with Q2 upon us Motability has announced they will be producing their pricing as usual on the 1st April, although you can’t order until the government restrictions are relaxed.
with the current economic climate we could see some changes, hopefully even some new additions filtering on the scheme. With Q2 starting next week I know any advance changes may not make a difference at present but the thread is for reference and pricing for when we can use the information.

Carl<p style=”text-align: left;”>I agree with you brydo….</p>
Think with unemployment likely to rocket and a pending global recession, are people going to rush out and buy new cars?? That seems doubtful to me…..Lers hope mobility gives us a good deal this year!!
March 31, 2020 at 9:53 am #110689I wonder what ‘fantasy Motability’ will bring to the table tomorrow.

March 31, 2020 at 11:38 am #110706Many years ago when these car we worth virtually nothing, I paid £400 for a 1964 Mk 1 Lotus Cortina (it was a basket case, but I loved it), £800 for a 1966 a nice Mk 1 Lotus Cortina and £500 for a RS2000 which need a lot of welding work. Shame they would be worth a fortune now, however, in reality they were unreliable, bone shakers and we look back through rose tinted spectacles.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Selenium greyMarch 31, 2020 at 12:16 pm #110713Looks like VW are not issuing prices etc for Q2:
The Motability Scheme is currently closed to New Applications and also for the Handover of any vehicles currently on order.
Whilst this is the case we will not be publishing any scheme avail ability or pricing information. We will be reviewing this position with Motability and the information will be released when the scheme restrictions are lifted by Motability.

March 31, 2020 at 12:50 pm #110717From Motability:
The cars and prices will be updated on the website from just after midnight.
Everything has already been arranged/negotiated with the manufacturers, which is why this is still able to go ahead.

BrydoGood news, i think.
Lets see what tomorrow brings.
March 31, 2020 at 1:00 pm #110719I’ve just been surfing for any pre price changes but no heads up yet, maybe some at close of business so to speak, f the prices were agreed before the lock down then I expect it to be a bit disappointing, but once things are back up and running there should be some great individual dealer deals kicking about.

BluecloudUKThis quote was taken from the Motability section on the Volkswagen website.
The Government announcements regarding COVID-19 are having a major impact on the Motability Scheme. All of our retailer showrooms are now closed meaning they are unable to accept any new orders, manage handovers or car returns. In addition, as Motability are unable to accept any new orders, they have also not updated the prices for the Motability Scheme that would normally become available on 1 April 2020. We are of course in touch with Motability and will advise when this changes.

March 31, 2020 at 6:53 pm #110761Looks like an 11th hour change of plan:
‘As we are unable to accept any orders, the latest prices for the Motability Scheme will not be launched as usual on 1 April 2020. We are monitoring the situation and will advise when this changes.’March 31, 2020 at 7:26 pm #110769

BluecloudUKI’m not a conspiracy theorist, honest. However, given that nothing at all has been prepared for Q2, it does beg the question, “How much is the Government telling the public?”
I understand that the Government told us that the initial restriction would only last 3 weeks and would be reviewed, but for an NFP organisation (charity or otherwise) to be allowed to miss a 3 months period suggests that large (favoured) corporates are being given more information.
March 31, 2020 at 9:53 pm #110783It’s not that nothing has been prepared – it’s just that it’s not going to be published tomorrow.
Many companies have already furloughed a lot of their staff, so it is quite feasible that neither Motability or the manufacturers have had the usual staff in place to get the lists ready for Q2.
March 31, 2020 at 10:19 pm #110786Seriously, I doubt they have given time off to the one chimp they get to maintain the Motability website!

AnonymousThis message is on the Motability website:-
COVID-19 Update 31/03/2020: As we are unable to accept any new orders, the latest prices for the Motability Scheme will not be launched on 1 April and our Car Search tool will be unavailable. If your lease is coming to an end, we will extend it to keep you mobile. See our FAQs for further updates.

It’s clearly not only a matter of uploading fresh information to the website. That’s just the cherry on the bun.
