Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Wow! That’s really not the best experience for you all. The charge port didn’t open on one occasion for me- I was wondering what the point of locking it is considering you can’t steal the electric!
the only issue I had was that my car came to me with software version 4.0 and I noticed that my surround cameras didn’t work. I booked it in to have it looked at because I thought I hadn’t enabled it but the dealer diagnosed a control module fault. Strangely though from that day onwards all cameras have worked and continue to work….. is it a coincidence that the car was updated to version 4.1 while at the dealer?? I don’t think they even know that they updated it?
i am loving ownership at the moment- I really hope all of your experiences get better. I can imagine how disappointing it must feel having waited and getting issues like your all getting
2024 Skoda Enyaq estate- 85x Sportline plus in Race Blue. Extras: Supernova 21 inch wheels, Maxx Pack, Transport Pack, Heat Pump and Pano Sunroof.
Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24April 21, 2024 at 7:27 pm #276021Had mine 3 months and have a growing list of error messages etc. Reading the Skoda Facebook groups the 85 series seems to be having a lot of these sorts of problems, especially brand new cars. Charge port cover not opening, had this from the first week when I went to look at it. Dealers advice, let it get worse until it breaks then we’ll look at it! Had the “drive system not working correctly” several times, just switch it off, wait 10mins and try again. Had a new one last week, cold and raining in Tesco’s car park, went to drive off and got a nice big red warning saying the electrical system was overheating! › Stop driving! Stop the vehicle and switch off ignition. › Do not top up with coolant! › Seek the help of a specialist garage. Again turned off/on again after 10mins and it’d cleared. Several other things that really shouldn’t be happening, terrible phone quality, over zealous emergency braking etc. etc., unless these are sorted out when this goes back in 2027 I certainly won’t be getting another one.
On the FB Group are there many other owners having the same problems with faults ?
April 21, 2024 at 7:54 pm #276024Yes, couple of new owners had to have their cars taken back to the dealers, waiting to see how long to get them back, weeks not days by the sound of things.
Some with drive system failure of faulty battery cells have waited months.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
April 21, 2024 at 8:04 pm #276026I have seen some people having issues but i think whilst it’s good to be able to see that, it should be measured with the fact that online forums can be places where negative issues are aired more widely than those who aren’t having issues…. Not that I’ve said that I look forward to the RAC visiting in the morning because it’ll be just my luck now that something breaks tomorrow!?

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24April 22, 2024 at 9:27 am #276057@Phaedra I’ve had my 85 for a few months now and like you have had several error messages appear. I’ve had traffic sign recognition error suck at 30mph in a 60mph with malfunction warning, drive error, left rear indicator failure error, SOS malfunction, 12volt battery error, all radio stations gone, car not unlocking with handle and last week I had 5 error messages when driving but I didn’t get to read them all !!
They all clear themselves or a stop and restart clears them. Oh and the car seat easy access only puts the seat back to the correct position about 50% of the time. If it was just me I’d be back at dealership but all these errors seem common on the Facebook pages regarding the 85 which is sad because the car is great otherwise !! Also they are all intermittent and dealer would probably say it’s not doing it now.
April 22, 2024 at 9:30 am #276058I am not sure if it’s relevant but these new models were sold in flagship software 4.0
mine was at the garage for a tweak a few weeks back and has been updated to software version 4.1
maybe that fixes some software grumbles from the release of version 4.0?
you can check the version in the infotainment screen.

