Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

I really hope you have a much better experience there, I’m sorry you got such bad treatment. I highly doubt he spoke to the principal probably lied or just spoke to sales manager, Principal is responsible to multiple sites so unlikely the average pleb salesman would have access.
I’d explain what’s just happened to the other dealer make sure they won’t pee you about, stamp your foot down early so to speak.
Good luck
April 26, 2024 at 1:09 pm #276428This is shocking. As already said, get a complaint in because now it’s not just about the AP, it’s this guy’s attitude. He definitely wouldn’t have spoken to a retail customer that way. That’s discrimination.
April 26, 2024 at 3:35 pm #276433Terrible attiude as others have said!
Cancel and go elsewhere 🙂
April 26, 2024 at 8:07 pm #276440Thanks, everyone. Our experience this time was far different and new order placed so we’ll wait and see what happens now with regards to timescales.
@Rich44 You weren’t wrong found out he’s the sales manager and not the head honcho so complaint emailed to the actual principle but not holding my breath.April 28, 2024 at 12:31 am #276489While I appreciate that forums and reviews/feedback tend to favour the negatives as many people tend to complain a lot more loundly than they applaud, I am starting to have serious second thoughts about the 85x I currently have on order.
My temper control isn’t what it used to be and I don’t know how well I would handle regular issues/faults – I can seriously see myself turning up at the dealer, handing back the keys and getting a taxi home followed by completely ignoring all contact if I end up with anywhere near the amount of problems I keep reading about.
Thinking about cancelling, and finding the little bit extra to get an Ioniq 5 Ultimate. Probably doesn’t help that my car has been delayed again and again. I expected to be in it a few weeks ago and am now looking at August, so every time I stick another £90 in the tank I’m getting more and more annoyed, especially as I figure the same distance driving would cost about £15-20 in the Enyaq so its “another £70 down the drain” which keeps going through my head

if it helps- yesterday I took the car on its biggest trip to date. Starting at 80% charge and returning home with 9% charge just over 200 miles and the car was faultless.
2024 Skoda Enyaq estate- 85x Sportline plus in Race Blue. Extras: Supernova 21 inch wheels, Maxx Pack, Transport Pack, Heat Pump and Pano Sunroof.
Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24April 28, 2024 at 6:58 am #276492Picked mine up yesterday, granted I only waited 9 weeks but I’m a very impatient person, if I order something I want it yesterday and can sympathise with those on long delays.
initial Impressions are very VERY impressed given we never got to test drive as our nearest dealership had nothing available and we are 100s of miles away rurally, coming from a Tucson ultimate which we hated everything about (just a pure lousy and gutless car that was averaging 22-25mpg and costing north of £100 a week to run)
I honestly would give everything about the skoda a 10/10 expect seat comfort which would be an 8/10. The only thing the tucson trumps it on. From the infotainment system to the drive to handling to the space to the app integration it’s all perfect and seamless (touch wood. So far)
We are also very fortunate to live 500 yards away from a free public charging station consisting of 4 chargers on a heritage tourist attraction that we can access 24/7 so theoretically for the next 3 years our running costs are going to be next to nothing.
9 times out of 10 the reason people take to forums and support groups are to highlight problems, so there will always be an online bias towards negativity, if your vehicle is doing everything it should then you’ve no reason to take to the Internet and vent.
The only thing I could vent about the whole thing, the car was filthy, clearly rolled off production line straight onto a boat and straight to dealers without being cleaned, so it’s going to need a good seeing to.
April 28, 2024 at 9:20 am #276496Mine is one of the troublesome cars sadly but I agree that when the cars working fine they are a great vehicle.
The problem seems to be if you do have any issues with the car your in for a considerable wait unfortunately.
I’m on most of the FB owners groups and the common factor is the huge wait for repair, it’s generally months for most owners, for a car costing approx 50k you would think they have some urgency having it back on the road.
There will be exceptions but Skoda dealerships in general seem to have the attitude of “it”ll be fixed when it’s fixed” and not every dealership is equipped to deal with EV repairs.
Mine was refused to be dropped off at 2 dealerships as they didn’t have EV technicians so ended up finally being dropped at the third the recovery driver went too, some 90 minutes drive away.
Anyhow, enough moaning for now and happy trouble free motoring to everyone 🙂

