Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Picked ours up earlier in the week. The range is showing as 450 miles. No idea why it’s so high.

Mine showed that but it’s now settled down to around 300.
September 13, 2024 at 2:23 pm #288542Just for information, my car came fully charged at no cost.

Yep so was ours, no charge (cost) at all.
September 13, 2024 at 3:34 pm #288549It was showing 148 miles at 48% then something like 310 at 100% it was a 75kw charger, so we could’ve actually done Norfolk to Lincoln to Cleethorpes, out and about then home without charging as satnav said 120 miles home, super impressed as that was without eco driving too. Yeah I believe the red led flashes on the key to tell you it’s active and eventually if not moved it goes to sleep
Tried to get my head round this kw/mile but brain has had enough lol. Roughly 300 miles would cost how much to recharge?
September 13, 2024 at 3:58 pm #288554Depends where you charge it.
My car is averaging about 3.3 miles per kWh (kilo Watt Hour) of electricity
So, 300 miles divided by 3.3 would give me the amount of electricy in kWh, 300/3.3 = 91kWh
Charging at home I pay 7p per kWh so 91 x 7p =£6.37
Charging at a charger awy from home it would cost anywhere from 30p to 90p per kWh
A typical Tesla or Ionity charge off peak would cost about 41p per kWh, so 91 x 41p =£37.31
If a full BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) suits you needs and you can charge at home it’s a no-brainer as far as economy is concerned.
My previous petrol Ateca did 36mpg, that was costing me £80 to £120 a month, the Enyaq I have is costing me £12 to £14 a month.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
September 13, 2024 at 3:58 pm #288555This car is fast as f@@k! Really going to have to watch the speed.
September 13, 2024 at 4:05 pm #288556Yes indeed, keep your eye on the speedo!
When I picked my Enyaq up I went up to show my daughter, got out of the garage and up onto a dual carriageway, sat at the lights and thought “I wonder how fast this is?”
Planted my foot and by the time I’d looked back at the speedo I was doing 86mph!, and that was in economy mode, haven’t tried it in Sport mode with all 4 wheels powered but I believe it’s slightly faster! Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

September 13, 2024 at 4:29 pm #288563My old Grand Voyager was costing nearly £200 a month in diesel 3 years ago. The Enyaq is using so little power I don’t even notice it. On sunny days I’ve had the charger locked down to 1.4kw so the car only used solar power and the charged at normal when prices are below 15p. We had £500 in debt as of May it’s now down to £30 without paying anymore. The real test will be charging over the winter.
Yes it’s fast a fook in sport mode got a nice straight C road with no turns here stopped then stomped on the throttle let’s simply say got to 60 by the time I blinked I’m not incriminating myself further lol
September 13, 2024 at 4:57 pm #288565What are the flappy paddles for, I’ve tried playing with them but nothing happens.
September 13, 2024 at 5:04 pm #288566To show my wheelchair in the boot of the Enyaq. It fits perfectly.
September 13, 2024 at 5:28 pm #288569Jojoe, they control regen but you have to be in D mode, the left – paddle increases it in increments 1,2,3,Auto, the right + paddle decreases it back down.
In D mode when you take your foot off the accelerator the car barely slows down as no regen is applied (without using the paddles) in B mode (mainly for start/stop around town or in queues) taking your foot off the car is in Auto regen(large blue A next to the drive mode display) and slows a lot faster putting more charge back into the battery.
I haven’t found any difference in my consumption/efficiency it’s still around 3.3kWh. I’ve been driving in B mode for the last 6 months but just did a 2 week trial using D mode and there’s no improvement that I can find but that’s probably due to my driving conditions of mainly short jourmeys.
Don’t know if it’s because we are right hand drive and the paddles are switched over or it means less or more use of battery!

September 13, 2024 at 5:35 pm #288570You also have to turn off auto recuperation. Otherwise the car will adjust the regen for you. If coming up behind another car and you’re off the throttle it’ll decelorate faster, if you lift off with nothing in front the car will more or less coast.
It’s under vehicle and assist systems
Eco assist automatic recuperation
Once off the paddles manually switch regen
B mode is max regen all the time. Auto regen is for D mode as I described above. I noticed you can get a lot more economy in D mode, B mode means using the brakes a lot less and I find it much easier to drive esp on country roads. D on longer journeys on predictable roads gives higher economy in my experience

September 13, 2024 at 6:18 pm #288578I applaud all you guys and gals who have ordered Enyaq’s and waited with stoic patience and sometimes frustration for the eventual delivery. You have made a great choice despite the often hopeless performance of Skoda and their dealerships.
It’s good to eventually see so many happy posters.
Enjoy …. You deserve it.
September 13, 2024 at 7:16 pm #288585Cheers @Phaedra @rich44 I’ve flicked through the manual but it’s not great. Something I did learn was a way to remove a locked charge plug, in the boot there’s a carpet flap on the other side of the charge port, behind that flap is a lever which manually unlocks the charge plug should you not be able to remove for some reason, think it needs to be powered down first.
How does eco mode in drive modes affect the drive, does it slow the acceleration?
September 13, 2024 at 8:25 pm #288596From what I’ve read if you use the remote release for the charge plug it has to be reset by the garage afterwards.
As for the difference in economy mode I’ve never really used it except to try it for a few minutes, given the savings on petrol I really don’t bother driving for the best economy any more. I just drive A to B and it is what it is.

I’m thinking more for Mrs Joe using hand controls, the acceleration is a bit keen, eco mode may slow it down a little. I’ll try it tomorrow.
September 13, 2024 at 9:57 pm #288601Eco mode takes the power down a touch, reduced throttle response and lowers the top speed as I understand it. Oh it also reduces aircon power too. As for difference it makes I’ve tried it a few times but not to measure it.

You can always get a nice smooth pull away if you start by pulling the cruise control towards yourself twice. Let the car get you started instead of trying to be delicate with the go pedal…

September 14, 2024 at 6:10 pm #288650Just done a long journey around 230 miles and had 28% and 101 miles left when we got back. 331 miles from a 360 range car on motorways, country lanes and A roads doing 70 with air con on and heated seats on part of the way. Very impressed.
September 18, 2024 at 6:59 pm #288848What charging speed are we all getting when using rapid chargers? I tried one and although the car said it could currently accept 88kwh the charger only gave 47kwh at a 150kw charger.
September 18, 2024 at 8:00 pm #288857Yeah it depends on the level of charge as well as temperature.
I got up to 160kw on my test. I’ve only used 75kw chargers recently tho as much cheaper. Don’t know the exact charging curve but you needs to be fairly low to get that really high charge rate.
September 19, 2024 at 9:33 am #288892Does anyone else think the brakes are not that good or is it just me?

Rory mentions the brakes in this vid skip to 6.50
