Matt TI’ve just had a call from my BMW dealership to inform me that the i4 is coming on the scheme he’ll know more on Monday or Tuesday. I had an extended test drive in the active tourer schedule this morning but I’ve told him I’ll wait he’s arranged a test drive of the i4 for Tuesday so he must be in the know.

Lord MucI went for a “Dubai Special” pearl white with oyster leather. Lol. Grey side trims. I think i am getting gloss black dash trims, I might swap that for silver/metallic. I have seen an aftermarket rear spoiler (black) for around £70. I will ask Marshalls if they can match.

Lord MucThe Marshalls advert is unequivocal, as it says, orders placed and registered before September. (I assume that’s being allocated a number plate/vin number from the dlva to your car whilst it is being built). There is nothing about taking delivery. They probably need the cars “registered” to get the quarter year dealer bonus. They have done this before, with free APs, I nearly got an I3 a couple of years ago.

August 10, 2023 at 12:56 pm #229687According to the BMW website all orders of electric cars come with a free 1year subscription to Ionity plus, has anyone who has ordered one been able to confirm this yet ?

i currently pay £11.25 for my subscription through Hyundai and on that it brought it down to 29p inc VAT
so maybe BMW is ex VAT, either way it’s really cheap for a 350kW charger

In all fairness, you would struggle to find any dealership that will negotiate via email or phone. As a number of us have said in this thread, in order to stand any chance of getting a different dealership to match the Marshalls offer you need to physically go in. If that still doesn’t work, then a trip to Marshalls becomes a no brainer.

Matt THi has anyone received an order number yet so they can track their build? If so how long after signing the new vehicle contract?

MikeI just ordered an i4 yesterday and likewise my invoice has active cruise control and high beam assist listed but after a bit of Googling I think they both need activating via the bmw store at a cost. The car has the hardware but you need to pay to unlock it

BimmerCode is a very useful app that costs about £32 for the lite version and around £50 for the ull version. Its a handy coding app for instances like this and far cheaper for activating these features ?
August 11, 2023 at 11:29 am #229764
Lord Muc@mike, yup, its the new way, OTA upgrades, i have them on the GC. You pay to unlock. I wonder if someone will hack it, like they have with tesla?
August 11, 2023 at 1:56 pm #229799
JohnThanks Kezo will have a look at that app as would like the adaptive cruise control if possible.

PaulThe online configurator states on the ambient lighting section, the footwell lighting is not included for the grand coupe.Shame looks nice on the utube vids
August 11, 2023 at 5:23 pm #229830Is it a one off payment for these upgrades or can you add them for a short period, for example heated seats for a cold snap or active cruise for your driving holiday?

It would be a one off if done via BMW or it would get expensive.

There will be loads of useful info/help on Bimmer forums. You will probably find if there is a member local they will do it for a few bob if you were unsure or didn’t want to buy the equipment 🙂

Fish in the panAnyone know if it’s possible to cancel orders after placing them – I.e. if the delivery date is taking too long. and if any fees are associated?
August 13, 2023 at 2:31 pm #230024
Matt<p style=”text-align: left;”>You’re free to cancel the order. Only thing to be aware of is some dealers try it on with your advance payment, if you’ve paid some already it may have gone down as a deposit. Motability say this is between you and the dealer. I’ve found explaining to the dealer and requesting it be refunded is usually all it takes, most are good like that.</p>
August 13, 2023 at 4:51 pm #230039Has anyone up here in the north near Yorkshire been able to secure a decent test drive yet. Been to 2 dealers now and all they offer is a 15 min accompanied test drive around the block. I don`t mind driving an hour or so to the right dealer, some are just downright rude once you mention Motability and shun you off.

Lord MucYes you are free to cancel, up to the point of entering your pin. However, you may lose the money on any extras you have paid for at that stage, so just make sure, it’s the right car for you, or you can argue your case. deposits should be ok, and should definitely be refunded, if delivery is taking an unreasonable time, eg. you were told Dec, but now July, you would be within your normal consumer rights to cancel without penalty.
August 16, 2023 at 10:48 am #230241For those who have recently ordered, what are delivery times like.
August 16, 2023 at 10:58 am #230245Looks like delivery is a min 4-6 months, Currently looking at New Year to Easter
