be my 3rd grey car in a row, they hide the dirt pretty well, that’s my excuse anyway lol! It will arrive mid-October.
