It always was off your list. Just glad we went to Brighton Audi, best decision we made. Cant fault the car, easily the best car we’ve had on Motability.
Which one did you get?
March 29, 2024 at 7:37 pm #270372S Line 45 Standard car with two tone alloys which the Dealer didn’t charge for.
Didn’t bother with the tech pack, the standard LED’s are more than good enough and what I’ve read on the forums the uprated sound system isn’t that noticeable. Could get a nice home surround system for £1500 and its mine to keep.

Nice 🙂
I enquired and was told I could have Sport quattro suv or an S Line Coupe. I didn’t want the Sport but, wanted a S Line Coupe quatttro which wasn’t on the scheme, so basically gambled hoping for Q2, hoping it would join. It hasn’t lol!
Hope you enjoy yours 🙂

I will see what unfolds next week but, won’t be putting silly money down 🙂
March 30, 2024 at 9:28 am #270395Thanks Dave.
That suggests a possible reduction on the Enyaq. That site says the coupe starts from £1499, which is £500 less than now…

Q4 of 2023 the 85 Edition was £1900 AP…..then Q1 2024 £1999…. and now Q2 2024 £1499…so it is food for thought for the other Enyaks coming down. ??? @MB5
March 30, 2024 at 11:07 am #270401Doesn’t look good if you were waiting on the Kodiaq

The new Kodiak isn’t available to order yet so hopefully once it’s released it will appear on the Motability scheme. (At a reasonable AP too)

E-308 SW GT – £7,999 AP

Hi all,
The all-new E-3008 GT will have a £499 AP, down from £2499, it’s a £49,650 car!
Have been wanting to post this since Thursday, but couldn’t login, so re-registered today.
March 30, 2024 at 2:16 pm #270425@BearHardy Whilst I wouldn’t want one personally, I agree that’s a fantastic offer. Everyone has a different interpretation of what they consider the ‘best value car on the scheme’ to be but, in my eyes, it’s simply a case of working out what the total outlay is (AP plus sacrificed benefits) and expressing that as a percentage of the list price. The outlay on that car is £12.5k (£499 AP plus £12k sacrificed benefits) which represents just 25% of the vehicle price. Many cars on the scheme now cost over 40% of the cost of buying the vehicle, so the E-3008 GT must now be the one to beat!
Motability website now confirming that Quarter 2 prices will be released on Monday as predicted (even though it’s a Bank Holiday), but may be later in the day. As always, we can expect errors and omissions for the first day or two ?
March 30, 2024 at 2:27 pm #270426That e-3008 gt is tempting me away from my edition 60 enyaq estate on order, anyone know the lead times on the 3008?
March 30, 2024 at 2:33 pm #270427VW Q2 prices from your friendly Facebook user.
While I’m glad that the Touran is back on the scheme, those APs are far too high for such an aging car. If they were more reasonable (under £2.5k), I would happily exchange my Mother’s QQ in a heartbeat.

@Glos Guy I use the same method as you to work out the best value, but then I give hybrids a slight percentage penalty/handicap & electric cars an even larger penalty/handicap because hybrids are slightly overpriced & electric cars are massively overpriced (due to battery costs), for example; a BMW X1 xDrive23i xLine (0-62mph 7.1sec) costs £36,890 whilst the BMW X1 xDrive25e xLine (0-62mph 6.8sec) costs £44,670 & the BMW X1 xDrive30e xLine (0-62mph 5.6sec) costs £46,940 in comparison to the BMW iX1 xDrive30 xLine (0-62mph 5.6sec) which costs £54,125.
I use 0-62mph times to find like-for-like comparables rather than horsepower or torque figures because electric cars need that extra power to compensate for the extra weight of the batteries.
Even if one can charge at home, one would never make up the huge premium one pays for an Electric Vehicle if bought at list price, and if one can’t charge at home, then an Electric Vehicle is more expensive per mile than an Diesel or Petrol equivalent.
We did consider the new Ford Tourneo Custom Titanium X Luxe, but it’s very expensive (but considering the list price I think APs were attractive, especially for the 170 diesel auto) & the matrix headlights aren’t available to order until summer & this vehicle won’t be on the scheme in Q2 unfortunately (from what I was told yesterday). The diesel isn’t very refined, but has a 2.5t towing capacity for our caravan. The 2.5l petrol hybrid has only around 200Nm torque compared to the 400Nm one gets with the diesel, therefore the towing capacity is reduced to 1.85t. The full-electric version has over 400Nm & a 2t towing capacity, but it’s not available to order, and towing & charging don’t go well together at the moment. Also the cost of rapid charging is more than twice the cost of diesel per mile:
I agree the E-3008 GT is the one to beat now in terms of value for money, but unfortunately it’s not suitable for us, and also another huge minus about the E-3008 GT is that leather or leather-substitute isn’t standard; it’s a £1,600 option (but it is Nappa leather & includes ventilated massaging front seats) & the surround camera is optional as well rather than standard. On top, the towing capacity is only 1.25t, the rear headroom & legroom is very limited, the boot is too small, especially with the seats folded down; it isn’t big enough, even when compared to the Mazda CX-60 or KIA Sportage.
Additionally, the E-3008 GT doesn’t seem such good value when compared to the 3008 GT Hybrid which has a list price of £38,150, as opposed to £49,650.

@Glos Guy
I think the last 6 quarters Motability has released the new prices on a weekend or a bank holiday.
I remember Q3 2023, Mazda had put all the MX-5s & CX-5s (including the nice top-spec Takumi) on the scheme for very attractive Advance Payments, but then just a few days later I think all the MX-5s & the CX-5 Takumi were removed from the scheme, and the rest of the CX-5s had their Advance Payments increased significantly.
In general, Mazda’s Advance Payments are too high, they’re physically attractive cars I think & have good HUDs as standard, but it doesn’t make sense to get them on the scheme; they aren’t good value unfortunately.
On a different note, I think Mazda’s Soul Red Crystal is probably the best paint offered by any manufacturer as part of their standard offering/range of colours.
March 30, 2024 at 3:46 pm #270439Personally I still think the Enyaq is unbeatable if you need space. Imho towing with an EV is never gonna be practical well until they build induction roads anyway.
Towing hybrid or straight ICE has gotta be the way to go. However the economics still work that for towing a caravan I’d either hire or buy something to tow for that holiday then get rid it’d still be cheaper.
Thanks to a small solar install even this time of year our electricity bill is now down to £9 a week or so on Agile (currently exporting 1.5kwh at 15p/kWh) that’s without an EV at the moment but even with an EV I’ll charge it at under 15p/kWh at home or less on sunny days.
0-60 has zero importance for me without a big enough boot and room for 4 adults. This is why it’s so important to have these 900 odd cars on the scheme everyone gets to pick what’s important to them.
