Email from the council this morning, cable gully paid for (£300) and it’s being fitted Nov. 29th.
Rang my HA for an update on permission to have the charger fitted and had to leave a message.
So that leaves the HA and Ohme to get sorted out.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

It wouldn’t be ideal but yes if I have to. I park my car to the left to allow space for my neighbours (to the right of my house) family to park when they visit, he has his own space further over to the right (looking at the front of my house) at 90 degrees to mine, there are 4 spaces there to park in but a couple of the neighbours from further down the road park in 2 of them.
I’d need to run the cable across my front door path so I’d be looking at a 15m cable.

December 11, 2023 at 5:21 pm #251312I wasn’t expecting you to climb a ladder mate, just for a picture, especially with your bad fingers ?
Push for where it suits you in the first instance but, have a back up plan 🙂
December 11, 2023 at 5:31 pm #251314I should have been an awkward old bugger and parked at the other side then I could have fitted the Kerbo in front of my path and used a standard cable!!!! Bit late now though!

December 11, 2023 at 5:41 pm #251317Can you edit the picture, to remove your street name or just delete it 🙂
I’m sure running cable underneath you door cill from your meter box to where you want the charger, is no more than 5m and well within a standard install. Even running the cable across the little pitch roof and down to charger won’t be much more cable. Mota allow up to 15m.

December 12, 2023 at 1:04 pm #251375Just had an email from ProEV offering an install date of Jan 16th.
I have to confirm within 24hrs or lose the slot.
I’ve emailed my HA to let them know, hopefully they’ll finally make a decision at tomorrow’s meeting.

December 12, 2023 at 1:08 pm #251377@Phaedra, I hope they make a decision and let you know in time.

December 12, 2023 at 1:36 pm #251383Might possibly be worth agreeing to the 16th as you could always cancel & rebook closer to the date.
If your HA doesn’t get back to you untill Thursday agreeing a charger can be fitted, you will be kicking yourself. It also gives your HA time to fit one more meeting in if needed at the beginning of January 🙂

Great!
How about letting your HA know ProEV has confirmed booking – afterall they did request a planned installation date?
December 12, 2023 at 4:26 pm #251415I did, I emailed them about 1pm, very surprised as I just got just got a reply giving me permission to go ahead with the install. They’ll be sending me a full copy of the formal permission when it’s done.
ProEV have confirmed the install date so it’s all set to go ahead!, only taken about 4 months but eventually got there 🙂

December 18, 2023 at 1:04 pm #251701Another small step in the right direction, got an email from Northern Powergrid wanting to arrange the upgrade of my fuse carrier if needed.
Spent about 20mins on hold and they’re going to call me back!

Your DNO (Northern Power) should have a record of what size cut out is fitted but, never the less things are moving forward and something to be thankful for I guess.
If you have a meterbox key you can check yourself. As a guess from the age of your house you probably have 80A maybe 100A. From memory Clancy Docwra act as the service provider for NP.
Who’s ringing you back?

December 18, 2023 at 8:37 pm #251742The general enquiries team I was told to ring in the email. They did ring back at 2mins to 5!.
Said they had no idea and I have to phone the connections team on a different number tomorrow! They should be able to give me an appointment or some info to ring the first lot back again!

Its all happening mate and will soon be the end of the saga 🙂
December 22, 2023 at 7:59 pm #252089I do wonder
Why are so many Depts in the UK run just like Dads Army
What a faff you have had to go through after all yours is a simple electric charger installation by a sparky followed by a hole cut out of the pavement
Its not exactly rocket science tbh
Such a simple request being dragged out and treated as if you are actually asking to launch a blooming rocket
Well done for pushing through with this even though I suspect in doing so and having to jump through so many hoops your disability/ability was never ever taken into consideration
Best Wishes

Agree in principle although
Decisions based on profit seem to be able to be quickly made

December 24, 2023 at 12:48 am #252184January 12, 2024 at 3:05 pm #254833Hi all, Kerbo Charge here ?
We’re pleased to see some of you have had a successful install and are benefitting from easy home charging with our through-pavement channel.
For those looking to get Kerbo Charge available in their area, please submit your local council on our get started page as we’re currently working on prioritisation based on demand.
Our aim is to get approval from all UK local authorities, but in the meantime, spreading the word about our solution and rallying to councils is the quickest way to ensure this.
We want to make home charging accessible to as many people as possible!
