Email from the council this morning, cable gully paid for (£300) and it’s being fitted Nov. 29th.
Rang my HA for an update on permission to have the charger fitted and had to leave a message.
So that leaves the HA and Ohme to get sorted out.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

This is amazing news! Hopefully the HA can pull their finger out soon 🙂
"Come on BYD Seal!"November 15, 2023 at 3:42 pm #243788That’s great news but a shame you’ve still got to go through all that effort just to get your charger fitted.

November 15, 2023 at 3:51 pm #243793Ohme are going to be the biggest problem I think. They were adamant they can’t fit a charger as the cable would go over public access. I spoke to KerboCharge this afternoon and none of the installs they’ve done had any problem with it using the gully.

November 15, 2023 at 4:01 pm #243800Excellent news mate 🙂
November 16, 2023 at 10:26 am #243958Another email from my HA asking where it would be fitted and wanting a copy of the original adaptation request form I sent them back in August, I think they may have lost it as I’d attached a photo showing where I’d like it fitted!!.

November 16, 2023 at 11:20 am #243972Maybe movement re installation this year yet 🙂
Keep peddling!
November 16, 2023 at 11:32 am #243974@Kezo Second email asking what the current of the charger was and they may have to send a sparky out to check my mains. Told them it was a standard 7.4kW 32A single phase and pointed them to the Ohme site.
Everything they’ve asked me for was in the original form I emailed to them in August.
But here’s hoping!
Meanwhile, I’m still looking at alternatives in case my Enyaq is cancelled, Ionic 5 or back to the Audi Q4, I did like the look of the Smart #1 🙂 get’s excellent reviews and is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I’ll have to arrange a lift to go look at the Ionic and #1, unfortunately the Smart dealer is in Newcastle about 15 miles away.

November 16, 2023 at 11:37 am #243976Are you sure you’re not dealing with my hospital, this is sounding quite familiar ?
The paperwork, repetition and inability to get things done I mean, not the voltage.
"Come on BYD Seal!"November 16, 2023 at 11:39 am #243977Sounds like my hospital! now on my 3rd cast and back again next Wednesday to plastic surgery dept. and no doubt cast number 4 🙂

November 16, 2023 at 4:09 pm #244074And now a phone call!
HA’s electrician is coming out at 10am tomorrow to check my supply as I want “a charger or something fitted” 🙂
Told him I’d make sure he gets a nice hot cup of tea or coffee 😀

Rather odd really, his he going to notify the DNO if the cutout needs changing or leave it to the installer as should 🙂
I use to like getting offered a hot drink and a bacon or sausage butty ?
November 16, 2023 at 11:26 pm #244156No butty I’m afraid, I can’t walk as far as the nearest shop and we’ve had no bus service for almost 3 weeks.
I have Tesco delivering tomorrow afternoon though, it’s costing me a sm#all fortune as their min order is now £50.

November 17, 2023 at 1:02 am #244159A cuppa along with politeness is more than enough mate.
I can remember doing inspection & test certs for then council properties. The older generation lets say mostly came with a cuppa along biscuits or cake I ended up pitting on weight over 3-4 months the job took. At the other end of the scale youd get the younger generation screaming at their kids, whilst the cat or dog is peeing on the carpet and not even an offer of a glass of water. Mind you I wouldn’t have wanted one anyway. Then there were those who offered you more than you bargained for!
I was never a fan of domestic work, new builds were fine however I spent most of my working life after finnishing my apprenticeship at the Michelin, in mainly the commercial sector.
November 17, 2023 at 10:27 am #244213Been and gone!
Looked in the box outsid and said yes, should be OK. Didn’t check the fuse rating or anything else. He thought they’d attach something to the consumer unit or on the outside wall. And that was it!.

November 17, 2023 at 10:40 am #244214?? excellent!

He thought! who did they send a gardner and what was he thinking ?
Anyhow ? mate
November 17, 2023 at 12:33 pm #244236I did wonder 🙂
Also said even though there was room in the box nobody was allowed to fit anything as the back board inside it belongs to the DNO.

The DNO will allow an 100A isolator to be fittet, if there isn’t already on in place (if you have a smart meter one would have been fitted) . The DNO will also allow Henley blocks to be fitted enabling meter tails to be split, to allow installation of the charger and the connection of a CT clamp fitted to the live tail, to monitor total house load.
Clearly the guy has led a sheltered life 🙂
As long as you get permission say nothing and just let the fitters get on with it. If Ohme cause you any bother with Kerbo, show them evidence of chargers that have already been fitted and the council/Kerbo webpages. Any issues just tell them your having a drive put in 🙂
Hows your hand?
November 17, 2023 at 1:26 pm #244265@Kezo Indeed 🙂
Hopefully I’ll get permission soon, I do have smart meters. I have the feeling Ohme are going to be a PITA 🙂
Without the charger I think I read I can’t get Octopus to switch me to IO?
Back at the plastic surgery dept. next Wednesday morning, so plaster off, check the hand and more than likely yet another plaster back on 🙁

You need to fight Ohme if this happens – It has been approved by your local council for on street charging using Kerbo….
Lets hope it doesn’t need another cast and they fit a removeable one if needed. Update us tomorrow 🙂
November 23, 2023 at 6:22 pm #249787Update, got a call from my HA this morning, apologising for the delays. Everything is looking good but apparently I’m their Guinea Pig!. First tenant to have a charger fitted!, so they’re having to write policy etc. as they go.
She asked if the car was still due in Jnuary, I said yes, in reality it depends on what Motability do to the Enyaq order!. So hopefully permission letter will be here soon. Just got to persuade Ohme to fit it!!.

November 23, 2023 at 6:34 pm #249789This is great news! Glad to hear there’s some lateral thinking at your HA
"Come on BYD Seal!"November 23, 2023 at 6:37 pm #249790Progress!! Great news and on the same day the Enyaq comes back on the scheme. Are the stars finally aligning for you? I hope so.
