Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

The Sportsline now has Illuminated Tech-Deck, Area view camera, Head-up display, Canton Sound System as standard. The Maxx package adds the other bits listed and been told that DCC is nice but doesn’t make a huge difference and if the car is in an accident you won’t get the cost of any extras refunded.
February 27, 2025 at 12:05 pm #298492Vieuxtemps, you are absolutely right, having just checked the standard equipment on the sportline. I’m not sure why they have some of the standard equipment in the maxx package information when it is as you say standard. And like you say this £1700 would be a total loss should the car be written off for whatever reason.
February 27, 2025 at 12:12 pm #298498After writing off the scenic I now think twice before adding extras.
February 27, 2025 at 7:43 pm #298537Got a provisional build week now of week 11 so hopefully should firm up in the next week.
February 27, 2025 at 8:27 pm #298542In standard equipment looks like all you lose over current Sportline compared to new 2025 Sportline is rear heated seats,,,,but you gain head up display, canton sounds system, massage function drivers seat, area view camera 360.
February 27, 2025 at 10:03 pm #298544New Enyaq brochure available today… https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/c72dfee1-ab36-40e0-b1be-9c99293156c2
February 28, 2025 at 2:08 am #298547I’m actually considering handing my current car back,to get the massage front seat and the 360 camera, would be greatly beneficial to me to have those features
Anyone tell me what happens when you do this,do Motability let you order another car while keeping your current car until delivery day…i know it would cost an early handback fee.
February 28, 2025 at 3:07 am #298548I’m pretty sure motability would go bonkers if you go that. Early hand backs can be done when a car is no longer suitable for your needs. If you hand it back then order the same car…..
Massage seat could be added via a seat cover I’ve had them in the past sure I get the 360 camera but it’s not the difference between being able to drive the car or not.
I’m not saying don’t ask but what I suspect will be the answer. Good luck either way
February 28, 2025 at 2:46 pm #298576I went to place the order today and to discuss the AP, £2299 with no movement, it is what it is …… Ok what about front and rear dashcam 4k resolution, I cheekily said zero cost would be nice the dealer came back with £550 less 15% ….. not very interesting. I’ve got another dealer to speak with and see what they can do!
February 28, 2025 at 5:27 pm #298589Tbh the AP is the AP 99% of the time especially for agency model dealers like Skoda they don’t have the ability to make deals. Also they can sell every car they make so whats their incentive to do a deal.
Unless you can find a dealer online doing something and use that I seriously doubt you’ll get any movement on a brand new model that they simply can’t make enough of right now.
If you want a deal on the AP and are a low or no wage household and can justify that model you could ask for a grant might get you what you want, it did for me hot me a grant for an 85x January 2024 I ordered.
February 28, 2025 at 6:01 pm #298593Hi Rich44, thanks for your input, it’s pretty much what I thought, have to say I don’t know anything about grants …. I am retired on state pension and for my location I do need 4×4.
February 28, 2025 at 6:31 pm #298599Just tried the grant route and told that unless we live up a mountain wouldn’t look at it even if we wanted powerlift boot they’d rather we got a berlingo and paid to adapt it.
Dashcam on Nextbase much cheaper and then I’m paying £99 to have it fitted by the main dealer.
February 28, 2025 at 6:58 pm #298602Which Nextbase did you go for and is it front and rear fitted for £99.00?

February 28, 2025 at 7:03 pm #298604Went for the 622GW after a discount code they have an elite package £270 direct from Nextbase. Not sure if they are including fitting both for £99. I’m checking Monday.
March 1, 2025 at 11:01 am #298635They don’t fit the rear at all apparently it can interfere with the sensors so might look into one that attaches to the front camera.
March 1, 2025 at 11:36 am #298642I had both front facing and a rear facing camera installed by my Skoda dealer
March 1, 2025 at 1:59 pm #298651It’s a camera how would it interfere with any sensors? I think someone there was just trying to get out of doing it. Zero reason for that in fact i’d go so far as to call it an outright lie.
Grants are means tested so if you have a wage income for example they probably won’t help. We live in rural coastal Norfolk and I made representation and they eventually funded nearly all of a Sportline 85x so it’s worth an ask. I also demanded they deal with me via email not phone see below for the whole story
As for the grant living up a mountain that’s total garbage from Motability as usual. Go back speak to someone else. They initially gave me a list of cars Berlingo, Enyaq 60 and so on. I wrote back and explained why everything on the list was unsuitable. At the time the Enyaq 60 didn’t have adaptive cruise control so ruled that out. The Berlingo has a tiny battery and terrible range. I then explained why the 85x was suitable inc rural living with muddy roads, untreated roads in winter plus need the heated seats, wheel etc I forget what was missing between 60 and 85x at the time. Motability looked again and came back so that I only had to put £100 of my new car bonus towards it.
First time I spoke to them they were really rude and dismissive over the first car this time I demanded to deal with it only via email and it took weeks for them to agree to it, I had to threaten them as they were refusing a reasonable adaptation for a disabled person and I expected better from them of all people and in the end they agreed and the person I ended up dealing with was lovely.
There are some really awful people working at Motabiltiy IDK if they are trained to be that way to put the majority off or whether it’s just bad staff but it’s worth trying again and seeing if you get a better staff member. When I was in a hire car due to the delays of delivery with my Enyaq they told me they would leave me with nothing and it would take 6-8 weeks to return my pip allowance until my new car arrived leaving me stranded, I begged and pleaded and told no tough, complained to CEO and it was all sorted within 30 minutes. Don’t always take the first answer as the truth be careful.
I love the scheme but sometimes their staff leave a lot to be desired.

