Ive noticed a problem with the original thread, taking me to page 1 of the thread. Assuming its the same problem as my original Brexit thread (stolen by WMC lol) that there were too many pages, i have started another weather thread (stolen from lightbodyae55 lol).

pretty good here in derbyshire quite sunny but a nippy breeze at times.
managed to wash the car, major job as it hadnt been done for 5 or 6 months i reckon. 3.5 hours between sitting on a camping chair needless to say backs in bits but it was needed and took 2 goes once with snow foam and that didnt look good so reverted to sponge and shampoo with a pressure washer rinse.
it kills me but it is very satisfying i wouldnt let it be done elsewhere. hopefully the weather stays and i can do the interior tommorrow andd catch any patches ive missed. lol.
April 6, 2025 at 8:32 am #304008Doing 10C now, 16C promised. Bright, clear, sunny. Another perfect English Spring day. Not quite sunbathing, @POPS but certainly shorts and T-shirts.
April 6, 2025 at 8:50 am #304009Good morning weather watchers. Today we have clear blue skies with a light breeze and temp of 7C. Forcast of max temp of 13C from noon onwards. Falling to 2C in the late evening with clear skies.
Enjoy the day folks.

April 6, 2025 at 2:03 pm #304020Yep, Suuny, breezy and 10c!

I’m recovering after a night out, Utilita Arena (Newcastle) with my eldest and his partner to see Jeff Wayne’s War of The Worlds. Good show, lady playing Carrie wasn’t a great singer though. Singer playing Nathaniel my son wanted to see wasn’t well but the understudy did a very good job.
For about £90 a ticket I was expecting a decent seat, position was good but the seat was hard plastic with no legroom and ended up with my knees pressed into a large metal bar for over 2hrs. Prices were of course stupid! £10 for a pint of cheap beer etc. so we didn’t bother.
All in all it was a good night out, my son had been promising to take me for years and finally managed to get tickets booked last year. Now just have to finish cleaning/tidying the house and packing for my other son to come and cat-house sit while I’m away on a 2 week Med cruise on Tuesday. Hopefully I won’t fall over this time or have it cancelled!.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
April 7, 2025 at 6:26 am #304038Up early this morn, was still dark but dry hopefully another sunny one….Phaedra sounds great, have a great break 🕶️🌞🍻🍹
April 7, 2025 at 8:27 am #304040Clear, sunny, getting warmer (9C now). Supposed to go to 13C but I reckon it’ll be a bit higher. Much lighter winds making it more pleasant.
April 7, 2025 at 11:00 am #304044Lovely day if a bit cool this morning early on. 6C but now risen to 11 C and still rising.

16*C bright sunshine, not a cloud in the sky and no breeze.
Im renewing the decking and support system, it’s over a metre off the ground. Absolutely knackered, I’m 65 and really feeling it 😩
Going back out in five to cut up the old decking in to pieces short enough to go in to the car, then off to the tip.
The new decking has just arrived and it looks great. I won’t be staining it a colour this time, I’m looking for a clear protective coating anyone any suggestions?

@Brydo decking oil or protector though I prefer oil, at least untill I got lazy in old age and replaced with composite decking 😂April 7, 2025 at 9:55 pm #304052Kezo I considered composite but the price is really high plus I had seen online people complaining of the colour fading over the years so plumbed for timber.

Looks like I will be doing this too, it was my covid lockdown project and I can’t believe it needs doing again, the window cleaner is okay just a bit of a fright!

Depends what and where you buy to how it fades, as it looses oils and lighter colours are better however, lifespan can be double that of hardwood decking and 3-4 times that of softwood decking, added to no maintainance over the years.
Not as sunny today 13c
April 9, 2025 at 9:38 am #304082Same again. Bright, sunny and warm. 10C at the moment; heading for 16C I reckon. AND it is now Proper Spring because the Jersey Royals have arrived at last (Sainsbury’s). As good as ever and consumed last night with pots of butter and mint with lightly poached fresh salmon. 😊
April 9, 2025 at 1:36 pm #304087Better thay yesterday – sunny 15c
April 9, 2025 at 4:52 pm #304088I’m almost getting complacent with this great weather. I’ve been building a new decking area and don’t even look at the forecast each day. I just assume it’s going to be sunny and, “hey presto”, it is.
Joking apart I’m in bits, every muscle in my body is screaming. Why didn’t I just get a joiner in to do it, because I’m a tight Scot that’s why 😂 is there any other type lol.

April 10, 2025 at 8:27 am #304096Deja Vu all over again 😊 Bright, some cloud but clearing, 9C. Forecast for 13C. Hmmmm
Yesterday started warm but went down from early p,m. Unpleasantly cold by evening. Hope for better today.
April 10, 2025 at 11:54 am #304103Similar to yesterday 14c.
Its going to get worse, as we come to the weekend according to the met office. Oh well it was good while it lasted lol.
April 10, 2025 at 4:18 pm #304118Boiling out there, full sunshine, 17*C and no wind.
Just in getting juice, a wee break from the decking.