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24April 22, 2024 at 9:43 am #276065I can put up with gremlins like that always thought it was an MG thing with the ZS. Software stuff intermittently is one thing. I had a Focus where the aircon would cut out get nice and cold then fart warm humid air at me.
I must’ve been in 30 times with it. I said just replace the compressor, every time but no we changed the clutch, we put anti bio in it and result was th same each time, take it away and see how it goes….
In the end it was a company car and on lease so on a Sunday night I dumped it at the main dealer blocking the entrance to the tech area and posted the keys along with a note not picking this up until compressor changed. Booked myself a hire car and buggered off. Got a call Monday saying we’ve changed the compressor come pick it up. Never had another problem after that well with the aircon anyway.
Anyway my long rambling point being intermittent software glitches might be annoying but at least they’re not intermittent hardware glitches that only you experience…….
April 22, 2024 at 9:52 am #276067Im fairy patient and understanding but I really can’t fathom how the wait for parts can be so long, they are producing cars and shipping them in a shorter timescale than mine will have been in for repair.
If parts arrive on time, the car (5 days old) would her been at the service centre for 3 months. There is just no urgency in fixing a very expensive and literally new vehicle.
I realise these problems happen but Skoda support have been hopeless, when I phoned for an update they said the car had not even been inspected but I knew otherwise and the app had been telling me doors/bonnet etc had been open a number of hours.
Just for reference mine had 14 issues at the last count. That’s besides the smaller faults such as stuck charging door, temperamental electric seat, etc
Hopefully it’ll be fine after being fixed but I’ve a feeling it’s going to be one of those troublesome cars.
Have a great day folks 🙂
April 22, 2024 at 9:54 am #276068Ask them to update the software though- it’s really important to make sure you’re on the latest version.
if they say 4.0 is the latest, they are wrong as I have 4.1 on mine.

I cannot stand cars that are unreliable and throw faults up like what i am seeing above.
April 22, 2024 at 10:22 am #276077Only way of avoiding that is getting something old that doesn’t have the gadgets to go wrong it seems. I was on first name terms with ford’s service manager in Norwich and he knew my address and reg off the top of his head for all the faults that had and that was 1999 Focus Zetec ie no technology at all. Cars are pain

We are waiting for our Enyaq to be delivered, currently have a Mild Hybrid Octavia, we’ve had a few of those warnings, more so early on before the updates. Got one yesterday on my way to the supermarket, car was fine with error cleared on the journey home.
April 22, 2024 at 11:56 am #276125It’s funny I got used to all of this with the ZS and I’ve got a MG HS PHEV right now and second time I started it BONG rear sensor fault lol
April 22, 2024 at 4:55 pm #276165Hopefully the issues will be fixed once parts have been replaced, and software update if needed.
Had errors once home after collection ,they did vanish after a few hours then returned day after. Errors again after maybe 4 days then vanished after a few hours again, by this time I was worried about using the car and where I was parking as one of the warning was in multi-storey car park which I knew would be a nightmare to get car recovered.
Day 6 car wouldn’t select drive or reverse and finally gave up with too may errors, recovery guy came and couldn’t get his diagnosis machine to connect to car so gave up and said he would arrange recovery with specialist truck the following day.
Heard nothing for 2 days and phoned motability to see what was happening and recovery bloke had marked the job as completed/fixed, so motability then arranged courtesy car and for recovery of car.

I’ll have them update if necessary, not sure if it’s 4.0 or 4.1 to be honest.

Same here. I’m used to having ultra reliable BMW’s.
April 22, 2024 at 11:59 pm #276191@Falcon1 my software version is 4.0 so I’ll get in touch with the dealer to see if they can update it. Thought it would have done it automatically OTA?? Car is great to drive, comfortable and boot is great for wheelchair etc but it just doesn’t fill me with confidence when all these software bugs appear. Reminds me of my first computer with windows 3.11 which had lots of bugs to say the least.
With a lot of people having the same issues you would wonder why these issues wouldn’t have been picked up when Skoda was doing their testing. Granted my last Peugeot had an engine management light come on and go off again, speed display disappeared and automatic gearbox malfunction light appeared but reset when I turned the car off/on. That was 3 blips in 3 years. Enyaq has had 8 blips in less than 3 months and that’s not counting the drivers seat returning to its position when it feels like it !!
Like Phaedra says if the car is gonna behave like this for 3 years I definitely wouldn’t get another one and it would make me regret getting one in the first place as unfortunately I’m the kinda of person who likes things to work as they should.
April 23, 2024 at 5:19 am #276196I think OTA updates with VAG cars really hasn’t worked for them- it’s hit and miss.
if they say that 4.1 doesn’t exist, here’s a shot of my info screen.