March 1, 2025 at 7:54 pm #298656I think the problem if you can call it that is that I’m the driver but not disabled so as long as I can get her there in one piece and the range problem she was not remotely interested in even when I told her that we visit my father in Aberdeen a few times a year and I pointed out that we would have to stop four or more times with a Berlingo and I was told repeatedly it’s for her daily needs not her wants which I disagreed with but don’t know how to open it up again. Definitely rude and very dismissive of everything I said, even when I told them that we had just written a car off due to skidding on mud on the road from agricultural machinery and that we’d tried a few different cars and the Sportsline seating and AWD were the best and cheapest solution.
I sent the dealer an email about the dashcam and am just waiting for a reply. To be honest, this Skoda experience has not been smooth at all, and their feedback is nil. It’s been worse when we tried the local dealer in Lincoln. I think if it wasn’t for the fact that we really, really liked the Enyaq, we’d have gone elsewhere, but there aren’t that many dealers in Lincolnshire.
March 1, 2025 at 8:54 pm #298658Yeah similar to what I got initially. My best suggestion is try again speak to a different person. I had the same thime thingwritten off my ZS due to slipping off the road and suggested that wouldn’t have happened with awd and they listened.
They definitely took on board the range the berlingo has a better battery now last year cold weather would mean maybe 120 mile range which is rubbish.
The person who said no was that actually the grant decision maker or the first person you speak to on the phone? If the first person ignore them they know NOTHING getgete mapplicationa started and submit paperwork so you’re dealing with an account manager
March 1, 2025 at 9:19 pm #298659A grant decision maker, after I’d submitted all the paperwork etc could not get her to budge at all on any of the points. I think I need to raise a few points again with them and try again.
As you say, I love the scheme, but some of the people I’m dealing with at the moment are leaving a bitter taste, and even the CEO route isn’t helping much, the case handler is very unhelpful.
March 3, 2025 at 6:36 pm #298758Well getting totally ….. off with it all. Turns out there is no provisional build week for my order just been accepted by the factory on 6th Feb. Official complaint logged with the grants team and is being looked into and car is going back on the 7th April but they might be able to extend it for two weeks and that’s from the CEO complaint route.
This is beyond a joke, and the stress is off the charts. Never had such a hard time with Motability in the last 24 years we’ve been with them, is it just me or have they turned into a faceless, uncaring entity.
March 4, 2025 at 11:58 am #298788The grants complaint has upheld all aspects of the complaint and told us that we do not need a car with heated seats as a heated cover or hot water bottle could be used and range is not a problem on ANY EV due to public charging being widely available so the only EV they are willing to consider would be the van variants previously mentioned which all have a real world range of 120 miles or so. Skoda UK confirmed today that there is no build week tied to the vehicle at all and have no idea when there will be…..
Starting to look for alternatives but not much around at the moment
March 4, 2025 at 12:06 pm #298789I wonder if it’s to do with the end of the financial year or whether MB have just decided they’re going to be truly awful. I’m sorry they’ve refused to change, quoting public charging is STUPID tho if youre doing a 300 mile journey with 120 mile range you’d need to keep stopping. There are almost ZERO disabled adapted spaces you could throw that back at them it’s a real issue with these charging locations some are better than others for sure and the big locations often do have a disabled baybut generally they don’t exist. Plus of course endless rapid charging would cost a fortune too.
I don’t know what to say it’s the opposite of what they said to me agreed on heated seats (hot water bottle would last minutes on a 2 hour journey) heated steering wheel, AWD etc. I’d say you can quote my case if it’d help.
Only other thing I can suggest is borrowing the money if you need to so you can get what you want and then try to put enough away over this lease for the end of it. I wonder now that APs are going thru the roof if they’re getting too many applications and being super picky and snippy about it. I wonder if they actually have any disabled staff working there because these people seem pretty quick to come 0ut with rubbish like hot water bottles which if you’d had to do that you’d know they don’t stay hot all that long…
March 4, 2025 at 12:21 pm #298791Worth taking it the complaint to the Ombudsman and highlighting all the unreasonable requests, such as using hot water bottle etc!
March 4, 2025 at 12:24 pm #298792Can you take a grant application there? Might be worth checking if there’s a staged process.
I have a HUGE problem with that hot water bottle comment. Imagine you’re 10 mins into your journey and someone hits you and that hot water bottle ruptures…… You could get really hurt. I would like to ask the CEO if thats an appropriate suggestion
