Ive noticed a problem with the original thread, taking me to page 1 of the thread. Assuming its the same problem as my original Brexit thread (stolen by WMC lol) that there were too many pages, i have started another weather thread (stolen from lightbodyae55 lol).

Supposedly a “high” of 16c today here! with a 30-75% chance of rain for today and tomorrow 🙂
Not that I’m complaining I really don’t do well in hot weather!
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
July 1, 2025 at 9:30 am #307509Heatwave update: estimate of 28/29C (BBC forecast 25C) is way out. Now doing 31C and still climbing. No wind so feels hotter. Going into full Panama-hat/crumbly-bloke gardening mode. Chilled water in fridge, seats in shade/Will likely take all day to water the greedy baskets, boxes and pots.
July 1, 2025 at 9:54 am #307512Overcast and warm, would love some river fishing (rivers now open)…
Maybe sometime soon…😔
July 2, 2025 at 11:02 am #307641Lovely,sunny,pleasant,calm peaceful, not to hot slight breeze..
July 3, 2025 at 2:18 am #30775702.15 warm, can’t sleep, slight breeze and so quiet, dark & still..
Iced water, slice of squeezed lemon, out side on the bench..
July 4, 2025 at 9:26 am #307816Met Office site says 18C; garden thermo’ says 21C.Should be clear and bright all day with a max of 24/25C. Not unpleasant must make the most of gardening today because forecast says it’ll tip it down for a couple of days from tomorrow.
July 5, 2025 at 9:04 am #307883Another bleak day on the cards it’s been like winter here 😞 for the past couple of days.

Barely 19C, grey as hell, damn windy too (40mph gusts) going to be rain pretty soon. Shouldn’t complain, I suppose, having had Mediterranean standards recently – AND it seems we’ll go all heatwavery again from Tuesday next week.
July 5, 2025 at 10:22 am #307890Started raining through the night and hasn’t stopped 17c
July 5, 2025 at 10:36 am #307891Very grey last day and today, a little cooler but more muggy (humid) with a strong breeze. Looks like it’s going to rain but doesn’t

In the real world, sunny and bright at 24.5c so no surprise there then!

Stonking great thunderstorm trundling along the coast; thunder rumbling constantly; hail crashing down. Everything v loud and wet. Only happy thing is the lawn which is lapping it all up.
July 6, 2025 at 5:30 pm #307954Well it’s mainly been a day of rain here. And yes, we need it, as every thing is bone dry. So a good soaking is welcome in that respect. Temps are cooler than last week thankfully.

July 7, 2025 at 9:02 am #307974A bit chilly this morning… 15C, with a forecast of 21C max. Some light rain but nothing like last night’s storm. Chucked it down in early hours too. Should stop and clear (a bit) by 11/12.
Grass/lawns are all very happy, thank you, and have gone from baked yellow to proper green overnight. Casualties are the hanging baskets and window boxes. Their flowers took a right hammering from torrential rain and hailstones. Urgent and extensive dead-heading is order of the day.
July 7, 2025 at 9:56 am #307977OK day so far, but quite windy 15c
July 7, 2025 at 10:09 am #307979Very bright, looking like a very good day ahead. Forecast is for sunny spells and 18*C.
I planted my hanging baskets 3/4 weeks ago and they are just starting to flower. Note to self buy pre planted hanging baskets next year.

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.July 7, 2025 at 10:16 am #30798020c today with a splash of rain forecast, rest of the next 14 days or so mainly dry and low to mid 20’s.
That said, it is the BBC so who knows what I’ll get!, I can almost guarantee rain and winds on the 23rd and 27th as I’m out playing on MoD ranges those days!!.

July 7, 2025 at 11:02 am #307981@Brydo Getting pre-planted baskets is, I reckon, the best way. Doesn’t cost that much more than buying plants separately and the baskets usually have moisture pads inside which helps. Tried DIY planting baskets one year and lost about a third of plants – probably because we had to raise them outside (no greenhouse) whereas the basket people have acres of glass.
July 7, 2025 at 8:25 pm #307999@Tharg there so behind where they should be I haven’t even hung them up 😞

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.July 8, 2025 at 8:30 am #308002@Brydo Ah, timing of planting etc., another good reason to buy pre-planted baskets. The producers know exactly when the right plants should be started. Yours are looking OK though, even if a bit late. Keep ’em watered and feed the greedy little sods. You’ll be surprised at just how quick they’ll bulk up. Mine have tripled in size in a few weeks. Will try to get some snaps on here soon.
Weather is heading for heatwave-land again. 20C right now. Will probably make 25C max. Bright, clear and hardly any wind. Much watering will be done. Maybe even some mowing too – our lawn has gone from a greyish yellow to nearly full-scale green virtually overnight.
July 8, 2025 at 9:44 am #308004Gentle breeze pressent with patches of blue sky peaking through the stratocumulus covering. Whether we will be blessed by a wave of heat later is to be seen 15c.

Pretty much the same here after a coolish start, but now warming up. Highs of 22c

Previous car:Peugeot 308 GT Premium 1.2 Pure tech Petrol.July 9, 2025 at 10:30 am #30807922C right now. Should go to about27/28C later. Bright. Clear.Light wind so feels hotter than it is. Much watering again needed, especially since we finally finished planting baskets and pots yesterday. So feeding is on the cards too.