April 28, 2024 at 10:23 am #276499@Colin Unfortunately that’s the way of the world these days. So there’s some people online complaining and you’re worried. What if you cancel and what you change to is worse?
People have been ordering the e3008 even tho there’s not even a demonstrator available so we don’t know what state that is in.
Even back in the day in 99 I had a branded new 1.8 diesel Focus no tech old school car go brum. 2 days after I got it 12v battery died, dealer spent hours arguing that I should come back tomorrow (yes with a dead battery) only got sorted as it was a company car and leased.
After 200 miles the aircon died
1500 miles the turbocharger sounded like a police siren if you revved the car
I had 40 odd aircon faults in a very short time where it’d just die. Service manager knew my name, reg, address and phone off the top of his head
After 70,000 miles it nearly threw a piston new short block needed. Despite religious servicing and me not driving like a tool.
My colleague who got his a week or so after me had no problems at all identical car.
Anyway my point being there’s always been issues with cars, cars are pain. Sure this software stuff is new but manufacturers have always churned out Friday specials or poor designs like Vauxhall 1.4 16v 90s engine.
I’m not trying to defend any Enyaq faults and I’m as concerned, I’m just trying to highlight there’s an issue it’s known about (half the battle) whereas you could order something else and by the time it arrives it’s in a similar situation or worse it only seems to be your car.
Mines due end of next month I’m still excited and looking forward to it. Hope you get yours and it’s all OK I’ll keep my fingers crossed

Same here too. If something comes on soon that I like I’ll cancel straight away.
April 28, 2024 at 5:57 pm #276540I’m still convinced that the Skoda Enyaq is still one of the best BEV’s on the scheme today. It’s easy to get put off by negative views but that happens with all cars. I’ve just been watching the BYD Atto review and the test car broke down during the test! Volvo are having problems with supplies and almost every other car on the scheme has negative feedback somewhere on the Internet. My current Mercedes has had more faults repaired than any car that I’ve ever owned.
I’ve made my choice, I am totally happy with my choice and looking forward to It’s arrival which, will most probably be 6 months from order. The Skoda Enyaq in my opinion is excellent value for money and the build quality from what I’ve seen & drove is excellent. Roll on July!

April 28, 2024 at 7:08 pm #276547Ours is due to be delivered in the next few weeks, I’m not too worried about the software issues as we’ve had many issues on the current Skoda, they always correct themselves after the car is restarted. If the worst thing happens, we’ll just have it back and buy a used Model 3 Tesla.

Its popular down under I believe, not as I’d want one as, I’m not gym minded or play a guitar for that matter ?
Would have been tempted if the Seal had joined.
April 28, 2024 at 8:02 pm #276551Had an email come today subject headed > Your Motability Scheme car is on order
And with this content.
Hi Michael
Thank you for ordering a Skoda Enyaq Estate . at blah blah blah.
Rest assured Skoda are working hard to prepare your car.
There’s nothing else you need to do. As soon as there is an update on the progress of your car, your dealer will let you know.
Please note that longer delivery times are normal at the moment. Motability Operations and the dealer are unable to speed up the delivery time.
Your current car
The insurance on your current Motability car will continue until your new car is ready.Regards,
Your Customer Services TeamI placed the order at the dealers at the end of March and it showed up on my Motability account very quickly,is this a normal Motability Operations email about a month after ordering at the dealer.
May 1, 2024 at 2:21 pm #276625I had an email on the 20th April saying my car was in port in Europe waiting transportation. They’ve just emailed me today (2nd May) that it is still there. Apparently Skoda are having “some problems with shipping at this time”. So, Ho-hum, the wait continues.

May 2, 2024 at 10:41 am #276675Just checked ship tracker and a bulk loader just took on a full load and is now sailing.
May 2, 2024 at 12:20 pm #276680Thanks for the info, musman. If it’s not against forum rules or anything, can you supply some links or info as to how to find shipping tracking, every time I try I can’t find anything or get confused by what I do find. I’m absolutely crap at finding information on anything on the interweb.

I’ve found two ships, the Elba Highway heading towards Sheerness, arriving at 09.oo tomorrow for us in the South. And the Isar Highway heading towards Grimsby, arriving at 11.45 am tomorrow for our friends in the North. 🤞🤞