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24April 23, 2024 at 8:28 am #276201I’ve noticed a few people have issues with the memory seats, not sure if some of you are aware but if the doors open or your not sat in seat you just need a single press but when the doors closed you need to keep button pressed to move to saved position.
I think it’s a safety feature so you don’t have seat moving while driving and if seat settings have maybe been changed and you jump in and press button you don’t get squashed against steering wheel if using a single press, etc. Hence why it needs a constant press so can be stopped immediately.
April 23, 2024 at 8:38 am #276203@bolly1143 the Enyaq 85 has an easy access drivers seat. When you open the door the seat moves fully back to let you get out easier. When you get in the idea is that you put your seatbelt on and the when you put your foot on the brake the seat moves back to memory position relating to your driver profile eg memory seat position 1. Unfortunately it’s very hit and miss. In my case I would say 50% of the time the seat doesn’t move so I have to press and hold memory 1 button. There is now no way of turning easy access off in version 4 even though I’m the only driver.
the only other way for seat to move to correct position is to say on display that you are a quest user then change driver again to your profile and low and behold the seat will move to the correct position !! Amazing
April 23, 2024 at 9:15 am #276207I would imagine that all the new factory orders from now will have the new software version 4.1, or maybe higher if there are further releases.
The Enyaq has gone through the recent 80 to 85 transformation and there’s probably a few compatibility glitches that have occurred. Hopefully the software updates will sort these out as it sounds like it’s only electronic issues & not mechanical!
I’m still looking forward to getting mine!

April 23, 2024 at 9:53 am #276211I’m waiting on my Enyaq just now and i’m really looking forward to getting it. I have a couple of questions regarding these errors that people keep seeing. Bolly1143 shows many pictures of faults but are these actual problems that need replacement parts or is it the result of the software. I currently drive a SEAT Leon and apart from the faults specific to the electric drive, my car throws these same faults up once in a while. I don’t think these issues are new to the VW group’s cars and I genuinely don’t think they’ll be eradicated any time soon. I raised these with the dealer soon after getting my car and was told just to ignore them, it happens all the time. I even have the odd occasion when the infotainment and cockpit screens go black for a minute or so when driving. I know many people who have issues like this over VW, SEAT, Audi and Skoda cars. It’s a joke that a company of this size can’t get their act together. Even with all these gremlins though, I still love my Leon and will be sad to see it go.
Also, when I test drove the Enyaq I asked if the easy access seat could be turned off and was told it could in the menu. I couldn’t find it when I was playing with the screen so it would be good know if there is anything Skoda can do to turn it off at the garage rather than having to select the guest user and then change it.
I really hope the issues you are having are ironed out before mine arrives which probably won’t be until September.
April 23, 2024 at 10:40 am #276215Yes, a lot of it is software issues but these are common across the VAG group. The Skoda APP itself isn’t great, the servers supporting it die on a regular basis. While VAG are well aware of all of the issues they are in no hurry or it seems unable to sort them out properly.
A good example is the frequeent failure of the charging/petrol flap to open, this has been a problem for around 16 or 17 years and was an existing issue on older VAG petrol & diesel cars.
In themselves most software issues/glitches aren’t usually a major issue, just annoying, but, when something does become a problem it can take weeks or months to diagnose, get parts and fix things. A battery cell failure is a massive problem, luckily it doesn’t happen often but there are owners who’s cars have been to transported to dealerships hundreds of miles away all over the country as their local dealer has no idea so has it sent to another dealer who can diagnose the problem but isn’t qualified to work on the battery, he then sends it to another dealer who is the only one able to do the job.
I like the Enyaq, it’s nice to drive (apart from the sports seats side wings with my big bum!) and the 30% drop in range during the Winter isn’t great but while not unexpected it’s a lot higher than I thought it would be.
However, my experience with my dealer was shall we say “not optimal” in several areas and I certainly won’t be going back there. I’m still keeping an eye on what new cars come onto the scheme and at present I have no plans to keep the Enyaq any longer than I have to.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
April 23, 2024 at 10:47 am #276216Re the easy access drivers seat…..has anyone asked Laura to turn its function off ?
April 23, 2024 at 11:26 am #276221My vw Tiguan has left me embarrassed at the pump in the past when the solenoid failed. That is a fault from a car engineered in 2008 and it still is there now! Mad!!
